A truly special stay – we felt like home! We stayed at Sami’s place for 3.5 weeks and honestly, it couldn’t have been better. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcomed and safe. Sami is one of the kindest and most genuine people we’ve met during our travels. No matter what the issue was – he was always quick to help and never let us feel like we were on our own. That’s what truly made our stay so special. A big thank you also to Sami‘s lovely family – their hospitality and friendly nature made our time even more enjoyable. The room is perfect – very clean, well-equipped, and the price is very fair. The pool is amazing and the lounge area is super comfy – perfect for couples, two friends traveling together, or solo travelers. Breakfast is great – and please, try the banana pancakes – they’re the best we’ve ever had! 😍 We also read in some reviews that the location is a bit remote, but in our opinion, it really isn’t. With a scooter, you’re in the city center of Ubud in 15–20 minutes. And being slightly outside also means you get to see some beautiful and quieter corners of the area. We always felt completely safe and truly welcome – it felt like a home away from home. Little tip for other travelers: If you’re into good coffee and/or tattoos, go down the street to “Crocoffee” – amazing coffee and super friendly people. We got 4 tattoos done there in total (including a full sleeve!) for a very good price and great quality. Also check out BeautyByKris for cosmetic treatments and Sesari Spa for a really relaxing and professional massage. Another bonus: if you don’t feel like going out to eat every night, you can use Sami’s kitchen in the afternoon to cook your own meals – super convenient! All in all, we’re incredibly grateful for this stay and will 100% come back. Thank you, Sami – you made this feel like home.

The bathroom could use a little renovation, but honestly, that didn’t bother us at all. This is just something for picky people to consider – for us, everything else made up for it a hundred times over.

The staff (Bli Sami & Gek Ayu) really helpful. ask them and they’ll try their best to help you. For me, it was when they helped me with the laundry. they willing to take and picking up with no additional charge. also the motor rental is the best. cheap with a reliable unit (I got Vario 125cc for Rp 80k). the room and bathroom is spacious. a lot of mirror. cool AC, reliable hot water. you can use the kitchen as well to make coffee or tea by your own with no additional charge! the breakfast is great. you got sliced papaya, dragon fruit, and watermelon also choice of banana pancake/scrambled egg/omelete which all is delicious.

there’re a lot of flies. if you eat outside, you might need to shoo shoo the flies 😁

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful place, and I must say it was an outstanding experience. The primary reason for this exceptional stay was the host, Mr. Sami. He is truly an extraordinary individual, always eager to assist and make the guests feel comfortable. During our stay, we had the opportunity to rent his bike, which allowed us to explore the beautiful surroundings with ease. Mr. Sami was incredibly accommodating; he even permitted us to use the kitchen to prepare some quick meals, which was a delightful surprise. I stayed there for two nights and wished I could have extended my stay. Unfortunately, there were no available rooms. However, Mr. Sami went above and beyond to ensure our continued comfort by helping us find another excellent accommodation just 300 meters away. To top it off, he graciously transported our luggage on his bike without charging us a single paisa. Mr. Sami's kindness, willingness to help, and dedication to providing an exceptional experience truly make him deserving of the highest praise. As this is appraisal time, I wholeheartedly give him a rating of FAR FAR EXCEED. I highly recommend staying at this place for anyone looking for a memorable and hospitable experience

This place was very humble, beautiful and comfortable. As a solo traveler it was an excellent place to rest, work and Sami’s hospitality was exceptional, he made me feel at home and he was always eager to help in any way he can. Overall, whether you’re solo or a couple, you should definetly stay here. The place is clean, great breakfast , great wifi and excellent hospitality. I came to Bali first time on FEB 2025 . And my first place was CASA D SAMI. I am so happy to booked this place and Meet Sami. He is the best and most knid person i meet in Bali. I highly recommended his place and service . Staff was so so helpful . I love it and i will return again. You can trust Sami. Get all the information from him. He arrange Airport transport also. My sister and I lived for a month in the guest house D'semi and our rating is definitely 5 stars. The breakfast is fresh and tasty, the area is always clean, the room is cleaned daily and the hosts of the guest house are always friendly. There is always a feeling of home because Sami and his family will always prompt and help with any questions. Thank you very much Sami and his family for such a warm welcome and good attitude.

Staff is nice, friendly and helpful. Location is calming , good and nearest to all waterfalls and ATB ride area. Owner also provide rental scooter at very low cost. He was a guide in earlier days as he said, so he also described history of bali and culture of this island.Rooms and Kitchen was very clean.Breakfest is good and all food provided are fresh. Regular cleaning of pool and rooms. We highly recommend to stay here if visited to Ubud.

Sami was an excellent host, very experienced in hospitality and tourism and a passionate and active community member of his village.We appreciated the experience of living simply and humbley as that's what the accommodation is about. Breakfasts were great. We didn't use a motorbike so utilised a great Hotel across the road for evening meals. Accessed transport for trips into main Ubud and surrounds.Thank you for sharing your journey with us Sami.

We're light sleepers, so with thin walls and backing onto local villagers with lots of active roosters (3..30 am was the beginning of the chorus and continued spasmodically until well after dawn)and barking dogs during the night it was good to get an early night to bed and some peaceful hours of sleep.We appreciate this is to be expected in village life.

What a delightful stay! So impressed and happy with our time at Casa D'Sami. Welcomed so warmly by Sami and his family from the minute we arrived. The location is about a 15 minute bike ride from the centre of Ubud which we thought was perfect, lovely and peaceful but within a good distance of the main attractions. Delicious breakfast every morning with good variety and unlimited tea, coffee and water available. We even came back from our Mt Batur hike a little after breakfast had ended and we were still able to have some, very kind. The room was very comfortable and clean and a great size, good water temperature and pressure in the shower too. Bed was made and bin changed daily if needed and we had laundry done too which was easy and quickly done. We also rented a great bike for a very good rate during our stay. I honestly cannot recommend enough, we wanted to stay another night but they were fully booked - easy to see why!
