The hotel has a very comfortable room. We really liked the view from the balcony at the top of the hotel. The service was great and they answered all our questions about getting around, the best places to eat, tourist attractions, etc. I recommend it and would definitely go back.

the stairs are really long and can be challenging for someone with limited mobility.

CasaMao is a beautiful place. It's close to the centre of Amalfi. There are a few steps to climb, but the view from the terrace is worth it. The room is spacous and clean. Our host, Mr. GianFranco is very kind and helpful.

Lots of stairs, but worth… brilliant view from balcony. Iralian hospitality was excellent everywhere, and Gianfranco was even better… small videos, maps, program recommendations etc instantly sent electronically. Very careful, great host and the house is great, too. Amalfi is a charming place;))

The host is very kind and with a sense of detail. Gianfranco wrote to us in our language before arriving, which made us feel his hospitality even before you see his special place. The house is remarkable, artistic and at the same time modern. Full of art and history. And proud to know that in this house lived a famous sculpture artist with nickname Mao /Gianfranco's grandfather/. And you can see Mao masterpieces all over the house and in Amalfi and Atrani as well. And for sure go up to the tarrace by night to feel nature's power as the mountain rocks are so close to you. Go in the morning as well to welcome the sun, enjoy the sea view and hear the church bells for a great beginning of an unforgettable Amalfiana stay. The room was much better than expected. Highly recommend Casa Mao atmosphere.

Wow, just wow airbnb! Gianfranco was an excellent host! He was so helpful with everything - recommendation best way to arrive to Amalfi, restaurants, places to visit in the area, how to get bus tickets, how to transfer to Capri, Naples. He even called our Airbnb in Naples and translated information to help plan our next destination. LOVED the airbnb - we stayed in the unit with 2 balconies. We ended our day with sunset views from one of our decks from our room. He met us at the town base on our first day and even carried our suitcases up the steps to the airbnb. Such a nice person, hope to meet again Gianfranco!

Gianfranco was an amazing host who went above and beyond to make the stay go well. Rooms clean and nicely decorated and the location excellent.

Gianfranco met us at the ferry terminal upon arrival and the communication prior to arrival ensured everything was super smooth. Whilst escorting us to the hotel he told us the history of the property and his grandfather and it was amazing to hear and see. Upon arriving at the hotel, the views and surrounding area were stunning and took our breath away. After entering Casa Mao we were shown our room and the rooftop and again, everything was exceptionally clean and modern. Our room was spacious, very comfortable and modern. It had everything we could need and Gianfranco could not have done enough for us. The hotel itself was amazing and it is only made better by Gianfranco. I have genuinely never had the pleasure of meeting such a kind and amazing host. Thanks to him and his wonderful service, the picturesque setting of the hotel and the facilities itself, I will only use Casa Mao when visiting Amalfi.

The accommodation was lovely, definitely worth the climb up. The apartment is exceptionally clean, spacious and always stocked with toiletries towels etc. Has gorgeous sea and mountain views. Gianfranco and family were so kind. He helped us in every way possible from suggesting places and things to visit, to providing contact details for help with our luggage and transport to the airport. Highly recommend!!

Let me tell you this - Casa Mao is not just a place to sleep, It's an experience. I misunderstood where is the meeting point and Gianfranco (owner) came running back to the apartment to do the check-in, he was helpful all the time while staying there, reachable by phone and genuinely a really nice guy. This place is incredible, our room was perfectly clean and had a window above the bed - so before sleep we could watch the stars passing by. Bare in mind you need to climb around 150 steps to the apartment, but most of the accomodations in Amalfi are in the hills and only reachable by foot via multiple steps.. BUT take those steps as stairway to heaven!

Exceptional hospitality. Our host made us feel really special as we celebrated our anniversary. He helped us with planning, understanding the logistics of local transportation, making sure we had umbrellas for the rain... really everything. We could not be more appreciative. The location was a just a short walk away from all the highlights of Amalfi.
