I had a wonderful stay at The Hosteller Fort Kochi! The property is beautifully maintained, clean, and has a very warm vibe that makes you feel at home right away. The staff are extremely polite, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The location is excellent—close to all the main attractions like Jew Street, Mattancherry Palace, and the Synagogue—making it super convenient to explore the area on foot. The rooms and dorms are spacious, hygienic, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. What I loved most was the community atmosphere; it’s a great place to meet fellow travelers, relax, and enjoy the cultural charm of Fort Kochi. Definitely one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in, and I would highly recommend it for both short and long stays.

Location was great, I loved the social spaces in the hostel, playing ping pong and carrom and making new friends was great. Air conditioning in the rooms is a must and they have it. Privacy curtains are brilliant in Hosteller hostels and I really love that. You can book really great trips through the hostel, I'd recommend the backwaters trip for sure. The staff really made my stay though, all are really friendly and nice, Abi in particular was super helpful and really just a lovely bloke!

I hate that Hosteller always demands pay in advance and every time cancels my trip with booking. I will only pay with cash! There was a kitchen but it was quite dirty when we arrived, they did clean it but it still was in need of a really deep clean. Also it really needs more utensils and stuff. A few minor tweaks and I'd give it 10/10

Not very social, the communal areas were too hot. The hostel could do more to promote a social atmosphere. Downstairs reception in the evenings didn’t smell great and was also humid. Whilst there were some helpful staff, a lot were not. It was hard to get information out from some of the staff at times. We asked them to do our laundry and expected it back same day. It later turned out they hadn’t even sent it and weren’t very apologetic.

The community feel of the hostel was awesome! As was the location which is right in the middle of town. The faciloties like the games and rooftop area were great. The kitchen wasnt perfect but good for a hostel. Beds were great with nice privacy curtains and a little lock box as well as a big locker that could fit almost all bags. Bathrooms were nice and clean and nice that there were two per room with all facilities inside.

Nothing, perfect hostel

The room was great, comfy bed, quiet and efficient air conditioning. The room was clean and designed well. The communal areas were vast and well thought out - great to meet people and chill and relax or play table football or table tennis! Perfect location to explore Fort Kochi - literally 2 mins walk and you are in the middle of it all. The day staff were friendly and helpful.

The only criticism was that as we arrived late at night due to a delayed flight into Kochi the welcome was pretty poor. Spent over 15 minutes checking in as we had to check in via an app and then we also had to fill in the same information in a book. complete duplication which was a exhausting as we just wanted to go to bed. The receptionist did not speak to us the entire time just pointed, we presume he didn’t speak English.

Nice staff (who also helps me with my problem of adaptor as the plugs are type M and not UK here), perfect location (13 min walking distance from the beach and very closed to everything you need to see in Fort Cochi), very nice and clean single room with my own small balcony and bathroom, AC, nice rooftop from where you can see the cathedral and hear the birds , closed to good restaurants, fresh water to drink for free in the common area, I warmely recommand!. 🤗

I could hear the doors and the ping pong table but the noise has always stopped arround 10-11 pm max, so not an issue at all!

Loved the location! Absolutely loved the terrace with so many things to do. The nice chill areas on random floors were nice incase you wanted time out of the room. The curtains on the beds were nice for privacy and seperate lighting. There were many games to play in the reception area. Hostel is close to many things restaurants, tourist sites etc

I didn’t like the one receptionist. He was so unfriendly and unwelcoming, then after sometime once I got settled, he came to move me from the room that I had booked to accommodate another girl. However the other guy that took over was very friendly and helpful

The Hosteller is located in a great location to explore Fort Kochi. The dorm was clean and comfortable, with excellent AC which was much needed. The rooftop area was a nice space to relax in.

Communication from the staff was disappointing. After several back and forth messages, they refused to answer a simple question regarding the estimated cost of transport to the hostel. They had no issues sending me multiple messages and emails asking for pre-payment.

Fun hostel in a vibrant part of Fort Kochi, with a short walk to restaurants and points of interest. Comfortable and clean room with amazing shower!

- No restaurant (although there is a communal kitchen), but it was not a big negative due to proximity to great restaurants. - Check in through the app is a bit frustrating.

The location is only a 5 minute walk to the water by the fishing nets which is perfect. The staff were so nice and very welcoming, couldn’t do enough for you. The beds were very comfy, having the curtain on the bed gives you lots of privacy too as well as the huge locker space underneath the beds which were very handy. Bathroom was very clean and hot water ran constantly. Definitely best hostel I’ve been to! - Wi-Fi was also very strong so perfect if you’ve got work to do.
