We loved the rustic charm to Leone Blu from the moment we opened the large entrance doors , typical of Catania with a real 'wow factor' as if we were about to enter Aladdin's cave :) simple beautiful. Most grateful to our journey in Sicily starting in Catania... Manuela our host, was just superb . Nothing was too difficult for her regardless of my countless whatsapp messages. She always replied promptly . Rosaria was also great company during our breakfast. We would return in a heart beat ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you Minna Kingra xxx

Excellent location in the centre. Wonderful hostess who was very, very helpful and a fountain of useful information. Amazing room which was huge and beautifully furnished, with a balcony and had a lovely decorated ceiling. Comfortable big double bed with great choice of pillows. Very good continental breakfast provided. Many restaurants close by. Main sights and also shops within easy walking distance. Bus station ( bus D to the beaches) within a few minutes walk.

The only slight downside was the absence of an elevator. However the staff assist with carrying luggage up the 38 steps. If one has no big heavy suitcase, its really not a problem.

This B&B was a fantastic value and located close to alot of the main streets, restaurants and shopping in Sicilia. The fish market and Via Etna were within a few minutes walking distance. Our room was spacious and had a nice bathroom. It was clean and quiet with great sunlight. We enjoyed people watching from our balcony in the morning and evening. Manuela gave us many helpful tips on navigating the city and excursions. She was a great resource and was available via WhatsApp whenever we needed to contact her.

The breakfast could have provided more of a variety of options as it was the same thing everyday. More protein would have made it better. Nothing against I'll Leone Blu but the city is filled with trash and graffiti which was a real disappointment. We visited other cities in Sicilia and this was not the case. This was our first visit to Sicilia and it was sad to see Catania in this condition.

Manuela is so friendly and kind, she really made our stay wonderful. We left our luggage twice and went for a walk before check in and after check out. She made reservations for us in restaurants and gave recommendations. Everything went OK and all our questions were answered immediately. The apartment was also big and clean, near to the city center, and in a calm area. We had a small problem with the slow water drainage in the sink and cold water, but everything was resolved as soon as possible.

Breakfast only consists of sweet croissants/pies and one cheese, one prosciutto and some white bread.

Amazingly situated close to the main part of Catania but also minutes away from fun restaurants and bars around the castle (somehow also very quiet at night). Check in was really helpful and Manuela gave us lots of recommendations and information about the city. In easy reach of the beach by bus and walkable to all historic sites. The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was perfect. There was cold water in the fridge available and we really appreciated the access to a kettle and instant coffee machine too.

Would be great to have a safe in the room but the property felt very secure and safe anyway.

Fantastic location. The room was stunning - it was like a suite with an entrance area, huge bedroom with a beautiful, original, decorated ceiling and three balconies. Tastefully and beautifully decorated. Very spacious. Comfortable and large bed.Excellent quality cotton bedding. Lovely, tasteful decor. Gorgeous bathroom products. Very clean. In the centre but quiet. Lovely breakfast area with delicious breakfast with Sicilian pastries as well as fruit, cheese and salami. Manuela was extremely helpful and helped organise taxis, restaurant bookings and local trips. She responded immediately to any query. Rosanna provided the magnificent breakfast and looked after the rooms on a daily basis and was very friendly and helpful in every way.

Nothing.

Our host was in contact with us before we arrived, ensuring we knew how to find our accommodation. She greeted us warmly upon arrival and explained all about the property, facilities and the area around. The room was beautiful and well appointed, the bed was very comfortable. I really liked the availability of chilled soft drinks, or hot drinks for guest to enjoy at any time. Our host was not around when we departed but messaged us to wish us well. All in all a wonderful welcoming place to stay, worth every penny. Would go there again if we returned to Sicily

There was very little to dislike at Il Leone Bleu, the marble stairs at the end of a long day are all that I can think to mention! But this is a traditional and very old building so a lift would be incongruous.

I just rate 10 because I want to support Manuela. Still it didn’t meet my expectation especially we paid quit a lot for our standard from Japan. Maybe things are so much cheaper in Japan. The photos of the facilities are a bit misleading. That is why it didn’t meet my expectation. But I have to stress that Manuela is very attentive and well communicative. Overall, I recommend this place, but you cannot expect facilities like beautiful 4 star hotel, which was in my mind before the arrival and according to the photos

Il Leone Blu is beautiful, clean, quiet, and located very close to the historic center. We found free street parking right behind the building. The decorated ceiling is stunning. The TV has access to Netflix and other channels. Breakfast was very good. There were two comfortable upholstered chairs and two desks. What a lovely place! We were able to check in early and received accurate, helpful information about how to get into the room.

No elevator

We were looking for somewhere with a Sicilian feel but with all the modern comforts and that’s exactly what we got. Apartment 1 was bright, spotlessly clean and very spacious. The location was perfect and everything was within walking distance. The communication with the host was impeccable and she was able to recommend local restaurants and bars which were great. Thank you!

Breakfast was fine but some fruit would be nice.
