I stayed at this hotel with my 7-year-old daughter and we truly enjoyed the warm hospitality. It felt like a home away from home — very comfortable and welcoming. The hotel has a child-friendly atmosphere, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The chefs here are highly trained and experienced — the food was simply excellent. The location is another big plus, right in the posh heritage French Quarter (White Town), which added charm to our vacation. We really had a great time here in Pondicherry and would definitely love to return.

The property is extremely well maintained and has an excellent staff that attends to each and every guess with attention to detail. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable in a place that was new to us . Impeccable service . The morning breakfast has an amazing spread for all kinds of palates .

Lunch and dinner options at the property are limited . Although the food was tasty they run short of options . Since there are many options of food outside at a walkable distance this is just a minor set back compared to the pros.

Huge spacious room - love the architecture, colours, poolside room and overall relaxing environment. Love CGH's commitment to reducing plastic waste and sustainable practice (like refillable glass bottles with filtered water). Breakfast choices (included) are extensive and you can try a range of Indian breakfast items and Western options too up on the top floor with a view over the pool. Location wise - the hotel is super convenient and right in the heart of the French quarter for walking around and exploring. Pondicherry is a fascinating place, a melting pot architecturally and culturally, full of life and colour. MASSIVE shout out and thank you to Shyam who went above and beyond to help us with some travel dilemmas. Our India rail train tickets fell through despite being booked/paid for. Shyam found us alternate travel arrangements, was so calm and supportive through all the last minute changes and even took us all the way (even after his shift!) to where we needed to board our bus. Thank you SO much for taking care of us, very much appreciated.

Absolutely incredible! Right from the help provided by Jyotsna and Adrien to arrange the activities and transport to the delicious breakfast and the fantastic spa, it truly exceeded our expectations. The vibe is excellent for Pondy, the room was spotlessly clean and the housekeeping and maintenance were also great. I particularly enjoyed the made to order breakfast and excellent coffee!

The light on the air con was too bright and the pasta at dinner was a bit overcooked.

Palais de Mahé is one of the best hotel you can asked for. YOU WILL NOT REGRET STAYING THERE. HOTEL : Eco and budget friendly , beautiful with great interior design, clean and well located. The hotel is similar as per the pictures on Booking.com. This hotel is famous as it has been displayed in movies. Lots of people always taking pictures outside the hotel. STAFFS : Special thanks to Mr Adrien, Mr Kalay , Ms Yoshita , the GM Mr Dino, the restaurant staffs . You all made our stay amazing and made us felt at home. ❤️ From day 1, all the staffs were so kind, always smiling and willing to go extra miles. ROOM : The room was spacious, clean and had all the required amneties ( TV with local and international channels ,mini bar , hair dryer, water , fruits , fan , AC , Shampoo , Moisturiser, dental kit , hot water, Iron on request etc..) BED : One of the most comfortable bed we had. We slept so well . If we had more days, we would extend our stay just to spend our day in bed . POOL : Clean, beautiful and so relaxing. FOOD : Fresh and tasty food. We still talked about that " mushroom sandwich " during our breakfast time at home. LOCATION : Lively street close to the beach, walking distance to restaurants and tourist places. You can easily find rickshaw and there is a starbucks next to the hotel . We will consider the other CGH hotels for our other vacays !!

amazing staff from reception to the lovely breakfast and dinner team all very friendly and helpful. great pool and breakfast also does great evening meal. the only downside was the noise from the building work next door but hopefully that is nearly finished. I would definitely recommend a visit

well maintained, old building with a very special charme. nice to sit on the terrace in front of the room. pool superb and clean. the staff in the hotel and restaurant very nice and always supportive. breakfast is served a la carte but with a lot of flexibility and fulfilled extras. the restaurant is also a great place to finish a day with a delicious dinner.

room a little bit dark as teo windows faced a backyard. no garden or roof terrace with a nice view.

From the moment we arrived, it was like stepping into paradise. The reception area was so cool and welcoming and we were garlanded with flowers and given a refreshing cool towel and delicious drink. The staff were exceptionally good and accommodated our daughter at short notice. Breakfast was a delight with such a variety on offer and excellent service. The covered terrace has a good breeze. The evening meal was good and bar very relaxing too. The pool is a great place to relax surrounded by the stunning architecture of the building. We all had treatments in the hotel which were excellent. This is a perfect place to stay in Pondicherry.

The only thing we would change is the music that is played everywhere. It doesn't fit with the surroundings - slow piano or guitar versions of 1990s US or UK pop ballads. It could be so much more interesting - reflecting the era of the building (French jazz?) or Indian music would be ideal. It was played constantly on a loop so you knew what was coming next. Recommend either no music at all, or something different. It didn't spoil our visit, but is definitely something that would enhance the experience even more.

Quite a difficult question to answer, there is so many thing to like about the hotel. Courtesy, hospitality, comfort everything for that matter was super. I really cherished my stay... Usually we like to stay in modern classy hotels... this on the contrary was an experience of the colonial times... A flavor of French architecture in India... The color scheme, the ambiance, the food menu all was designed to take you decades back and understand the French lifestyle... That was good. Good thing is it wasn't half hearty attempt... somewhere the theme started and then lost in transition... Palais de Mahe, was indeed an end to end design mimic. Good stay. Thank you for making it superb.

The time we travelled was Navaratri festive time. So our food options were totally Veg. This was hampered by seeing a set breakfast menu. Will too little options in veg. No North India option further disheartened the kids. Nothing beyond that which comes to my mind.

Ideal location in the French quarter. The swimming pool is a big plus as the weather could be very hot. The room is quiet and spacious. We highly appreciate the staff at the lobby which was very helpful and provided many good advice. The hotel arranged us the trip between Chennai to Pondicherry for a very good price. We tried their restaurant which was good and not too spicy.

There is a construction just next but it wasn’t too bothering when we were there.
