This place is simply stunning. Every bit as beautiful as the photos. The room was comfortable and clean. Very comfy bed, great shower. I contacted the hotel in advance for a couple of requests, and they were there on my check-in notes, which doesn't always happen. The staff were really wonderful and went above and beyond. The food in the restaurant was great and reasonably priced. The pool was clean and very refreshing.

A minor suggestion - there could have been a few more shaded areas outside, to enjoy the courtyard but to stay out of the sun...maybe a few more umbrellas around.

- The Bar area is hot as they are 2 doors so its a bit warm to sit there and have a drink. Need to think of something. - They ran out of my Beer brand and did not have it in stock for 4 days. - Smoking area should have a couple of canopies for some protection from the strong sun. - Room TV should have some news and entertainment channels as had to ask for the same and only 4 news channels were provided. Am sure after providing such a nice room , you can have some good channels working.

The staff at this hotel were a joy to see every day. They went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience. The complementary afternoon tea is a lovely added bonus, and even when we missed it one day they arranged for fresh tea and snacks to be brought to our room. The hotel and pool are stunning and I could have spent weeks enjoying the courtyard area - it’s a real haven. It genuinely felt like every single member of staff was always happy to see us and so keen to help us, from housekeeping, reception, restaurant and bar staff and not to mention the wonderful Ayurvedic lady who I would also highly recommend having a session with! We can’t thank them enough for our wonderful stay and we really hope to come back soon. I would definitely recommend booking the sovereign room if you are celebrating a special occasion - it’s worth it!

The hotel is really beautiful & looks exactly like the photos. It is extremely clean & comfortable, and in an excellent location. The breakfast buffet is very good, with lots of options. The staff were lovely & accomodating (even making us a packed breakfast to go when we checked out early). The free walking tour offered is really interesting & I would thoroughly recommend people get up early to attend. The guide is very knowledgeable & we definitely learnt about the local area.

It is a traditional, older style property - so the room is very dark. This wasn’t an issue, as we spent our days exploring but may not be to some people’s taste.

Beautiful hotel in charming old building with character, modern facilities, all very well maintained. I asked for a quiet room as I read some reviews saying there could be a lot of street noise. Our room was quiet as requested. Very nice swimming pool and sunbathing area in the courtyard. Breakfast in the restaurant was varied and plentiful. Dinner was also great with a good selection of dishes to chose from. Service was excellent in all areas of the hotel. Would definitely return. Highly recommended!

Being picky here but our room seemed dark with very little natural light coming in. Not enough clothes hangers in the wardrobe.

Hello, Forte Kochi! Words can hardly express how wonderful my stay at your hotel was. The ambiance transported me to the charm and elegance of the early 20th century. What truly stood out was the deep connection with nature—whether it was the views of towering trees from the windows, the lush greenery woven into the interior decor, or the cheerful birdsong in the background. The unique tilework added a character all its own, giving the space a distinct and memorable atmosphere. Your staff was incredibly attentive, and I can’t forget to mention—the food was absolutely delicious!

Literally an Oasis in the great of Ft Kochi. Service and friendliness of the staff was amazing. They were all friendly but especially Matthew, Joe, Arjun, Soni and Allathiya, they helped explain the wonderful items both Indian and western choices on the huge breakfast buffet. Since 95% of the Indian restaurants in the US are north Indian Punjab style, the healthier and more flavorful Kerala food needed some explanation but the seafood choices and variety of cooking styles were outstanding. I got three ayurvedic treatments and they were the best I had in Kerala. That means the cleanest and the 15 year experienced therapist. The refurbished mansion was delightful. The manager Joseph helped me navigate a delicate situation with a tuk-tuk driver in front of the hotel 🙏. Hint: best to use Uber

This beautifully restored mansion is lovely, rooms are huge and bed was very comfortable. (My Only complaint is that the pillows were huge, lumpy and hard! Surprising for such a beautiful and upscale place…!?) The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful, couldn’t be better…:). And the food was mostly delicious; I loved the salad Nisoise, garlic pasta with vegetables, and the veggie samosas…. The breads/pastries in the breakfast bar were notably stale/cold, but then, India is not the place for breads anyway other than naan/roti etc!

We loved the history of the building which has been very thoughtfully and stylishly renovated. The rooms were delightfully furnished (beautiful carved furniture, pretty tiles, gorgeous fabrics etc.) and spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and really looked after us. Particularly when our flight was cancelled and we had to book an extra night - which meant moving to another, much larger and even more exquisite room on the upper floor. The restaurant was excellent and we also really enjoyed the complimentary afternoon tea served in the beautiful courtyard by the pool every day. And the morning sightseeing walk included in our stay was wonderful - the guide was excellent and it really enhanced our stay. We loved Forte Kochi and had a very happy few days here.

Excellent property, great service! Special mentions for 1) front desk manager Chacko, who made us feel very welcome when we arrived and had an answer for any query 2) Durga, the always smiling host of Jetty restaurant in the hotel, who took great care of our orders whether at the restaurant or in-room.

Not a criticism, just a suggestion. Maybe start the breakfast services slightly earlier? 6.30am? There are no food options available anywhere nearby early in the morning. So for early birds - 6.30am breakfast would be amazing.
