The hotel is truly beautiful, with amazing views of the lake. Our suites were spacious and very luxurious.. A wonderfully decadent stay.

Whilst the food at the restaurant was excellent, as was the location overlooking the lake, the decor and the lighting just didn't fit with the rest of the hotel. The lights were so bright in the evening that you struggled to see the lake and it completely lacked atmosphere. Due to this, we ended up heading out to dinner at the next door hotel on a couple of nights. A few dimmer switches would certainly help the situation!

Well, you're staying in a palace! Lots of corridors to get lost in, but not for long. Beautifully appointed throughout. Views over amazing Lake Picola. Room service was prompt and efficient.

Very poor service to the pool area. We tried twice to order drinks, once took 50 minutes (for a tonic water and beer) and the other time we gave up after 30 minutes (the sun had set by then). No food service to the wonderful pool area at all. Have to eat in your room or air-conditioned stuffy Sunset Terrrace restaurant, with dirty windows. Our room had a glass door and no way to keep out the bright corridor light at night - crazy.

The location was outstanding, and the restaurant had the best food we found in Udaipur. I loved sitting in the window seat in our room, looking at the fabulous view. We also enjoyed sitting outside on the lawn near the lake - so tranquil after the bustle of the old city! Complimentary golf cart rides to City Palace and two palace gates to the city minimized our long hilly walks around town. We took a comfortable excursion with an expert hotel taxi driver to Monsoon Palace - up a long and winding road outside of town, where we thoroughly enjoyed the view! The hotel lake tour to Jag Mandir was also lovely.

The bathroom configuration was odd - two glass booths, one a shower and one a toilet, plus a large wooden wardrobe next to the sink, a built-in luggage rack and a dressing table - all included in a steamy bathroom environment. I like to keep my clothing away from dampness. The hallway smelled moldy and was obviously not as luxurious as the wings housing suites. On our first night and second night, the air in our room was heavily laced with incense/perfume, and the windows were sealed shut. At first the smell was pleasant, but not so in the middle of the night.

The location of the hotel is really good. With an exceptional view of the pichola lake and the lake palace, the rooms were extremely comfortable. The staff was very kind and helpful and catered to our every need.

We could have benefited with some more information about the services and activities at and around the hotel. For example we did not know about the possibility of having a golf cart drive us to and from the main gate of the premises till after a few days. We also found out that there was a possibility to get a tour of the entire palace from within the hotel but it was too late. More information either during check-in or information cards in the room would have been really good to have.

The location is so perfect. Can have relaxing time by the pool just watching the sunset and the lake. It’s very luxury. A real palace. It has also the feeling of being home. The waiters from Udit by the pool to the server from the restaurant: Naresh, Preeti, they are very professional and very helpful.

Just sometimes in the morning you have more than 4 staff asking you how is the breakfast. Just if this can be reduced it will be very nice especially in the morning some of us doesn’t like talking . Even talking while eating or having conversation with your wife

The location of this property is great, right in the heart of the Palace. The sunset looks beautiful

The photos on booking.com are not what the actual room looks like. They have over 50 rooms and all of them are different. I book the luxury suit with sit-out but to my surprise the room that I got was half the size on what it looked on the photos, and the sit-out was shared between 3 other rooms. It was really disappointing to see that. Once we raised this issue, we were upgraded to a better class of a room, which was without no lake view. We finally got our room at 4pm, which spoiled our day. To compensate, they gave us a late check-out 1 hr later.

Hotel location in the Palace complex with views over the lake are sensational. The hotel oozes heritage to its core. Especially loved the pool and food in the only restaurant.

I like this hotel however the hotel whilst historic must continue to evolve and improve its offer for the price. This hotel now feels dated, with tired furniture particularly in the bedrooms and outdated bathroom facilities. Money needs to be spent. Lighting in the restaurant is too bright and harsh making it cold and uninviting to eat in.

Absolutely divine honeymoon destination. The hotel itself was stunning - beautiful palatial decor and incredible views. The facilities were fabulous - gym with a gorgeous view of the lake, beautiful infinite outdoor swimming pool with ancient temple murthis surrounding the pool, cart to take you out of the hotel area, guided tours, spa (the couples’ massage was insanely good) and sunset boat ride - absolutely incredible. The service was second to none. All staff were incredibly helpful and went over and above to make our stay so special. We genuinely were made to feel like royalty. The sunset terrace restaurant was so varied and everything from breakfast to snacks to drinks to meals was delicious and never the same! We were taken aback by the high quality of each and every cuisine and how people would make food off menu too! There are many attractions nearby the hotel as well to visit and tour including the crystal museum and old palace. We would also recommend a local coffee place outside the gates (the cart will take you there) called blue box coffee. Best cold coffee in your life and charming venue! Would one thousand per cent recommend staying at this hotel to everyone we know. The most blissful honeymoon destination and the most incredible hospitality and warmth from the staff.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Taj Fateh Prakash, and I must say the location is absolutely fantastic. The hotel offers stunning views of the lake, which added to the serene atmosphere of our stay. The access to the property is also a significant plus, making it convenient for exploring the area. A special mention goes to the housekeeping staff, particularly Bhanwar and Abhishek, who were incredibly helpful and attentive throughout our stay. Their friendly and accommodating service made us feel truly welcome. Breakfast at the hotel was another highlight—delicious and well-prepared, providing a great start to our days.

We initially found our room to be too small, which was a bit disappointing. We were able to switch to a larger room, but unfortunately, it didn’t offer the lake view we had hoped for. It would be great if the hotel could offer more rooms with balconies to enhance the experience. The spa prices seemed a bit high, and the staff there were not as welcoming as we expected. After some discussion, we were able to get a 10% discount, which was appreciated. Despite the initial issues, the massage and hammam experience were excellent and made up for the earlier concerns.

The hotel beautifully combines the charm of a bygone era with modern amenities, making it a perfect retreat for anyone looking to immerse themselves in Udaipur's rich history and culture. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality that made me feel right at home. The staff at went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their attention to detail and willingness to assist with any request truly set the tone for the entire stay. Starting from the welcome letter referring to me as Patel ‘Sahib’ to our room service staff calling us as ‘Hukum’, made us feel like royalty, at least for the time we were there. The hotel itself is a masterpiece of architecture, with intricate details that reflect the rich heritage of Udaipur. My room was spacious, elegantly furnished, and offered breathtaking views of the city and its surrounding lakes. Waking up to the sight of the sunrise over Lake Pichola was nothing short of magical. The dining experience was exceptional as well. The restaurant offers a delightful selection of traditional Rajasthani cuisine, as well as other Indian and international dishes. Every meal was a treat for the senses, with flavors that were both authentic and delicious. One of the highlights of my stay was exploring the hotel's beautiful courtyards and gardens. The serene ambiance provided a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, allowing me to fully relax and unwind. The complimentary heritage walk of the palace was a welcome addition to the entire experience. Overall, my stay was a perfect blend of luxury, history, and impeccable service. Whether you're visiting Udaipur for the first time or returning for another visit, I highly recommend The Taj Fateh Prakash for a truly memorable experience. I can't wait to return!
