Starling Villas are great value for money. The decor is a little like 80's eclectic had a baby with moroccan bohemia. We arrived late at night but were greeted by the Manager. The Villa is large. One side is the bedroom and bathroom. The other is the kitchen and lounge area. A glass sliding door divides the two areas. There are heavy black curtains you can close if one person is asleep and the other is awake or to shut out the daylight. The rooms are older but well kept and clean. The bathroom had a shower and bath. The bath would be difficult to get in and out if you have mobility issues as it's very tall and deep. The shower is easy to access. The villa itself is good if you have mobility issues as there is only a small step to get inside and the rest of the villa is one level. Side note: We don't have mobility issues but I'm aware we will one day. The kitchen has the basics including a cook top. No microwave. Bottled water on tap which is great. The TV is tiny but you're on holiday so who cares and it has Netflix. The location was great. Starling Villas is located in a quiet side street in Sanur. You cannot hear the traffic at all. It sits between the main road in Sanur and the Bypass Rd. Grab and Gojek had no problem in finding the Villas. You also get a free cat with every room. The resident cats are very friendly. There is an outdoor communal pavilion where you can eat and there is a microwave there. We never used the pool but it was clean and looked nice. There were a few families staying there at the same time as us. Despite the little kids floating around it was really quiet. The rooms were cleaned every day. There are quite a few restaurants very near by and as mentioned, the main road through Sanur is only 400 metres away. There are a lot of very good restaurants, spas and shops nearby. There is a supermarket just around the corner on the main street. I rate Starling Villas very highly for value for money.

The door to the bathroom had to be locked if you wanted it shut as the latch didn't work but that's just me being picky. We did get a swarm of small bugs every day in the bathroom but they stayed on the roof so after spraying them one day we didn't bother when they returned because they stayed on the roof and left us alone. The couch in the lounge needs a thicker cushion.

A beautiful sanctuary with amazing gardens, shrubs, gazebo and pool . We enjoyed the fact we were self contained and could cook if we wanted . That was a luxury. Muri our host and Simon the Groundsman were exceptional and made our stay wonderful. They were so helpful in every way... And always with big smiles. Nothing was too much for them . Thoroughly recommend this 'oasis' for short or long stays

The kitchen could have more utensils, but it was adequate.

This place is a gem! We had such an amazing time at starling villas. Muri is a wonderful host, super helpful, friendly and supportive. Our little daughter was sick and she helped us a lot in finding an appointment with a doctor. She also gave us a lot of nice recommendations and it was great to spend time with her and the team. The accommodation itself is very well equipped, nice chill-out area, cute pool and very laid back atmosphere. There are a couple nice warungs around the corner and it’s a short walk to the beach :) we extended our stay and would recommend this place to everyone going to Sanur! Thank you for everything ♥️

Was a bit dated and could do with an update. Very small patio with little privacy

After a wonderful 17 days at Starling Villas, we were so happy with our stay. The location is fantastic, within easy walking distance to most of Sanur's attractions. The villas (only 6 in total) were very spacious and comfortable with most of the facilities you need for a pleasant stay. The bed, and especially the pillows, was so comfortable and the hot water was a continuous gas heating system with plenty of pressure (not always a feature of other Bali properties). The garden and pool were ideal and very well maintained. The common area contained a toaster and microwave and a refrigerator containing drinks available for purchase. Although situated in a reasonably busy part of Sanur it was always very quiet - in fact we did not hear one rooster during our entire stay and the local dogs were unobtrusive. The local supermarket was only a 5 minute walk away for those wanting to self-cater - we did for one night only as the range of eateries in the area was limitless. Many thanks to Muri and Simon for their wonderful hospitality and their happy and friendly attention to all their guests. We look forward to our next stay in Sanur and hopefully Starling Villas will have a place for us although they are understandably very popular with people from around the world.

Not really a dislike but more of a suggestion - the crockery and glasses were a bit limited and mis-matched and a better range of saucepans would have been nice. This was discussed with Muri and I am sure will be looked at shortly.

Perfect location. About a 10 minutes walk to restaurants and supermarkets and about 15 minutes to the beach and boardwalk. The central common area was ideal to sit and have a drink and enjoy the garden and the pool was great and much needed. The air conditioning in the bedroom was much needed and the free drinking water was a huge bonus. Muri and her team were amazing and went above and beyond to ensure you have a comfortable stay.

Whilst the Villa was comfortable and did provide the basics you needed, it was a little dated. The living area was really hot as only had a ceiling fan, so spent more time in the bedroom.

Only of our age it was a little bit far from main area and beach. It was roomy. Plenty of space. I would have liked aircon in living area. It was very hot in the afternoons.

Tv could have been better and a comfy chair for relaxing in the living room.

I really liked the location and the way the hotel is set up. It is very relaxing to sit out in the atrium by the pool with all the plants and flowers surrounding you. The hotel pool area is all enclosed with the rooms making the walls surrounding this lovely area. Very safe and mostly quiet. You can swim in the pool or relax in the lounge chairs surrounded by the greenery and flowers. The rooms are a very good size with kitchen, living room, large bedroom room, dressing room and the bathroom. You also have a front porch to sit outside your room and enjoy the view, sunshine and fresh air.

I would say the only thing I didn't like is the rain we had at times which excited the flies and they bugged me when I would like to sit outside and read. Also the rain created problems in the area on the roads. NO problems in the resort but access roads to the resort swell with water.

Great location with walking distance to Main Street, minimart, eateries and beach. Sound proofing is excellent, I slept like a baby. Muri was very responsive to all our requests and made our stay an excellent one, it definitely wouldn’t be great without it her! The pool was very clean and my kids enjoyed their pool time a lot, we were also blessed with good weather. There is a communal area with fridge and oven/ toaster which is very convenient. There is also fridge and a small kitchenette in our unit. The unit had a TV which we can cast our movies using our phone, this is really handy and we appreciate that.

Our little villa was quirky ,quiet and comfortable muri our host was just a beautiful kind soul that makes you happier just being in her presence we felt so at home.The location was great close to some iconic warungs and 5 minutes walk too the main road were you will find cafes ,restaurants ,supermarkets and pharmacies very convenient and maybe a 10 minute walk to the beach if that ,what more do you need !! The bed was comfortable ,Villa clean and we felt safe we loved Muris resident cats too they would come up for a pat each day the gardens were very pretty and the pool was clean definitely we will go back and stay Thank you 🙏muri we will be back to stay with you what a hidden Gem !!
