I booked based on the great reviews and I was not disappointed! A beautiful, spacious, super clean room. Nice furnishings and practical details like bedside lamp, outlets and mosquito net. (though I never had to use the net) The bathroom is large, shower is excellent with plenty of hot water and good pressure. The terrace with a lounge bed, table and chairs overlooks the small garden, surrounding hills and Mt. Agung. A perfect spot to relax, watch birds, the occasional torrential downpours and listen to the chorus of frogs at night. Breakfast was served on the terrace and was tasty and generous. The warung was not open to the public during my stay but they were happy to cook meals for their guests. I tried several warungs around Sideman but in the end I found their meals at Maha Neka very tasty and good value. Sideman is a beautiful, peaceful place. there is a lot to explore in the region either on foot or by scooter. The hosts are lovely, always there if needed, and happy to help.

Maha Neka hosts 2 villas of guests. It is located in a beautiful and green garden, not only surrounded by nature but with an amazing view on Mount Aging. The villa is really nice, with plenty of space, a big comfortable bed, and a great private terrace to have breakfast with the best view! The bathroom is also very modern, clean, and big. The entire place is just perfect and super quiet at night. On top of that, the hosting family is extremely friendly and kind. The location of Maha Neka makes everything in Sidemen pretty accessible, so I highly recommend it! You get so much value for a cheap price.

We really enjoyed our stay at Maha Neka. The place and facilities are very basic, but it was all we needed. The views from the terrace are fantastic and the people running this place are so lovely. We were able to rent a scooter directly from them. The location is really good, close to great warungs and cafes, but you’ll need a scooter to get around Sidemen and other areas. Note that the villa has some permanently open holes in the walls (for ventilation, I assume), which means some geckos and bugs will inevitably make their way in. The sound of the surrounding nature was also quite loud during the night - personally, I didn’t mind and slept really well, but my partner had to use ear plugs.

Maha Neka is a little gem in beautiful Sidemen. The bungalow is beautifully furnished, incredibly comfortable and with a gorgeous view of Mount Agung. Apart from being outrageously good value for money (definitely get breakfast included), what sets it apart is the genuine warmth and attentiveness of the hosts, Ari and Ayu. They made us feel so at home and went above and beyond to take care of us. We were sad to leave and we'll definitely be back!

I loved my stay at Maha Neka! Such beautiful hosts who welcomed me in like family. I arrived on a cloudy rainy afternoon, so it was a magical surprise to wake up to a picturesque view of Mt Agung from my room. The room itself is spacious and comfortable with a fan and mosquito nets. Breakfast was amazing, and I highly recommend having dinner with Maha Neka too, everything I tried was delicious and so authentic. Great location, great price and the loveliest hosts. I hope to come back one day and I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Sidemen!

We loved Maha Neka and its owners! Such a nice family that goes extra mile to make you feel like home. I read in previous comments that there’s a building now obstructing the view. I didn’t find that as a problem considering the other building blends with the nature. That’s definitely not a reason not to choose this place. The room was spacious and very clean, the garden same, and it’s a big plus that they have their own restaurant if you’re not in the mood of going out. Loved it! Will definitely come back!

The villa is run by a very nice family, Ari offered very fairly-priced accommodation and taxi services that we used. Location is great, relatively quiet and close to the restaurants around, walking distance. They also helped us to get fruits as fruit shops and market are far away, and we didn't rent any scooter. Bathroom is very spacious, water pressure was great. We got custom-made breakfast. And we had a few interesting and deep discussions about Balinese culture and beliefs and life in general.

The mattress is not the most comfortable one, but it depends how long you stay there. There's also now a construction going on in front of the villa that blocks the view, although you can still see mount Agung in good weather.

Nice quiet location, simple, functional independent little house.

The extra activities organized by the owner were expensive. Our recommendation is to write down the promised price. E.g. We believed we agreed on a different price vs what we were charged for an afternoon trip to the temple (700 Rps to go to Besakih and back!). Climbing to Mt. Batur next to the passing motorcycles was also not a top experience. Make sure that the guide takes a different route. That left a bitter aftertaste.

Arrived in Sideman and welcomed so kindly with my hosts, Ari and his wife. My room was very clean and comfortable. Little personal touches like soap and fresh drinking water. The shower was powerful and always warm. Outside is a bed and seating which is wonderful to view the countryside. Breakfast was included and delicious, especially Ari’s banana pancake! Easy to walk to some great restaurants and spa. Loved the sounds of the frogs at nigh! No a/c but a really efficient fan - It was such a delight being here and incredibly affordable. Thank you!

I couldn’t have stayed longer!

The breakfast was excellent. The rooms were extremely peaceful and easy to sleep in at night. The staff were exceptional and even drove 2 hours to give us some items we left at the hotel and also dropped us to our new hotel after our stay . The location has plenty of good warungs and restaurants and all the attractions are a short drive on a scooter or car away. I loved my stay here and would love to come back .
