Beautiful old building containing the dining area, bar and reception, wonderful pool area and very professional and helpful staff who tend to all your needs. The room was lovely with a modern bathroom and a beautiful balcony overlooking some orchards. The breakfast buffet is amazing and they also serve dinner on request with a set menu with local wines available.

It can be quite loud from the balcony as there are cow bells and roads close by, but if you close the doors they block out all the sound so sleeping is not an issue.

Breakfast was very rich; the cappuccino was quite good. There were several fruit juices, bread, and both sweet and savory choices of food. The room was very spatious and very clean and provided with everything you would need for a great holiday. There's a fridge with cold drinks inside (quite handy). The location is simply stunning: the Valley of the Alcantara river. The agriturismo is a very well renovated farmhouse with a pool and a restaurant (quite handy if you don't know where to go for dinner). The dishes in the restaurant were delicious and based upon Sicilian cuisine!

The pillows were quite thin, so we had a hard time sleeping. Being a Sicilian myself, and so expecting very high "cuisine" standards, the pastries and cakes at the breakfast could have been more fresh than they actually were. At the restaurant, the food was absolutely great but, for some reason, it tasted a little too saulty.

I really enjoyed our two nights in Il Borgo. The room was really big and comfortable. After a couple of days in Palermo, I enjoyed the peace and fresh air. The pool is a good size, and the chairs next to it are quite comfortable. Breakfast was great, with a wide variety of options.

I didn't realise we are staying in a building next to the main building you can see in the picture. It didn't matter too much to me as our room was very comfortable and quiet.

The breakfast, food, staff

Unfortunately the rooms aren’t that silent. If you want to have a rest in the afternoon forget it. You can hear everything that goes out of your room in the main corridor, staff cleaning, staff going in and out of the store room, other clients coming in or out of their room chatting, cleaning trolleys, luggages. Even at night unless everyone is settled in his/her room it’s like you’re in the same room together. That is the only drawback of our stay

Lovely property which great use emerged in the countryside. Although an old difficult building, the property has been converted to very modern standards just making it super comfortable to spend a couple of nights in. The place also includes a decently sized pool and the lovely restaurants with option of dining alfresco. The restaurant only offers food at dinner time, including a selection of typical dishes are cooked to perfection. Prices are not cheap but reasonable. The rooms are quite large and cleaned every day, including change of showers. The Internet connection is relatively good for Sicily standards and rooms are all equipped with cable tv and mini fridge and ac.

Very nice located on the countryside. Our two rooms were nice and big - although after changing one room, because the first one had a very bad smell.

We booked as group 2 rooms. One room was very nice, the other one was quite small and had a very bad smell (the staff changed after asking the room so the new room had a balcony and was really nice, but it seemed that they know the problem with the smell in the room in the first place).

The warm welcoming from the cheerful and smiling Sarah, who also served us in the same spirit during our two days, made our stay just perfect. Even the waiter Gabriella, who served us our dinners in perfect manner and did her best to meet our wishes should have a gold star. She succeeded in making us an Irish coffee, even though she never heard about it! Thank you for making our stay so pleasant. We can warmly recommend this place!

As a family of 3 it was practical to stay in the suite with the living room, as the sofa turned into a single bed. We had a little balcony with a view of the nearby hills and could see sunrise. It was clean and spacious. The pool area was peaceful and attractive. There was a lovely choice of sweet and savoury at the buffet breakfast and dinner was good too with a daily change of menu. In fact we ate there on 3 evenings. The location of the hotel was perfect, being 4mins drive away from the Gole di Alcantara, 40mins away from Taormina and 55mins away from the north entrance of Etna. The staff also deserve a mention as they were so helpful and cheerful.

Il Borgo has a lovely location perched on a wooded hillside above the Alcantara river valley, which can be enjoyed with a drink beside the swimming pool. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed seeing what local produce was going to appear each morning for breakfast, and the restuarant compared very favourably with others. We would like to compliment the wonderful staff as all were willing to help with any problems we or others had. Notably Sarah had a busy time overseeing breakfast in the morning but was only too pleased to help with more coffee or advice. This was epitomised by one of the cleaning ladies who came running after our car just as we were leaving on our last day with a hair clip that had been left in the room.

The Wifi didn't extend well into room fourteen, although fine for our neighbours. Something to look at.

The breakfast was really good, but there's nothing warm (just FYI). The location was great for us, but it's off the beaten path so be prepared activities and food-wise.

The dinner was not worth it, pretty expensive for what it was...
