The staff here are exceptional; every person we met was so warm and welcoming and made us feel so at home on our honeymoon! The villas themselves are beautiful and it's so wonderful to have a restaurant and spa onsite despite the small number of villas, it's wonderful. Great selection for breakfast and nice offers at the restaurant.

This is no fault of the property, just something to be aware of - the villas aim to incorporate living with nature into the rooms which means that the bathroom is outdoors and with a rustic design, there are plenty of cracks for geckos, bugs, etc, to get into the room at night! This will be no problem if you are fully prepared, which I guess I was not and I felt quite unnerved on the first night but I adjusted quickly. Also note no air conditioning in the restaurant which is fully outdoors and the location is a bit far from Ubud, but this is okay as the hotel can provide taxi service at a low price and local taxis will also take you there without issue for a low price also.

Our stay at Aswanaya Villas was absolutely beautiful – peaceful, elegant villas surrounded by nature, delicious food, and kind, warm-hearted staff. It was the perfect place to relax. But what truly made this trip unforgettable was Ngakan – our driver, guide, helper, and now a dear friend. He took care of us in ways we never expected. When my mom injured her ankle, his knowledge and gentle massage somehow helped her walk again without pain. When we weren’t feeling well, he brought us tea, coconut water, herbs, and so much care – always remembering, always checking in. He noticed every little thing before we even asked. We always felt safe with him, supported, and truly cared for. He showed us everything we wanted to see – and even more. Thanks to him, our trip was not only extraordinary, it was meaningful. He’s the reason we want to come back to Aswanaya – and we already miss him! 🥰❤️

Beautiful villas near Ubud, in a very calm place. We rented a bike and it was great to do daily trips. There is a little restaurant as well, staff was really nice and tried to help us in everything. Dia and another guy was really nice as he gave us a jacket to get to mount Batur. The garden is beautiful, we had such a relaxing time there after a long day. Private yoga classes are very recommended, it was just simply amazing.

The service of reception was a bit chaotic, as we asked for a massage at the reception but when we got there it was already occupied. The reception told us it will be in our room but this was what we did not asked for. As its a small hotel with 6 villas i really think they need to have more attention on details, for example, get the motorbike ready once we get there and give more information when we ask for. Breakfast was average, comparing to other hotels.

This beautiful property has a small collection of villas just outside Ubud. You feel like you have a private resort with just a dozen other guests. The villas are lovely and have a bit of a "glamping" feel since the attached covered bathroom is partially outdoors with a rock floor and open area near shower. At night, the air is alive with the buzz of crickets and exotic birds. The staff is amazing. Extremely friendly, attentive to detail and they always knew who we were and which villa we stayed at. We enjoyed a couples Balinese massage just steps from our villa, which was wonderful. We can't say enough nice things about how this establishment is run. Just top notch.

Restaurants and shops aren't really walkable close by. The twice daily shuttle to Ubud is great, but can take time when traffic is congested.

Me and my wife been in 4 different hotel's in around Bali and no doubt Aswanaya is by far the best hotel/villa in Ubud and in all Bali. 5 star's in all aspect's. Super good welcome by the employer's, all complex super well preserve, pool area super clean and perfect design with all the flower trees and palm trees. Amazing flavour breakfast, a big cumpliment for the cooker's. Room very clean, very confortable, bathroom very clean also with towel's change everyday. Superb sunrise, location, incense everynight. Small detail's that make all the difference. A big big suksma to all team who made our stay so perfect. Wish all hotel's/villa's were like aswayana. Congrat's to the owner/boss of Aswanaya! Hope to see you soon!

Absolutly nothing I didn't like

This is an exceptional property in a part of Ubud that has a more rural feel and not in the immediate downtown area. Very peaceful and serene. We are really impressed with the property and our villas are incredible. We booked the two bedroom, two bathroom villas with private pool and fencing. Heaven!! Staff have been very kind and accommodating to our requests for assistance. We hired a private guide for three days of local touring and to drive us to the airport. He was amazing with great English and a wealth of information about the best things to see and do. He was able to answer our questions and gave excellent explanations for what we did were seeing.

Communication in English has been a problem with staff and drivers. Both times we used the driver from the property ( for transportation from the port to the property on day 1 and for a half day touring on day 2 ) he didn't speak English and knew only a very few words, so conversation and instructions for him to act as our guide were strained and very difficult. He was unable to answer questions or give explanations about our excursions. Reception area staff has slightly better English but not really fluent. Waitresses have very little English in the restaurant making food orders difficult and easily misunderstood. We were unable to ascertain what other language might be spoken other than Balinese.

The staff at the villa are very polite and try their hardest for you to enjoy the villa. The huts are spacious and it’s close to Ubud (a grab scooter ride away maybe 15mins max). A mosquito net is provided around the bed, which I would have preferred to have been left untied back, whilst I was out for the day.

The hut is positioned next to a working rice field so be careful leaving lights on the in the bathroom as it can attract insects/ bugs. I would recommend a smaller sized mesh on the window of the bathroom.

Everything from start to finish at this property was exceptional. The staff were extremely polite, friendly, helpful and attentive. We booked a room with a private pool and it was stunning! The facilities were clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable. We also used the hotels laundry service and it was very reasonably priced and quick. The Milkshakes were out of this world! Would and will definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone.

There isn’t anything we didn’t like.

The property was well maintained, clean and small enough not to feel like a bustling resort. It had a very relaxed atmosphere. The staff were courteous, friendly and helpful in organising taxis to travel into Ubud. The two bedroomed Villa with its own pool was a lovely way to start our Bali vacation.

The property is next to a road that is not suitable to walk anywhere… but we knew about this when we booked. The hum of the traffic was constant but we got used to it. Next door is a venue (not sure what type, possibly a community or religious venue) but at times it was rather loud for a couple of hours in the evening.

Traditional but modern Balinese villas in a private setting just off one of the busy main roads in to Ubud. We stayed in a two bed villa (actually two spacious one bedroom villas together without indoor access to each other) in a private walled garden with lovely pool. Quality fittings and natural materials throughout. Very comfy beds. Beautiful separate huge bathrooms with bath and shower and a spectacular loose stone floor made with river stones and bigger flat stepping stones. Fantastic, friendly staff, nice restaurant facilities (open breakfast lunch and dinner and seemingly most of the day) in a beautiful relaxed area (covered outdoor space) overlooking communal swimming pool and surrounding rice fields. Massages available in hut next to swimming pool. Because of its small size in terms of number of villas - the resort feels very private, exclusive and uncrowded.
