Very nice place. The people are lovely, I would definitely go back just for the ladies that work there. Nice pool, rooms are very clean. Situated in a nice area not far from the central, but far enough that it's busy.

It's not necessarily something I didn't like, but I think it's important to note. This place is situated within a village, and they have their own taxi services that operate there, so when you arrive, just keep in mind that using those taxis instead of grab is highly recommended as they give back to the community. They will always assist you with getting transfers if you aren't comfortable.

This hotel is a true gem. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home—it felt more like staying with friends than at a hotel. The area is peaceful and uncrowded, with hidden spots where you can truly connect with nature and slow down. One of the highlights of our stay was meeting Gus, who generously shared insights about the local culture and their beautiful way of seeing life. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a quiet escape just outside the city, with easy access when needed. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already planning our return.

Amazing in every aspect. The staff was amazing and the rooms were the cleanest we have encountered in Bali. There is daily room cleaning, free water, a ketel, ... The hotels restaurant serves a wide range of breakfast options, but you can also some here for other meals. We really connected with the staff and even extended our stay for a day. Note that the accommodation also offers free shuttle service to center of Ubud or you can also rent a scooter at the property.

The staff were wonderful and the pools were great . Our rooms were lovely and it was great value for what we paid.

The taxi drivers harassed the driver we hired. I totally understand why the village wants us to use local taxis but they charge nearly 4x more than a hired driver so as a tourist it does not make economic sense

Sri and Gus were amazing. They couldn't have been more helpful and more friendly and they clearly care for the hotel and their customers. It's the details, such as learning the guests names, that make them outstanding hosts The lay-out of the resort is incredible, with its two pools and garden. It genuinely feels like a retreat, especially when you stay at the back of the resort. The food is of good quality The hotel provides a shuttleservice to and from Ubud, which works really well and is very convenient

The twin room is located at the front of the resort, by a busy road. So if you book the twin room, make sure to bring earplugs. The bathroom in the twin room also doesn't have a door, so make sure you're very comfortable hearing each other in the bathroom Socks came back from the laundry with patches that were melted from the heat of the washing machine

Our stay has been a delight! The whole Retreat is beautiful. The lobby looks really homey and the rooms are private and all have wonderful views in the big garden and the pools! There even is a Yoga Hut in the middle of the garden. There is a whole range of different breakfasts you can choose from and every single one is delicious! But the best part is the family running this whole business. Really sweet, kind and friendly people you can always go to if you need anything. They gave us a shuttle to town every single day and recommended some things you can do around town or have lunch at. We left a part of our hearts at Ubad Retreat and felt like home there. We would definitely come back!

Very welcoming owner and staff. The room was very nice with a lovely bathroom (including bath) and very comfortable bed. Our room was cleaned everyday which we were very impressed with. We also asked if they had a laundry service, which we needed for the same day as we were leaving for our next location, the laundry was cleaned and returned to us on the same day as they assured us.

It was slightly outside of the town, which we didn’t realise when we booked. We did walk into the centre once, we were put off from walking it again due to very protective dogs guarding their houses left free to roam the streets close by to the property which was somewhat intimidating.

The staff are lovely, so inviting, and extremely helpful; They treated us like family, and arranged for us to have a motorbike during our stay. There were 2 large relatively clean swimming pools, the rooms were well supplied with a fridge and well functioning AC, hot shower and comfortable bed and pillows (yay!), they supply water daily, and there is a restaurant on site open all day. They also provide an extremely generous and delicious continental breakfast with many options and fruit with each one! There are also some really cute social cats and a dog (who keeps to himself) on property! :)

The only downside I would mention is that the location is a bit far from main streets, and no online apps are permitted in this area, so you have to rent a motorbike/ pay higher Taxi fees/ walk 30 mins to other western restaurants. This being said we loved the peacefulness of this property!! ❤️

We stayed in Ubad Retreat, Ubud (2 rooms) for 7 nights and we couldn't be happier with that decision. Its a nice cozy family run place that treats you like family during the stay. The rooms are really nice with comfortable beds and amenities. The bathroom is quite large with showers and bathtubs. The internet provided is really fast and we never had any issues with it. The resort is filled with a lot of trees and plants that give it a nice calm feel. The free breakfast included in the price was pretty decent and we had 5 choices everyday to choose from. We tried almost everything on the breakfast menu during our stay and I can vouch that its pretty good. The restaurant also serves coffee, lunch and dinner and the food is very tasty. If you are looking for a nice relaxed, no frills place then Ubad retreat is the place to come. The resort is run by Gus and his family. Gus was really helpful in planning a sight seeing itinerary for me and helped with taxis as well. The driver (Dewa) who took us around was a very kind and polite man helping us at all places. Seri who takes care of the restaurant and kitchen also treated us like family and developed a special bond with my mom. When one day, we went on a rather packed day trip to Nusa Penida, my mom decided to stay back in the resort. Gus and Seri learned about that and took care of her by delivering lunch to the room. We were really delighted by that gesture and experience. You dont get that in a name brand 5 star hotel.

Nothing at all...everything was great
