The resort is very beautiful - very close to the beach and you can walk to it. The rooms are very comfortable and modern. Every room has a balcony. The food is delicious since I had a SPA package, all the meals were free. The food is Indian Ayurveda style vegetarian food - the food is in abundance for breakfast, lunch and dinner with appetizers, salads and desserts and fruits. There many non alcoholic healthy drinks to enjoy - you can order coffee or tea. The staff are really nice and they look after you very well. If you get the Spa package, the doctors will make recommendations on what to each according to your body type. I found this very helpful. The staff work long hours and work hard, a little patience from people staying would be nice. Remember you are travelling 100's in not 1000s of km away, breath and enjoy. Its not western world, why would you want that. I made friends with two Germans and they said the same thing as many people expected more western food.. there is western food available but why goto an Ayurveda spa and eat spaghettis - so try few local dishes as they are not too spicy and very beautifully cooked. Enjoy the place, its a paradise. There is yoga and meditation, swimming poo.. and you can try the other dinning room and pools in the property too.

There was a confusion with booking.com with the registration which affected me to check in quickly. Make sure if you switch cottage type your spa package doesn't get wiped out.. it happened to me hence the confusion. Once it was straightened out it was find. They tried to wiggle out of giving me spa day for my last day and I had to fight for it since I paid for it. So keep all your registrations printed. Booking in India, you'll have to pay partial money before you get there, its not western countries that you pay when you get there. You'll get emails asking you to pay 50% upfront before getting there. Booking com said its up to me and the resort, so make sure you get all the details sorted out before getting there as you can find yourself not having a room when you get there.

Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet location and lovely food. Excellent pool and beach facilities just on the doorstep

Sometimes we had to repeat the same thing multiple times because the staff were not communicating with each other. A minor niggle as they were otherwise lovely Despite our booking and arrival time being confirmed by Booking.com, the staff were not expecting our arrival and did not have a room ready. Instead we were told by a desk staff member that we had not confirmed our booking which gave an initial very poor impression.

Food was excellent. Good variety, quality, healthy and delicious. Massages were very professional, high quality and massage ladies were hard working. Doctors were excellent. Beach is near by. Restaurant staff was excellent. Historic decor and beautiful property. Enjoyed mud cottage with ecological style. Wonderful nature ambience with plants. Loved the swimming pool. Staff at swimming pool were attentive. Concerts in the evening were great addition and provided cultural entertainment.

Badly managed. Oversold the rooms, they did not have room for me when I arrived while I booked it 2 months in advance. I had to change 3 rooms during my short stay because of bad management. It was very stressful. Manager’s attitude was unfriendly. Never received apology for their mistake. Poor information about hotel offers. Poor attention to customers by management. Had to stay for whole day in cheeper room that was not properly cleaned. Room cleaning was very basic and not enough. Bed sheets had stains and sand.

Good concept and well organized resort

They can upgrade the TVs in the rooms to latest wifi TVs with the option to connect on the apps. It's advisable given most of their guests stay for 1-2 weeks Pool Timings in summer can be increased till 7.30 pm

This was my third time staying at Somatheeram, and again they managed to amaze with their kindness and thoughtfulness. Everything was perfect,the reception at the airport, despite our late night arrival, they allowed us to check in and go straight to our bungalow. As a result, the first treatment was scheduled in the afternoon so we could rest. The employees, from reception, service to the restaurant, doctors and therapists as well as the cleaning staff were always smiling and cared to meet our every need. After this two weeks of Ayurveda treatments I feel reborn! I can very gladly recommend this facility especially to people searching peace and wellbeing for body and soul.

Everything was just perfect!

Just some communication problem with reception, they have 3 properties and we have to move through 3 properties to find our cottage. Since they had no clue which guest booked which room. Initially they just randomly upgrade your room and upgrade looks like a downgrade. Finally after talking to 5 people we find our cottage. Staff , stay and food were good. Beautiful view if you book a cottage with view. Massage was Great. Praveen went out of his way. To make sure we feel comfortable. Thank you Praveen.

The location was wonderful and the gardens beautiful. Loved the swimming pools and access to all the different pools and restaurants was great. The yoga hall and classes were great benefit. Food was good especially in some of the dining restaurants

access to beach could be neatened a bit as it goes through a polluted local area - the hotel could perhaps try to work with villagers to upgrade the area to improve for hotel and the local people . Pity the beach is so polluted too

Great place and wonderful setting with very friendly and helpful staff. The staff helped us and supported us in our request and were very fast and efficient in arranging cars and excursions. Nice breakfast spread.

Wi-fi was a bit spotty. Unfortunately we requested months in advance two rooms with sea view but they were not able to accommodate when we arrived. After much discussion we got the rooms we requested but far from each other. The bed came a bit apart (2 single beds pushed together).

The Ayurveda Hospital is truly exceptional! The combination of experienced practitioners, serene environment, and holistic treatments creates a remarkable healing experience. It's a place where health! & wellness is prioritized in the most authentic way. Highly recommend!

The property is excellent,clean and very relaxing. Service is superb. Very close to the beach and has an area manned by the property personnel. The service from the staff is exceptional. However with a restaurant of excellent ambiance the food is definitely not to any standards. Exotic names and Ayurvedic identity does not make the food tasty. Felt that the food is blant and lacks taste . Well this is my opinion and not of the majority of the foreign tourists who get fooled by these exotic dishes. All vegetarian

Food of course. Can't understand why one has to serve tasteless food in the name of Ayurvedic theme.
