It is an iconic location out from Ubud, facing a forest at the heart of the local community. Local home-front shops provide stuff for a bare living—a loving community surrounded by many paddy fields. Tropical weather unveiled the beauty of the forest, river, and the fall. Got to be in one of the villas.

As way of preface, I'd like to note, I'm not usually the type of traveller to leave reviews, typically I keep my travel experiences to myself, if it was bad, it's not my problem to warn the world, if it was great, I just enjoy the time and move on with my life, it's not my job to rate and review my entire life so some stranger can read it and decide whether to spend money on a hotel. But in the case of this hotel, the reviews are so off the wall bonkers, I deemed it necessary to at least inject a little perspective. Obviously if you're going to decide whether to stay based on a series of arbitrary reviews, that's your business. Here's the deal, this hotel is great. If you want to stop reading now, by all means. If you'd like me to go on, here it is: Ubud is a zoo, everything near downtown is clogged with traffic, this place is not that. A tranquill slice of peace in the mountains with one of the most stunning views I had in maybe all of Bali. You can order a car, it will take you downtown, its very easy, feel free, but it's great to come back here after. The grounds are well maintained, and cared for. The pools were lovely and refreshing. The breakfast, which voluminous numbers of reviewers here took the time to gripe about is just fine. Filling and tasty, there are several options, it comes out fast and hits the spot. The dinner is pricey, but you do you, there are plenty of options around the area. So if you've read this far and are on the fence, don't be, book away, you'll be fine.

I recently had the pleasure of staying in Ubud, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience. The staff at the hotel were incredibly kind and attentive, always going above and beyond to make sure my stay was perfect. They helped me discover the hidden gems of Ubud, offering great recommendations and even arranging drivers for any excursions or errands I needed. The Room where I stayed was absolutely stunning, spacious, and luxurious—truly a retreat within a retreat. It had every amenity I could possibly need and more. As for the location, it was simply perfect. Nestled in the heart of Ubud, I was surrounded by lush nature, yet still close to all the cultural hotspots, restaurants, and shops. I couldn't have asked for a better place to experience the magic of Bali. Overall, my stay was exceptional, and I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Ubud!

We arrived late in the night so we could not see around too much. But when we woke up in the morning we realized that we are in Heaven!!! So nice propertly, pool, yoga places, many areas to do things! The staff was so kind and the General Manager helped us a lot, I cannot believe how kind are these people on this resort. We have our toddler with us and they cooked her special piuree exactly how we asked. I cannot rate more but everything was excellent. I am travelling a lot but Tanah Merah&the staff was something apart. Love you all, keep it like this!

Fantastic breakfast, beautiful location, amazing architecture and a lot of thought had gone into the spacious rooms. A wide and varied selection of great local art across the resort and in the bedrooms and corridors gave this place a real Balian feel. This hotel is just a short / cheap taxi ride from Central Ubud but far enough out to avoid the crowds

There was a bar / restaurant there but being there with the kids it would have been nice if the less formal or pool bar was open in the afternoons / evenings for snacks and the occasional drink

I thoroughly enjoyed the tranquility of the area which greatly contributed to a relaxing experience. It felt like Boeing in m middel of the forrest. The pool was lovely, and the cabin impressed me with its spacious layout, including its own private location nesr the pool. The overall appearance of the hotel was also very appealing. Additionally, the surroundings of the hotel were quite pleasant.

I found the restaurant's food and beverage pricing to be quite high. Given the quality and service, it might be worthwhile to reassess your pricing strategy. The breakfast was adequate at first, but I noticed a lack of variety over several days. Adding more options could greatly improve the morning experience for guests. Although there were many mosquitoes in the cabin, the staff did provide covers and mosquito coils, which helped. However, making the cabins less open could further prevent mosquitoes from entering so easily. Regarding the location, although it was a bit far from the center, traveling by scooter was convenient and the route was scenic, enhancing the overall experience.

The place is secluded and quiet which is a nice place to relax. We got several rooms which are big size. The rooms can actually accommodate four people but booking.com does not show the option to add more pax even if the room has two queen size beds. The resort has a very nice museum which showcase an impressive collection of artifacts, jewels, and arts from Indonesia and around the world. Overall I like the place.

Limited choice of food. They have two restaurants and they charge dollar rates in one and IDR in another. They do not allow you to order food from one restaurant to be served In conjunction with your other food ordered from the other restaurant. Since there are limited food available for groups, it is better to plan to eat outside. Breakfast is very basic as well so you get bored on the third and fourth day of our stay.

This place is INCREDIBLE. It's worth the splurge. The rooms are all unique, beautiful, and functional, the staff is very friendly, the breakfast is very nice, and the property is amazing. We could see wild monkeys in the trees from our balcony, and we spent quite a bit of the time at the 2 different pools. Also, we got engaged a couple days prior to our stay, and a friend from the US reached out to the property via email to plan a surprise for us. The property provided champagne, folded animal towel designs, and created beautiful shapes and words with flower petals and such. The staff really went above in beyond in all they did for those who stayed there.

It's about a 20 minute drive to Ubud city center, just because of tiny roads and traffic. Grabs are cheap, though, and they will get you where you need to go. We typically like staying in the heart of the action, but we really enjoyed our quiet, serene location and then just traveling into the busy parts of the city for dinner in the evenings.

I loved the views, the serene atmosphere, the sound of the waterfall when sitting on the deck by the small pool, a wonderful massage by Tina, the authentic architecture, the walks around the complex

The fact that it was not possible (in my opinion as an older citizen) to go for walks around the area as there are no footpaths so unless I hired transport I could not leave the complex. I also would have liked to go down to the actual waterfall to meditate by the water but the steps down are in my opinion not safe. No handrails. I was going to walk down but realised that if I went down on my own I may have a fall and no one would realise. It may be a nice idea for a member of staff to take groups down at allocated times for safety reason. Also disappointing that there was no one available to lead yoga sessions
