What a lovely hotel, the riverside location was just wonderful. The complimentary phot shoot a real novelty and great entertainment on offer.

The meal portion sizes on the Indonesian night were a little small. There was also a very strange domestic violence issue the night stayed. A woman was screaming for her life (and also her young baby) and the entire hotel was awoken due to the horrific episode and the open stairwell. Everyone called reception to alert security but it seemed to take hours for the matter to settle after discussing with other guests. This unfortunate event wasn’t the hotel’s fault but it did make me question my safety overnight. And very sad for the poor woman and baby involved.

We had a villa with a pool which was lovely. Staff were helpful at all times, breakfast and dinners we had were all lovely. We used the spa facilities too which were fantastic. Couldn’t fault our stay at all! Note on the shuttle - The hotel is a little bit out of Ubud but the shuttle service was always really good. Some reviews we read before we stayed said it took an hour to get to Ubud but we never experienced this at all and always made it in good time - we did go in at 9am though!

Only thing we felt the villa needed was a bit more light, as felt a bit dark sometimes.

Having arrived late at night following an 18 hour flight, we were greeted by a complimentary dinner in the room. From the start, the staff were amazing - throughout our stay they would greet us each time we arrived/left, help us out with all of our needs and always speak to us as we walked about the hotel. We have never stayed at such a friendly hotel - the nicest staff you could imagine! The room was gorgeous - being our honeymoon, the honeymoon package left the room feeling romantic. Each day, it was cleaned to a high standard. The bed was comfy and the room (with the balcony overlooking a spectacular forest view) was luxurious. Sankara also provided everything we needed from toiletries and bathroom essentials to lovely fresh fruit and refreshments. Our two highlights, in addition to the room and general aesthetic of the hotel, was the pool side (very relaxing with a great bar!) and the Laddu Restaurant. Breakfast was served each day (3 courses) with a wide variety of set menus from contingental to traditional Indonesian for 150K IDR each - great value for money! Each evening there were multi-course themed dinners - we loved the BBQ night and the Balinese Dancing night. There’s also a great spa - we enjoyed our two hour treatment with the flower petal bath! Only 15 minutes from Ubud Centre, it’s a perfect location. You can get a grab for 50k IDR, or use the free hotel shuttle at various points in the day. We love Sankara and will be sure to return! The perfect stay for the first week of our Bali Honeymoon.

It's a great resort with even better staff. The biggest value of this resort is its stuff. Every employee is motivated to help and assist you. Everybody was very professional, kind, helpful and friendly. The location is very convenient because the resort is located only 10min away from the center. Still, it is also located close to the jungles, so you get those jungle vibes while being very close to the city. The hotel also offers free shuttles to the center and back several times per day.

The property is located a short distance away from the bustle of central Ubud. It isn’t a huge hotel but there is lots of lush greenery so really has that jungle feeling without being in the middle of nowhere. The thing that stands out the most about this property is the staff, they are so friendly and attentive. We were on our honeymoon so we’re lucky enough to receive an upgrade to our room which made our trip extra special. The hotel runs a free shuttle into Ubud town centre which on a good run takes 15 minutes, on a bad run can take up to an hour.

Some of the areas needed a bit of TLC.

The room and facility was absolutely beautiful. The staff was exceptional as well and so helpful. Food at the restaurant was additionally exquisite! Here for our Honeymoon and they really had gone above and beyond to make sure our trip was exceptional!

There was one day we had an issue with a late shuttle coming to pick us up from Ubud Center, however this being said traffic there can be quite unpredictable, therefore this is very understandable. The staff was overly apologetic regarding the matter and it never happened again. Also the shuttles are easily identifiable, with the name of the hotel on the side. The staff was very prompt with whatsapp messages in regards to grabbing the shuttle from Ubud Center.

EVERYTHING!!! This place is magical. HIGHLY recommend it to all. The staff were so friendly and helpful, informing us of all the place has to offer and events happening each day. The food was delicious too- especially the breakfasts! There is a FREE shuttle into town which was so handy. We got a free photo shoot with 1 free photo too, there was live entertainment, great cocktails...the list goes on! The Spa was an amazing experience too- we took the honeymoon package & enjoyed a relaxing massage, foot & body scrub following by a romantic flower bath with wine. Absolute heaven :) Couldn't have asked for a better start to our honeymoon. Will absolutely stay here again!

All amazing but only one thing- the towels could have been better, but didn't dampen our experience whatsoever :)

Massages at the hotel's spa were great. Staff in all departments were very nice, good service and very attentive. Rooms were promptly cleaned each day. Pool was clean but could do with a few extra sunbeds. Not enough for all the guests. Breakfast was great, plenty to choose from.

The hotel itself is a bit out of the main town and with the traffic being very hectic at all hours it takes a while to get there, 10 - 15 mins in car. The beds were not the most comfortable but still ok. The towels definitely could do with being replaced.
