This resort was tucked away in the jungle quite some distance from civilisation- exactly what we wanted. Tunak is a new resort which has been open for about a year. There is clearly some heavy investment from the hotel vehicles to the fabulous villas. Some areas of the resort are still being built such as the gym and veranda bar. The views from the resort are outstanding and can be enjoyed from the villas or the main restaurant. The food was excellent and varied. We enjoyed every single meal! Staff were warm and friendly and couldn’t do enough for you! The nearest beach is a short drive away and it is completely isolated. You can also walk /run there or borrow a hotel ATV to drive yourself there. We enjoyed releasing baby turtles here. This place is special.

There is some construction still going on (this didn’t spoil the tranquility or anything) and some parts are a bit unsightly. Some specials in the restaurant would be a nice additional option. A small shop for snacks would be a good idea as there are no shops anywhere near.

Tunak resort was full of nice surprises and we fell in love with the hotel staff big time! Our first Villa #2 was huge with a large private pool and ocean views. We cheekily recommended they trim one bush to increase the infinity. Hopefully the next guests will benefit 😜. Aircon in the bedroom worked great and the ceiling fan was a bonus. Bathroom + bathtub is luxurious with ocean views and open showers for two. Smoking outside was permitted and an ashtray provided. We never missed the lack of TV as the resort has plenty of fun things to do like the harnessed swing over the cliff, atvs, baby turtles release, sunrise and bird watching, deers, peacocks, the impossibly beautiful & rare blue viper, butterflies and restaurant + bar. We had a cool party supported with well made Lombok LIITs by the gang of what we now call our friends. Our second villa #4 had a shared true infinity pool with WOW views, V-shaped hills gap going down to the ocean, BIG waves and a sunset. Just one of a kind and unforgettable. Must mention the tasty and perfectly crafted menu, so bravo to the chef (hope the management never let them go). If swinging, eating & drinking wasn’t enough we indulged in 90min in-Villa massages while their spa is a work in progress - OMG sooooo good. Thank you AYU and SANTI with piano fingers. A must have! We immediately booked another couples massage but were told that one of the girls had a scheduled day off so imagine our surprise the next morning when both Ayu & Santi marched in carrying the heavy foldout beds and baskets full of oil - oh yeah 👍🏼 . This resort is amazing now but will be even more amazing when they finish building another 20 villas along this pristine cliff coast-line with killer views. When it was time to leave, all our new friends including the GM gathered around and I received a souvenir TUNAK handbag & hugs from each staff member. As the transfer car was pulling away I had quite a few tears in my eyes 👀

Nothing. Everything was perfect!

The staff at Tunak are incredible. They are friendly, accommodating, and kind. We felt like family from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The kitchen staff were attentive and even made us some delicious local sea snails and fresh-caught Mahi Mahi at a beach BBQ. The views were incredible and the location is private and peaceful. They are building the resort alongside the wildlife and incorporating nature into the experience. There are deer, horses, peacocks on the property and of course lots of birds! It's a really special place with really special staff. It's close to Kuta (about 30-40 minutes) which has a great main street of active and quality restaurants and bars. We had such a relaxing and rejuvenating stay here. If you're in Lombok and want an elevated resort experience, this is definitely the place. Stay at Tunak, you will not regret it.

It's hard to find anything not to like about Tunak. We knew it was a newly opened resort when we booked, but we didn't realize it was still under development. The sounds of construction nearby were a little distracting from the peace and quiet of the beautiful place at times. However, very soon this work will be complete, and it will wonderful to hear the sounds of nature around you.

The view! It was magical, over looking the ocean. My pool looked over the ocean and it was incredible especially sunrise and sunset. The villa I stayed was tastefully decorated and massive. The comfy big bed, view of the sea from the bed, bathroom was incredible. Every angle you looked was the sea 💙 The staff were so so friendly, I had great conversations with everyone, everyday. Such a warm and friendly team. Thank you for making me feel so welcome and very much at home! I loved meeting you all and having great chats with you. I went to visit the local school that the hotel has funded. It was such a special morning. I also got to spend time with a group of children at the resort. They were so kind and provided a delicious lunch for the children and staff. It was wonderful!

I would have liked more local desserts on the menu. The food could be a little warmer on arrival to the table.

The ocean view rooms were to die for. Amazing views and as advertised. Staff could not do any more to make one feel so welcome and relaxed. Compliments to management and staff in demonstrating excellent service to gusts. Beds and rooms size...amazing! The turtle release experience was wonderful. The giant swing over the cliff tops also excellent. Both free for guests.

Not so much that we didn't like it and couldn't cope but for awareness..... 1. Resort sits reasonable isolated. 40min from airport and 35min from Kuta where an abundance of restaurant options exist. 2. Only one restaurant on the resort. Decent feed and options. 3. The last 15min to the resort is along a dirt road. 4. So real surf spots nearby. Ekas is 1hr. Dondon and Kuta etc around 30min. 5. Some ocean views share pool with another room/guest. If you want peace and tranquility and amazing views, get the sea view rooms.

Remote beautiful location, the view was breath taking, the privacy was perfect for our honeymoon stay. The staff are also so friendly and helpful. Overall an amazing experience. We will be back!

The menu options at the restaurant could be expanded, as we tried the majority of it by the end of our 4 night stay. The food and breakfast were delicious, however more options would make it unbeatable!

This was the most beautiful resort I’ve ever stayed at! The room, pool and view were all exceptional. The little touches were amazing and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Cannot rave about this place enough!

Just a bit far from the action, my partner and I surf we were out quite a lot and it was a decent drive from things.

The place is one of the best I’ve ever been in my life. The view is stunning, the food is incredibly delicious (standing ovation for the chef and the team). The staff is fantastic and very helpful. The place offers a whole new experience of relaxation and privacy. The yoga teacher is amazing. The rooms and the view are breathtaking. I will come back without a doubt. I TOTALLY recommend it.

the view is unreal. amazing service from each and EVERY staff. the room, bed and pillow are all so comfy i dont want to leave the bed (who would want to with that view). we love the private sunrise hike with our guide. keep up the good work!
