My partner and I had a truly lovely stay at Niyati. It was exactly what we were looking for—a quiet, cozy place with character and charm, ideal for a relaxing couples’ getaway. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. They gave us great local tips and made everything so easy, from check-in to check-out. Our room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, with thoughtful touches that made it feel special. The atmosphere was calm and romantic—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. We especially appreciated the peaceful surroundings and how close the property was to local sights, restaurants, and shops. It was the perfect base for enjoying the area while still feeling tucked away from the crowds. We would definitely recommend Niyati to other couples looking for a serene and memorable place to stay. We'd love to come back!

The stay was cozy and comfortable, with a charming inner courtyard that added to its charm. Perfectly located amidst antique handicraft shops, it’s just a short stroll to some of the best restaurants and cafés. An ideal choice for couples or families seeking a memorable stay.

The ground floor rooms are situated near the reception, which may result in reduced privacy or occasional noise. For guests who are particularly sensitive to these aspects—such as solo travelers or groups of bachelorsor couples an upper-floor room might be a more suitable option.

Excellent can't-be-beat location - just minutes walk from the main drag full of shops, eateries, cafes and the touristy sights. Also a very safe area. The rooms are large, clean, well appointed and airy. The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. The decor is pretty interesting with various artifacts and it is a heritage building - has lot of old world charm and character.. The property also houses one of the more lively pubs in the Fort Kochi area next door to the hotel area. Basics are all available and Francis is a great host. He is accessible at all times and was extremely kind and accomodating. Had a great time staying here and would be happy to be back!

The room we were in was a bit noisy at night due to it facing the street where the pub patrons enter and exit. This is not an issue for the internal facing rooms. I'm sure soundproofing the windows will be a good fix.

As well as being as being clean, comfortable, welcoming and centrally located in historic Kochi Fort, Niyati has a stylish atmosphere with its dark wood and polished concrete interior decor, enhanced by traditional artworks and a small central courtyard garden. There is a bar as well - prices dearer than nearby bars, but they had none of the cosmopolitan vibe of Niyati. The staff were helpful and let us store our bags after checkout until we were ready to catch the night bus.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. We should note our stay was during off-peak season and room rates were considerably reduced at that time, which meant we got a larger, better appointed room for the same budgeted amount compared to other hotels during our India trip. It was a good deal for us.

Warm and friendly staff, always willing to help with any assistance required. Comfortable room and beds Air conditioning was important and good clean bathroom.

Unfortunately power cuts did interrupt or qualm however sometimes not their fault Saturday night was too noisy with customers from the bar next door coming in to the hotel and sitting in the stair wells Did not enjoy smokers outside in the street outside the hotel with the smoke coming into the rooms. Please ask them to move away from the hotel entrance when smoking Passive smoking also kills !

Review Title: A Pleasant Stay with Room for Improvement Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently had the pleasure of staying in this charming boutique hotel located in the heart of Fort Kochin. First and foremost, I want to commend the staff: their positive attitudes towards service were very impressive. They were prompt and helpful, always ensuring we had everything we needed. The hotel itself boasts a convenient location, making exploring the city a breeze. For cleanliness, the room we stayed in was generally well-maintained and tidy, which we appreciated.

However, I believe there is a degree of improvement needed to make it a perfect stay. The biggest grievance was the poorly lit rooms. With slightly brighter or more substantial lighting, these rooms would definitely win more favor from guests. We also had a few too many run-ins with mosquitoes during our stay. While I appreciate that mosquitoes are a problem in many tropical locations, perhaps the hotel could consider installing protective screens or other preventive measures to ensure guests' comfort. The room service, meanwhile, was adequate but not exceptional. It didn't live up to the prevailing high standards of the hotel. And it pains me to mention that some of the towels we received did not seem thoroughly clean, a rarity in such a well-kept establishment.

The property is located in the picturesque Fort Kochi area. It fits into the surroundings beautifully has a true boutique feel. The owners have decorated the place tastefully and the property is full of artifacts and memorabilia from the yesteryears. Great food and live music in their restaurant. One shouldn't miss this! All in all, a very pleasant experience!

The rooms have a slight musty smell. One may take time to get used to it. I'm guessing this must be due to the plant and landscape feature right outside our ground floor rooms.

The location is easily reachable and right in the middle of Fort Kochi with access to famous nearby attractions on foot. The property has a rustic ambience and is comfortable enough, has a low-key cafe/bar next to it with interior similar to old dutch/french bars. The staff is very polite and helpful and will be there to cater to your needs readily.

The prices at the bar could be better, however the taste, quality of food and presentation was decent. Also, they need a phone in rooms for service.

The location was great. It is within walking distance of places to see, such as the Chinese Fishing nets, to eat, such as Trouvaille, to shop, such as the Handmade Musical Instrument Shop, or Spice Corner, a tailor, and to enjoy a massage, (there were two lovely places for massage on the same block around the corner.)

Shampoo was not provided. Communication was sometimes slow because I don’t understand Malayan. (Sp?)

Gorgeous building, and I had such a wonderful room. I would stay for a week or a month if k could. The area of Kochi is lovely and atmospheric. Perfect location. Kind staff. Coffee and water in the rooms, and a big bathroom. I felt very much at home with the wooden decor and desk!

It was pretty loud at night with traffic noise, and chatter from the other rooms, as the place isn’t so well insulated. Definitely bring earplugs……. But if you’re sensitive get an inner room.
