What an amazing place!! I was so impressed with everything here. Staff is just perfect. so sweet. Food was outstanding, really enjoyed having dinner in the hotel for the first time this trip. Room was very cute we stayed in a little hut. outside shower super clean and the instect spray everywhere ready to use as you are staying next to the mangoove. in the morning they arrange a snorkling trip for us and let me tell you. you cannot miss out on this. we also snorkled in amed but that was nothing compared to the trip we had here. 10/10 would reccomend staying here!! I don't even have one bad thing to say about them and will return on my next trip 100%

I stayed here for one night but I wish that I could stay here longer. I will definitely come back as soon as I can. The staff was super helpful and made you feel right at home. The food was delicious and they had a lot of different options. The beds are really comfortable. I had a lot of fun at the Mangroove Bay Hostel playing darts or petanque. I would recommend this place to everyone!

The staff were incredibly helpful, even setting up a group chat with all the facilities to streamline communication. The food was delicious, and on my last day, I had the wonderful opportunity to sit with some of the staff who were making tipat. They kindly showed me how to make it myself, which was a fantastic experience. One of the best parts of staying at this hostel is its connection to the Sumberkima Hill Retreat hotel, its sister hotel. This means you have free access to most of their facilities, including two stunning infinity pools, which was truly next level. Additionally, there is a free shuttle bus that conveniently takes you from the hostel to the hotel and back.

I wasn't aware before arriving at the hostel, but the mangrove trees attract a lot of mosquitoes, so be prepared for quite a few bites. Additionally, the beach directly in front of the hostel isn't particularly special; you will need a boat to reach the best beaches in the area.

Huge pool, awesome facilities and you can even go with a free shuttle to the associated resort on the hill (definitely recommended for sunsets!) WiFi is great, there is a working area, comfy chairs everywhere, movie room, fully equipped kitchen… Bar and restaurant are also great but not cheap. Budget travellers better cook themselves or go to the close warungs. Yes the offered activities like yoga or snorkelling trip are more expensive but worth their money.

The pictures during the snorkelling trip were not included in the price and they only told us after returning. Would have been nice to tell us in advance

We stayed in Mangrove bay hostel for 4 nights. We were suppose to stay 3 but we extended. The service is super and the people are the kindest ever. We’ve stayed in the wooden cabin. It gave a lot of privacy. They brought drinks and food if you asked for it and kept everything clean. We’ve rented a scooter which was super easy. We booked diving and snorkeling at the hotel as well. The trip was super. They have a free shuttle which brings you up the mountain to do fun stuff like yoga or watch the sunset. In the end we were scammed by a man from the grap app. Gedeyasa Helped us out and arranged a safe driver. His service was so kind! Thanks to everyone from the hostel, you really made our stay special.

Mangroove is a lovely hostel/hotel with an amazing pool and restaurant. We booked a morning snorkelling trip through Mangroove. Do it! The reef is healthy with amazing schools of fish. Great fun. The staff are sweet and friendly. Big shout out to Yessir who helped us plan a fantastic day drip to Bali North National park.

The loud call to prayer from the mosque near by. First call was a 4.45am and (because it was the prophet's birthday during our stay) the morning call went for 2 hours! The hostel had no control over this and we were moved to a quiet room, which we loved.

The hostel was really clean with nice exterior and pool area. Yoga classes were great, staff were welcoming, and the WhatsApp was really useful for communicating transport. Food at the restaurant was good and had lots of options.

Not social at all so felt quite isolating as a solo traveller. A lot of activities were priced for 2 or more people to book so more difficult to do as solo traveller, such as Ijen hike which was a main reason for staying in the area. Mosquito nets in the dorm would be very welcome as there were a lot of mosquitos getting into the dorm room.

All staff that we met were super friendly and hospitable. The place feels new. They provide free filtered water. There’s a kitchen with a fridge and freezer where you can store you own food and drinks. There’s a pool, which we didnt use but it looks nice. A quiet rooftop area where u can do yoga etc. We stayed in one of the small wooden houses. It was cozy, comfortable bed.

Nothing of real interest in the neighboring area. Need to drive to get to a good beach or other places of interest. Also this property has a serious issue with mosquitos. Especially in the wooden house. The outdoor bathroom was absolutely full of them, and they got into the room as well.

The dorm beds were comfortable, and each bed had a curtain and wooden shelves, light, plug socket, so it was very private for not being a private room. The shower has been the best shower I've had during my travels. The bathroom is very nice in the dorm, like luxury. Pool was nice too, they have a comfy like lounge area where you can watch netflix if you know how to work it and kitchen so don't need to eat out all the time and could save money that way. They organise FREE shuttle services to their other locations, like the spa, pools, and restaurants. Also, if you stay for 4 nights or more, you get a voucher, the sauna, and ice baths or yoga class. The food was too good as well, I liked the mangroove restaurant food best, the katsu burger 🤤👌 Reception were friendly, they make a WhatsApp group for your room and help with any tours outwith the hotel. So, nothing to fault really.

Maybe the rooftop could have some bean bags and hammocks. It would be nicer to chill there at sunset

They have community facilities which are used for other villas. There are shuttles for these. These are excellent. The hostel facilities are excellent too There is working desks, yoga place and the pool is really good. The suma restaurant which you can get by shuttle too, has amazing view for sunset. The ice cream was super tasty too. I highly recommend to go to this restaurant. If you walk up little bit from suma restaurant, there is a bar with a pool billiard.
