I loved my stay in santa maria Hostel, it,s two steps from the water metro and so many little food and clothes stans. The staff its really nice and you can talk to them easily. The breakfast is also suoer nice, simple and delicious. The rooms are nice, mine was an all girls. The bathroom was quite nicea and the shower has a screen so the water doesn't spread all over. It is super aforble so i dont have many conplains.

The only bad thing was that my shared room doesnt work with keys, so if all of the people walk out of the room i just close the door but you anything to locked it, you just can locke it when you are inside the room.

The food is great, the bed was comfortable and plenty space to put my bag. Good ac in the room and free breakfast. The staff are very friendly and helpful and I really enjoyed the ten days I spent there. Good price, good location and nice female dorm

The breakfast was sometimes cold but it's free and I had it every day which was good. The female dorm could have some curtains to keep the light out and curtains around the beds for privacy. Sometimes the music at night can be loud but I slept well for most of my 10 days so it wasnt too bad.

The staff greeted me with a smile and made me comfortable. Then they completed the smooth registration process. Their room size and the ambiance were very good. It was clean all over. In addition, there was a complimentary breakfast. On the day of checkout, I had to leave early in the morning before breakfast time, so they arranged some snacks for me at that time, This was a sweet gesture. Moreover, they provided useful information about the places and the navigation to those places. Furthermore, it was certainly value for money. Its tariff was very nominal. Also, the Fort Kochi beach was very near to this place.

Water supply was not upto the mark at my floor (1st floor). There was no water in the bathroom sometimes.

The modest breakfast was good to help you on your way. I was leaving Kochi later in the day and they were great about leaving my bag and there's a common washroom to freshen up. De AC was great in my room, made the humid weather so much more bearable. Good Wifi too.

The electricity was weak, it took an hour to add 3% battery to your phone. Not a huge problem, but something to keep in mind. Found a roach in the bathroom, also not a problem but if you're iffy about these things, you should stay at a place with closed windows everywhere instead of a open fan in the bathroom.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hostel! From the moment I arrived, I felt incredibly welcomed by the friendly staff. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. The common areas are cozy and inviting, perfect for meeting fellow travelers and making new friends. The property is also extremely safe, with secure lockers and a vigilant staff ensuring a worry-free stay. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and secure place to stay!"

Santa maria was such a great hostel. I booked 2 nights and ended up staying for a week, then I went back to celebrate Onam festival with everyone. The location is perfect, the staff are amazing, they serve free breakfast every morning and they have the most adorable dog. Great for solo travellers. I met a lot of people there. Next I went and stayed in Santa Maria, Munro island which was also lovely. NO1 Santa Maria fan !! THANKS GUYS

Leaving

I would recommend this hostel to any backpacker going to Kochi! The outside area is lovely with a big banyan tree decorated with fairy lights where you can meet other travellers and plan a stroll through the Fort Kochi streets together. Nikhil and Appu are very helpful and give this place a super chill vibe! The rooms are comfortably big, matress is pretty soft and all very clean.

This is my 3rd visit to santa maria and will never be the last. You come here as a guest and leave as a family. The staffs are beyond amazing and extremely welcoming. This is the place, you'd feel at home. Although the check out time was 11.30 and it got a little delayed for me to vacate the place. They were yet so patient. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Thank you, Santa Maria. You have a fan :)

Great atmosphere at the common area on the ground floor, nice staff who hang out with us. Location is top, food stalls, nice restaurants nearby. During the day you can visit Mattancherry (not very close but still walking distance), at night the pier (right next to the hostel). From the nearby bus stop you can get to Ernakulam.

The room I stayed in had a mosquito problem despite the tight nets on the windows and the fans, make sure to keep the bathroom closed and/or cover yourself at night.

A nice sociable hostel, large enough to meet people but small enough to not feel too institutionalised. Good communal areas for socialising. Tasty breakfast which was different each day. Kind and helpful staff. Good value for money

Some of the facilities could do with modernisation - e.g. the showers and decor are in places a bit "tired" looking and could have been cleaner. However, everything functioned fine and the price and atmosphere made up for it!
