Amazing view to the ocean Own ocean beach entry Tasty food Really clean room Friendly staff Many surfers
Villa had some thin gaps under the roof, so noice isolation was not good enough. We did not sleep well all nights due to the noice of the ocean and geckos which were hiding inside of the room. There are about 50 meters of stairs down to the hotel, so you should be physically prepared for them (hopefully the staff helped us to bring our luggages down and up).

The location is awesome; it has its own beach and the water is so clear. The ocean view is wonderful, falling asleep with waves sounds is healing.
It needs a bit of walk to the property and the step is steep. Also the personal items they provide is pretty simple. Like they didn’t have toothbrush, soaps and stuff. Hopefully can be more prepared.

It really felt authentic and genuine, we slept with calm waves sound and enjoyed our time at Rock’n Reef. Even though it’s little bit difficult to reach the resort however the staff helped to carry our luggage in and out of the resort.
Not having utilities for time use, but I think it’s part of the experience.

- Incredible ocean view and overall beautifully aesthetic room + communal areas - Lovely and friendly staff, very helpful - Wholesome breakfast, great local coffee - Small beach area, mostly suitable at low tide - Would really love to come back, just to wake up to stunning ocean views!
- Nothing really within quick walking distance in rain/heat - but with some perseverance the main road is approx 20 min walking - Steep/uneven steps to reach the bottom - definitely not for anyone with mobility impairment but manageable otherwise if you’re relatively fit and worth the view when you reach reception - Tough to carry heavy luggage up/down the stairs (pack light), definitely make use of the staff, for a small donation they carry your luggage for you - Carry earplugs for sleeping, the sound of waves crashing can be really loud during high tide

Location and views were amazing. Access to a small beach when tide is low. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Facilities in the room were basic but comfortable. Had amazing views from our room. Close walking distance about 10-15 min walk to Bingin beach. Scooter hire nearby to go to further beaches.
Many places around Uluwatu have very steep stairs and booked this place fully aware of reviews of the stairs. However I underestimated the stairs which are VERY steep and narrow and a work out in the heat! Stairs to our room were also very steep. However, there is an intercom at the entrance to ask for help from staff with bags would recommend using this as we didn’t and it was difficult with two heavy suitcases!

Let’s start at the beginning - I had excellent and very helpful communication from Canelle the manager before I even arrived. She arranged for my airport driver Wayan who deserves a big shout out. He was so polite, punctual, had a lovely vehicle, and was an excellent driver in the madness of Bali traffic. On top of that he carried my case down those stairs bounding like a mountain goat. He also retrieved me in the darkness of night for a 4am pick up - I would definitely recommend him! And yes, the stairs are not the easiest, but the path to perfection is never easy. Arriving at the bottom, I was transported into paradise where I stayed for the next 3 days. I stayed in Jo Malone, with the most phenomenal view from the balcony and the egg chair - perfect for a lazy afternoon of nature/surfer watching. The room was lovely and clean and cool with the AC. Very simply decorated but super comfortable with complimentary tea and coffee and a chargeable mini-bar if you like. When I could drag myself away from that view, the hotel restaurant terraces had lots of quirky spots to sit for a drink or food. The staff were always friendly and the food was really good! My personal favourite was the Bumbu chicken and one night my dinner was french toast and a bowl of fruit salad - just because I fancied it and it was delicious! The real magic of this place is location, location, location - to wake in the morning when the tide is out and go for a beach walk down to Padang Padang, swim and a snorkel before breakfast, was great. The rest of the day you can lay about on the sunbeds and watch the waves crashing against the rocks. Watch out for the turtles coming up for air when it’s high tide. In the late afternoon/evening the tide is out again and it’s so peaceful and magical - perfect for more snorkelling or a kayak/paddleboard if you like. There were so many varieties of fish just in our little bit of lagoon.
Nothing - it was great!

The hotel is beautifully located on the cliffs with amazing views just one step away from the ocean. The rooms were simple but ok. Staff was very friendly and dinner and cocktails, which they delivered to our room, delicious. If one just wants to relax and enjoy the ocean, this is the hotel to book.
Please notice that getting to the hotel means having to take steep stairs. Staff is willing to help with luggage though. Our bathroom smelled when we showered and the window above our entrance door was broken. For breakfast there’s only three options.

The photos of the room do not do justice to what you see. The views of the Indian ocean just outside your window were breathtaking. Additionally, the staff was very kind and warm. The homecooked style meals were delicious, and breakfast every day there was a delight. Even though the stairs up and down the property are a bit challenging at first, you get used to them, and they should not stop you from staying at this lovely hotel. I would definitely stay here if I visit Bali again in the future.
At night, the road leading up to the property is a little dark, so it can be a bit scary. I'm not sure if the hotel can add a few lights along the path, but it would be perfect :)

The view was amazing! And for what we've had to trek through to get to the location, it's 100% worth it! Knowing how busy the regular public beaches would've been, it was nice having an almost private beach to ourselves. The waves were right below my window! The feeling of waking up and going to sleep with the sound of the thunderous ocean was like relaxing. I love the balcony and spent hours just sat there, looking out into the ocean. The resort has a small exit to the left that goes directly to the beach, which i only found out about the morning we were about to leave. Food there was mediocre. Nothing much to write home about. Staff were amazing! Everyone was smiley and helpful and professional, which made our stay that much enjoyable, even if it were for one night.
Food options and quality. But the view made up for it.

The staff went above and beyond for their guests. Walking those stairs is hard enough as it is without carrying anything. The fact that they managed to carry our 20kg suitcases up them amazes me. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. I love the coastal vibe of them.
The only thing that we have to complain about is the monkeys surrounding the hotel - which is completely not a big deal and out of the hotel’s control. They are a part of the Balinese culture and have to be respected. We absolutely enjoyed everything.
