Great central location, good buffet breakfast, staff were very good and helpful

The room was hot all the time. We couldn't lower the temperature. We stayed for four nights and we turned the aircon off on the first day, as did 2 other couples we were travelling with. We were able to open the window a small amount which gave some relief during the day but at night time we closed the window and just slept with a sheet on

Location is excellent

There was some kind of bad smell at the 16th Floor , could be from drainage system THE TIMING GIVEN FOR CHECK OUT IS VERY EARLY @11:00 HRS MOST HOTELS ARE 12:00 HRS CHECK OUT

I love this hotel. The location is the most perfect! You can not find a better location. It's smack in the middle of the street market. The breakfast buffet is my favorite, the views from the breakfast room are stunning. They start at 7:00 a.m. which is fantastic for jet laggers. The rooms are great for the size, comfort, and amenities. The staff is always so happy to help, accommodating and sweet. This is my second time staying, two years apart. I would never stay anywhere else.

You can't control your own room temperature. Which I did not like. One guest had called the front desk and said they were too cold; so the hotel turned up the heat for the entire hotel. We were literally sweating but they wouldn't turn the temp back down. That's the one negative thing. If each room could have their own control for their comfort that would be great.

On the map, Myeongdong seems so far, but in reality all the hotels near the Myeongdong night market is very very close. Royal Hotel is at the end of the night market Street. But in the way that is perfect because it’s accessible to other areas of the city via subway and car taxi access. The staff was phenomenal! We love how everyone was very helpful, even though we were not always able to speak Korean they were able to still accommodate us, particularly with such things as luggage and appropriate transportation for our group. We had a great day and would definitely come back to this hotel when in Seoul. by the way, forgot to mention that water pressure was spectacular! That itself is a huge place for me, especially after a long day of walking

Royal Hotel's location is definitely one of its key draw points. The rooms are always clean, well-appointed and comfortable. It isn't our first stay at Royal Hotel and definitely won't be our last!

The staff at the lobby lounge cafe were rather dismissive, rude and curt. The level of service definitely did not meet up to the level of service extended by every other member of staff that we had the pleasure of coming into contact with.

The location of the property couldn’t be beaten. Prime location in Myeongdong with countless restaurants and shopping directly outside the hotel. Perfect for first time tourists and if you want to soak up the chaotic fun of staying in Myeongdong and enjoy the crowds and buzzing atmosphere. Good location to be based as all the main tourist locations were a short cab ride away in various different directions. Coin laundry available which was really handy for longer stays like ours. For such a central location and good facilities, I would say this hotel is good value for money. Similar hotels in the same area were double the cost.

Didn’t really have any complaints. Lifts were quite busy in the mornings so a bit of a longer wait but other than that nothing we didn’t like. We were a bit worried from other older reviews about the temperature of the rooms but it was absolutely perfect for us and no issues whatsoever. We had a few warmer days and a few cooler days during our stay but the temperature of the room was always perfect.

The beds not comfortable , the breakfast i think it was almost seafood , the arabic people dont eat that on the morning , so i hope they add more food the arab people like eat it , thanks

The location was exceptional. Easy access to all the key attractions. The hotel was very comfortable, the rooms were slightly small but clean, comfortable and quiet. We had two rooms, on the 12th floor. One double and one triple. The triple with 2 singles and a double was spacious. The other room was very small but our stay was comfortable.

While the staff at check-in were good and courteous, some of the other staff members during our stay were not great. There was one member of staff (an older member) whilst helpful was abrupt and not friendly, in fact was rude.

I had a wonderful stay at the premier twin room for the first 3 nights. Everything was perfect. I stayed the next 3 nights at a standard deluxe twin room with same room size and while the room is just as comfortable, there are fewer electrical sockets and the only electrical socket hidden in the hole of the desk top is not convenient and too narrow for plugging in phone charger.

We stayed in a premium triple room with Club Lounge access. Only used the lounge once during our 4 night stay. The light bites for happy hour on the 21st floor were goodl. Our room was meant for 3 people (our friend cancelled last minute) so of course it was spacious for 2 people. I asked for a high level, quiet room and they really delivered! We faced the back/side of the hotel facing away from the street so we did not hear any of the noise coming from the center of Myeongdong. Amazing! There was a sofa and table where we ate our food and watched TV from. The bathroom was extremely clean. When our toilet clogged due to our error (they do not flush their toilet paper and prefer you to use the bidet!), they fixed it right away. Beds were firm and so comfortable to sleep in! Walk downstairs and you are immediately where the food stalls and shopping are so very convenient. The hotel is closer to bus stops than it is the subway but it is not a far walk to either. We were able to use their coin washer/dryer for our laundry (they sell detergent and dryer sheets in the vending machine right next to the washer/dryer) and had no trouble with damp clothes not drying fully.

We were able to locate where the morning tea was even though front desk staff told us it was right across the check in desk - we went on 2 separate mornings and it was empty so we felt we did not get what we paid for.
