Staff was the highlight for the hotel, very friendly, accomodating and helpful. My initial room had some strange smell which didnt go till next morning, location of this room was close to street which made sleeping impossible. Next day after i raised the concern it was promptly changed to inside facing room. Daily activities were good.

Strong damp smell and noise in first room, saw fringed towels few times, room service tray had small ants. I didnt raise most of these concerns except the room issue. Located far from the main Ubud town though there is shuttle service but traffic caused long delays on few occasions. No other activities near to hotel and only mode of transport was cars or hotel shuttles.

Loved the warm welcome, beautiful lobby, nice large comfy rooms, great bar, beautiful pools.

The location, the view, the facilities, the experience, the daily activities arranged by the hotel. All was superb. The service was exceptional, they went extra mile to make sure that we have a pleasant stay.

For the price, i think the quality and food selection in room service could really be improved. No complaints on the breakfast buffet though. It was superb.

The Sthala is run like a dream by an exceptional staff team who really understand their roles and how to make guests feel looked after. Excellent choice of breakfasts, quiet terrace spaces when they're needed and excellent positioning overlooking nature and trees made it an excellent base for our long stay in Ubud.

I had an amazing time in Sthala. A great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the center. The staff from those at the front desk, to the restaurant and the bar and housekeeping are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, special thanks to (Tya, Krisna, Pande) and so many others. The spa is also great value for money.

The staffs were friendly and helpful all. I would thank Juli & Prandila for their support & nice words. In addition I would thank the shuttle’s driver to Ubud’s center for his patience. I love you guys all. last message to Hotel’s GM you have very good staffs, please take care of them & I wish you the best in your life.

just its location as it is far from Ubud’s center. but as long as they have free shuttles dropping & pick up to their hotel it is fine.

The staff is above and beyond expectations. Service-oriented, polite and kind. Remembered my name and my daughters name from the get-go. Loved the personnel‘s attitude. The hotel and its grounds are full of art, clean and well-kept. Impeccable cleaning and room service.

Really nothing. Sometimes the inexperience of bartenders in the Naga bar made me smile. But I’m sure they‘ll improve with practice (they‘re non-drinkers after all).

Multiple Staff with the same question will keep annoying you by asking what is your plan for today, how long will you stay in Ubud specially when you are doing breakfast. You need that space without someone interrupt you again and again. Shuttle to ubud central is having limited occupancy(10) with such big hotel and on request they do not run extra shuttle. Hence you may have to arrange a taxi and pay extra for that.

This was my second time staying at Sthala and it won’t be my last. We absolutely loved everything about our stay, from the staff to the food to the rooms, the pool, everything was great. We loved the free daily activities as well which are 3 times per day. Breakfast was amazing and the restaurant looks out over the river which is beautiful. Everywhere was clean and the rooftop bar is beautiful for watching the sunset. All of the staff were very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us, especially Agus, Agung and Dek War - thank you!

The only thing is you can’t walk to ubud centre - there is a free shuttle provided by the hotel though

Amazing facilities, amazing staff, I felt pampered by all of the staff during my whole stay, they were always so kind and attentive! They paid attention to my request to avoid having lizards close to my room (doorstep and balcony). It is beautifully located, an absolutely calm place for relaxing. Breakfast is very nice, it has many options and you have the opportunity to enjoy breakfast with the view and sound of the river. The room is really clean and comfortable, exactly as it is on the hotels from Marriott Group. Loved that they had a coffee machine, despite the fact that they only provided my room with one capsule. They have two pools, one of them facing the river, which is absolutely gorgeous. As the hotel is located far from the center, they have a free shuttle bus to Ubud Center plenty of times during the day, which was outstanding for me. Great food! Amazing spa!!

Lizards/geckos, there are a lot of lizards/geckos around the hotel (but thankful never in the room). I know it's actually not the hotel's fault, there are a lot of lizards/geckos throughout the whole island and mostly in Ubud, but I'm just addressing this in case it's a concern to anyone as it has been to me. Some of the areas of the hotel could be cleaner (mostly the corridors and ceiling corners), as it can end up spoiling the 5 stars of the hotel. There are some bushes on the side of the entrance of the rooms which could be more taken care of, as it looks like it's not well maintained.
