It was an undeniably beautiful location and property! A bit remote, but that is part of the charm.

We felt a bit “trapped” once we arrived with little to do in the surrounding area easily. We had a hard time keeping young kids entertained, even though they had a playroom the toys were old, broken, and dirty with missing pieces. We took a guided trek to a waterfall, and while lovely, was hard for the kids (physically). Other than the pool, they had little in the way of entertainment for kids. We had to eat every meal there, and the menu got old by the 2nd day. While large, the beds were very hard with an uncomfortable separation in the middle.

I can't express enough how impressed I was with this resort! Having traveled extensively, I can confidently say this was one of my absolute favorites. If you're looking to immerse yourself in nature while staying in a breathtaking setting, this resort is perfect. Every detail is thoughtfully designed to help you relax—whether it’s enjoying the stunning infinity pool or dining in a restaurant that opens up to an endless, panoramic view. Our private villa was beautifully set up, making it not only a serene retreat but also a perfect spot for photography. Everything in this resort is designed to make you feel connected to nature—the spa, the restaurant, and even the warm hospitality of the staff, who provided an exceptional experience for our family with two older kids. One of the highlights of our stay was the village tour in the rain—an unforgettable experience that truly connected us with the local culture. The food was incredible, adding to the overall perfection of our stay. Thank you for everything! I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a truly special and memorable getaway.

We absolutely loved the place. The hotel is very nicely done, the rooms are beautiful, very well decorated & with a nice terrace. The setting is fabulous, very quiet, surrounded by rice terraces, great views. You can walk around the area (it's not overdeveloped) and with a car / motorbike you can explore the region & waterfalls. The pool is very nice and breakfast was also good. Fantastic customer service, we forgot sth and they were very helpful and nice about it.

Nothing really. Maybe the food in the restaurant could be a little more Indonesian spicy.

The resort looks generally okay. The services are nice, and you have everything inside. The restaurant is nice as well, with enough options for lunch and dinner and this resort has breathtaking views. We enjoyed the pool as well. Good location to take a short walk along rice terraces or watch the sunset. The small village close by has nothing tourist inside except a small coffee shop which we enjoyed.

I didn't use the wifi much except for a slow bandwidth as I could not upload any videos on my GoPro although this place is more about nature than tech. Also this is a place in the middle of nature and we saw 3 snakes around. The pool water temperature could be warmed but this might be my preference. Also breakfast options shall be much better and with more options and larger potions. I was disappointed on the "bread basket with jam selection" which was 3 slices of toast bread with not enough jam, just very little strawberry marmalade.

Poor choice in restaurant, fish was old, very little vegetarian. Some staff were rude about us in Balinese, assuming we didn’t understand

We stayed at a few villas around Bali and this retreat is a gem among rice field, it is a bit of driving from Munduk central but it is sp worth it. We chose to stay here 1 night for a last min trip in thr area, and we would have stayed longer if we had more time during the trip. It is where you come and feel relaxed and unplugged. The food at the restaurant was top-notch and was one of the best tastes we had during our 10 days trip around Bali Island. Lina the receptionist was wonderful, the restaurant staff was very friendly and attentive. The villa was clean and in great conditions with seriously and carefully designed ideas. Highly recommended!

Amazing location and sunset in the rice paddies. Beautiful decor. Gorgeous bathrooms. Dinner and breakfast served in the villa.

The rice paddies next to the villa were being harvested so we were kept awake by the sound of device that scares away birds while the fields are harvested. Any other time might be a lot quieter, but we struggled to sleep.

Wonderfully located in Munduk countryside and with a spectacular view. Very quiet, you can only hear the animals at night (mainly frogs and some birds). Even just in the patio next to our room was a relaxing and peaceful experience. Wonderful massage at the SPA (a massage-therapist named Astri gave excellent massages to our whole family, including our 6-year-old son)

We did not like the restaurant and since it is the only option, it spoiled our stay a bit. Many family with kids (mostly French), not many sun-beds near the pool, so it is often difficult to find a place to sit near the pool, as people occupy sun-beds for the whole day even when they are not around for a few hours. Staff should check a bit more.

We've had the pleasure of staying at Sanak Retreat twice now, and it continues to exceed our expectations. We were greeted with warm hospitality and attentive service. The facilities are top-notch, offering everything we need for a relaxing getaway. The stunning view from our room was simply breathtaking. We can't wait to return to Sanak Retreat again soon.

The views are exceptionally good! We loved our stay here and recommend it to anyone! Skip the sidemen area and go to Sanak Retreat Bali for the real Bali. The staff where great and everything was clean and tidy. Lots to do in the area all arranged by the hotel.
