the room size was very good, hot water was available all the time and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. staff vey courteous, polite and helpful

Breakfast, continental was bad for seniors like me as it should have been much simpler, and more nutritious and not so full of spices and sugar.

Very polite staff, they helped me with everything I asked. The room is spacious, the bed is very comfortable, and breakfast is great. Wifi and A/C worked properly. The location is very convenient, at the edge of the White Town (the Old Town which has a french style) and very close to many restaurants and cafes.

The only issue wasnoise, coming either from the street, or from nearby rooms. Earplugs can deal very well with this problem though. Another small issue with some rooms (possibly not all of them) is light. In my room, the only source of natural light was one small window, without a cover/curtain, so there was too little light during the day and a bit too much in the early morning. Overall it was a great experience though, and I definitely recommend this place.

Palais de pondicherry review From May 1st to May 4th me and my family were accomedated in a suite room in palais de pondicherry. Their hospitality was incredible , we were able to order a variety of cusines from their hotel menu and were served in our room. The suite was well furnished with a bedroom kitchen, dining areawith table for 4 , and two kid size beds in the living room. The staff and receptionists were extremely courteous and friendly. This hotel is a great option with adequate pricing and a nice location near all popular landmarks.

Although the the door bell, common wash basin and bathroom trashcan were malfunctioning the room was quite nice.

The hotel is in a beautiful historic building and in a strategic position, reachable by car (and with a small car park inside) and at the same time in the center of Pondicherry: we could reach everything on foot. Our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was served in the room and was good. Both Indian and continental options were available. It was nice to find some complimentary snacks in the room.

The windows have zero acoustic insulation and the street in front of the hotel is quite noisy. While the room is quite big, the furniture is not very well placed: for example, the wardrobe is huge and takes up most of the space, where a bedside table could be more useful. To reach the white town we needed to cross the abandoned canal in front of the hotel. Each time the smell is really terrible. Of course it’s not the hotel’s fault, and fortunately we didn’t get any smell in the room.

Fantastic value, we stayed in the family suite. Spacious room, clean, great for families. Breakfast was plentiful although took a while to be delivered. Recommend the Indian breakfast over the continental- the continental was too carb heavy and we got slight food poisoning. The welcome orange juice was nice. Great location that was stroller accessible- elevator goes to the parking basement which has a ramp to the street. Right across from old town and also close to other shops. The best place to stay when visiting Puducherry is the historical villas, but Palais du Pondicherry was 1/3 the price.

The property itself does not have a lot of space to run around outside of the bedroom. Sometimes asking for things felt like a battle- we have four people and we brush our teeth with bottled water, so the water the staff brought was never enough (I'd ask for 4 and they'd bring 3). We paid for four people in the room but they only brought three breakfasts because the fourth person was a baby (but the baby eats solid food). It just felt kind of cheap and exhausting to argue about.

I had a wonderful stay at Palais de Pondicherry, and I cannot recommend it enough! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience. They were incredibly helpful, offering great recommendations that truly enhanced my time in Puducherry. The South Indian vegetarian breakfast was a highlight—delectable, with a delightful variety of local flavours that set the perfect tone for the day. Every dish was fresh, authentic, and beautifully presented. The location is another major advantage. Just a short walk from Promenade Beach, the hotel is also close to some of the best heritage town eateries, making it easy to explore the local culinary scene. Whether it was a morning stroll along the coast or discovering charming cafés and restaurants nearby, everything was effortlessly accessible. Overall, Palais de Pondicherry is a perfect blend of warm hospitality, delicious food, and a fantastic location. I would gladly return!

The hotel is in city centre - close to most tourist places, temples, the beach/promenade, and Aurobindo Ashram. Our family room was spacious and comfortable. The couches converted into extra beds for the kids - a bit firm but not totally uncomfortable. The master bedroom has a large king bed. The hotel has underground parking for 4 vehicles. Our breakfast was included and it was delicious and plentiful. The staff were always smiling and helpful and provided local recommendations for food and sightseeing. The hotel is easy to get to from the train station so if you take public transport to Pondicherry and stay at this hotel, a car is not required. We had a very comfortable stay.

We were staying there as a family, my husband, 4.5 year old and 18 weeks pregnant me. We wanted a large bed so we could all be comfortable. This bed is huge and so comfortable! We loved the pillows so much that we asked the management where they got it and went and go ourselves the same pillows :D My son said he liked the tiny fridge. I loved the comfortable bed. My husband loved the pillows. Everyone who works there is friendly and happy to be there. We loved it so much that we extended our stay by another day!

The breakfast options available were South Indian, English Veg and English Non-veg. Breakfast was delivered in the room depending on our choice. The quantity and quality ion food was very good. The place is well located close to the market area, beach and multiple restaurants all within walking distance. I would like to specially thank our host who was extremely helpful starting from the day of my booking and even after our departure.
