Great location. The apartment was functional and comfortable, with its own balcony. There is an option to store luggage for early/late check-ins. The host was very accommodating, providing plenty of local tips and going out of their way to help with our requests. Thank you especially for being flexible with our unusual check-in and check-out times. The host prepared a traditional local breakfast every morning - it was an interesting experience. Overall, a great place to stay – highly recommended!

We had a lovely 4 night stay at The Barracks. It is a comfortable room and we were very grateful for the aircon. We had some concerns about mosquitoes after hearing they could be quite a problem (in reviews of other properties) but Naresh was very helpful and gave us a mosquito repellent and a plug in - we didn’t have any issues at all whilst staying there! The breakfast was lovely every morning and Naresh was very flexible, not waking us up when we had long lie ins and being very accommodating when we had to leave early one day. We were very grateful we had a good supply of drinking water whilst we were there. The kitchen and bathroom were quite basic but we didn’t do any cooking so it wasn’t a problem and we had hot water in the shower.

Naresh met us at the door even with our late checkin. He was so kind and generous and quickly became like family.. meaning he took care of everything, as an aunty or uncle might. We felt so safe and loved by the exceptional food made with love 🧡 to start the day.. we returned a week later to collect our bags and stay another two nights- just for the breakfasts!! Naresh and his daughter helped us with train tickets- 4 trips to be precise even while we were away and didn’t charge us any extra for this very convenient help… straightforward, honestly nothing was too much trouble..

We loved everything! The option to pay the bill by card might be appreciated by some but we just went to the atm around the corner and then paid cash.

I loved absolutely everything. Naresh was a wonderful host and went out of his way to assist in every way possible. The apartment was fabulous - large, extremely comfortable, beautifully furnished with heritage charm, cute patio area, great location, wonderful breakfast which Naresh brought to our room (I can’t stop thinking about the coconut, cardamom and honey pancakes!). Everything was spotlessly clean. I really can’t recommend this place highly enough

We had a lovely stay at The Barracks. We were welcomed by Naresh, the host, on arrival and helped to the apartment with our luggage. The building and interiors are beautiful and we enjoyed watching life on the street from our balcony. The apartment was very clean with comfortable beds (in the bedroom and the sofa bed in the living area). Naresh and his brother were available for assistance when needed but were not intrusive. The homemade breakfast was delivered to our apartment which was delicious. The building is in a good location and we could walk or travel by auto rickshaw very easily to the beach and historical sights of Fort Kochi. We were sad to leave and would like to visit again one day.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Excellent location in Fort Kochi, a short walk or R50 tuktuk to the Chinese fishing nets, nice big bed and lots of room. Huge cooked breakfast brought to our room, different every day. Both cold and eco-conscious water which is a nice touch. Overall, a comfortable good spot to explore from and not at all expensive. Naresh also organised our taxi pickup from the train station well in advance, and to the airport at the end of the street, and always communicated very well with us on WhatsApp.

The shower wasn't warm although in the heat it didn't matter too much. Tiny hand towel that wasn't changed although nice big bath towels. We were unlucky with a gate (I think - something noisy!) being constructed next to us but it was only noisy in the day and didn't affect us otherwise. All minor points that just took a little shine off what is overall a nice place to stay.

We loved our stay at this highly original building built recently in a period inspired Dutch/ Portuguese style. The property was situated in a nice residential wide avenue just 10 mins walk from the fort area. On the way we found many good restaurants and shops to browse. Inside the spacious apartment is furnished to a high quality with some thoughtful detail designed by the owner himself. We enjoyed hearing about his design journey and appreciated his courteous and kind manner , personally delivering a wonderful traditionally prepared breakfast to our room each morning.

Book the ground floor if you have any mobility problems as there are a lot of steps

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this charming colonial-style guesthouse. The suites were spacious, with separate living and kitchen areas, vanity room provided for dressing, and a peaceful courtyard area where we enjoyed a few lovely breakfasts. The guesthouse’s great location also allowed us to explore the shops and sights of Fort Kochi on foot. Special mention goes to Naresh, the owner, who is an incredibly kind and compassionate man, even allowing us to stay in a vacant suite for a few hours after check-out when my partner fell ill. His understanding and willingness to accommodate really touched us and made a difference to our trip.

This is a great homestay option in Fort Kochi. Comfortable and clean full apartment. Nice bed and plenty of hot water. The owner is a wonderful and kind man. Easy and quick communication using WhatsApp. Breakfast provided in your room each morning was delicious and very filling. I didn't need to eat again until dinner! Short walk to restaurants and attractions. Lovely stay here and would definitely enjoy staying again!
