This hotel seems to be part of our family's memories. My grandparents, and then parents, have stayed here. Now it's me and my children. That's four generations. Excellent location. Spacious rooms with the basics. The premier rooms are huge, with old-world wooden floors and teak furniture. And lots of sunlight. Great restaurant and room service offering scrumptious traditional and contemporary cuisine. Though a tad expensive. Do try their naadan meals for lunch. It makes sense to go early as there's quite a crowd for lunch and dinner. Breakfast buffet lacks lusture compared to their lunch and dinner menus. The location - a stone's throw away from a metro stop - makes it perfect to explore Kochi. There are umpteen restaurants around the Grand Hotel, including a decent cafe named Cocoa Tree. If you fancy an early morning walk, you can join the early morning joggers at Marine Drive or Durbar Hall Ground, both of which are walking distance from The Grand Hotel. A lot of people would call it jaded; faded. But like a lot of old things, The Grand Hotel grows you on. You can't help loving it.

The standard rooms are ok-ish. At times, the ACs don't seem to be able to cope. The breakfast buffet needs to be improved.

Convenient location being in the city and close to both Ernakulam Town as well Ernakulam Junction railway stations; around 1 hour drive from airport in case of evening traffic. Hotel has ample parking space. The front desk team was well organized and our check-in was quick, luggage sent to the room very quickly. Reception area well maintained and the furniture was an added charm, the dining area was full telling us that the food here is really good and we need to try. The warm welcome by from the front desk team set the tone for our stay, the room an absolute delight,comfortable The ambience of the room offered every comfort needed to unwind and relax. My appreciation and compliments to the front desk team of Mr. Manu, Mr. Abel, Mr. Binsu (hope Ive got it right), Mr. Sham and Mr. Faisal and also not forgetting Mr. Advitya, Mr. Rinju who were also incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring a truly pleasant experience. The Extra Advantage that the Front Desk apprised us was taht we could leave our luggage while checking-out on 7th and collect it on 9th WITHOUT any Extra Charge!!!!!, so we were saved the trouble of carting all 5 pieces of our luggage to kanyakumari. Truly thankful for this facility. On our return to the hotel on 9th evening, we were greeted with the WONDERFUL news taht our room was upgraded to Executive Class!!!!!. Evening we decided to try the hotel cuisine and Oh boy, what a buzz the place had with the guests already seated enjoying the food and before we knew we were comfortably seated and the captain explained about some dishes that we enquired of him and so we made a good choice of food we needed to try. The food was so so good that we forgot to click the items laid on our table.

Grand hotel is a four-star hotel situated in the MG road in Ernakulam (Kerala). The location of the hotel is so superb that all important places like Ernakulam junction railway station, shopping malls, leading jewelries, theatre eateries (small & big) metro rail facilities etc are within easily reachable distances. It has a huge complex with ample parking facilities. It also houses a great restaurant on the ground floor serving tasty food. The hotel has range of rooms to suit every one’s need. I had the privilege of staying in this hotel with my spouse recently for four nights (between 19th & 23rd April 24). On entering the lobby, I found a neat large and convenient waiting area. The receptionists were very pleasant and helpful. The room given to me (102) was very spacious with a dining table set apart from a visitor’s sitting arrangement. The room was very neat and clean with good lighting and AC effect. The toilets were very comfortable, neat & clean. The bath area was very convenient with non-slippery tiles for safety. The room was provided with tea/coffee making arrangements. Our room had a very good view of MG road. The toiletries, drinking water etc were supplied adequately. The rooms also had ironing facility and safe vault facility. The room had ample lights. The house keeping & room service personnel were very prompt in their daily service. The restaurant personnel were also very helpful. The food served (both in restaurant & in room service) were of good quality. Though the hotel was commenced in 1963 it is still in very good condition due excellent maintenance. The hotel atmosphere itself is very pleasant. Overall, we were very happy to have stayed here. We had a feeling of staying at home. Our choice was right. We definitely recommend this hotel for a safe, hassle-free family stay. Good teamwork by the hotel personnel.

location is superb. very close to all areas. parking was suffient and we got to part our car well. staff is good. sea food in the restaurant is very nice. we had our dinner there.

though we had asked for parking, when we came back in the evening around 8pm, we were told to park in a place which was quite far from the reception. i think for residents there should be reserved parking near recepition. more so, because we had requested for parking in our booking. as we are both senior citizens, this far parking was inconvenient to us.

Great Stay at Grand Hotel Cochin I had a pleasant stay at the Grand Hotel Cochin. The food was delicious, with a variety of options that satisfied our tastes. The hotel is ideally located, close to key facilities, making it convenient for exploring the area. It’s a busy hotel, but the service was efficient, and I felt well taken care of during my time there. Overall, a great choice for a comfortable stay.

The hotel is very central, close to the metro and train station. The staff is super efficient, they quickly took care of every ask and gave great suggestions to visit the city. They even prepared our room in a heartbeat to allow us to checkin early, a life saver after a long, sleepless flight. Big plus is the presence of the restaurant in the building, we loved the food and the service. All in all we couldn't have asked for anything better, highly recommend!

I found the staff were very helpful, especially when the hotel started building work at 1am in the morning. The banging noise was terrible. I only needed to ask three times to stop the banging as we were trying to sleep!?

Why oh why would you start building repairs at midnight when your guests are trying to sleep.tje noise wax so loud No consideration for their guests!

There were two complaints from one family who went to dine at the restaurant and it seemed pretty bad and one from a family who stayed there. Bathroom nd amenities were a bit old style and needs refurbishing.

Polite and helpful staff at the front office desk, good place, nice location, good room service

Restaurant staff did not take any requests seriously and were missing requests all the time. No structure, no honouring commitments and does not understand even clear instructions, Buffet was below par and Food was not worth the money

Classic art deco architecture and furniture design. Old world charm. Food is excellent at the pavilion. Bar is well stocked and priced appropriately Room is large with sitting area, working table and a dining table. Bathroom is spacious and well appointed. Especially liked the mattress, Firm, as I like it. Location is central.
