Our stay was amazing! Angelo was so nice, helpful and kind, and the room was really perfect. Super clean and spacious, and really nice quiet location but in the middle of everything. We in fact actually liked it so much, that we spontaneously extended our stay for another two nights. Organizing that with Angelo was super uncomplicated and he gave us a very good deal :) We will most definitely come back, Catania is such a cool and underrated city, so many young people and cool spots!

the only tiny possible point of critique is maybe that the bathroom was a bit cold, we were there in february, but that was totally fine and not a problem at all!

The place is right in the heart of the city but yet in the quiet street. It’s in a very close proximity to all main attractions and just minutes by foot to many restaurants and bars. The place has tons of character. It’s located in the historical building but the rooms are fully renovated. Our room looked exactly like in the photos of the listing. It was spacious and sparkling clean, had AC and very comfortable double bed. There is also a shared modern kitchen to use. Angelo is a fantastic host who was always there to help us. We can’t recommend this place enough!

An amazing place soaked in history. Well decorated with some lovely period pieces, charming courtyard, vaulted entrance with a staircase, giving a glimpse of Catania's past. The guest rooms are on the first floor of an old palazzo being brought back to life The room was comfortable with modern room facilities and a kitchen area, and above all, super attentive host, Angelo, who was present at our arrival, very accommodating with our arrival time and helpful in pointing out transport and sights.

Very clean. Minutes walk to the city centre. Extremely comfortable bed. We had a very long trip getting to Catania due to missing connections and flight issues. Had drama with the rental car company and the booking but the one issue we didn’t have was with the amazing host at the accommodation. He was supportive and so friendly. The room itself was quiet, the street didn’t get busy at night. It felt like a safe area. I couldn’t recommend enough. Lovely stay.

The location was not in the best part of town, but only a short walk from the centre of Catania with lots of bars, restaurants and sites to visit. Catania in my view is a very safe town so it is not a problem to walk around and explore. The room was big with a very good en-suite shower room and toilet, a balcony and very good lights. Angelo was a perfect host with lots of information on things to do. He was always on the other end of the phone and helping out with any questions you may have. He provided a very nice breakfast everyday. The other good thing is that the rooms are only on the first floor, there is a lift, so easy to get bags to and from the room.

As in all the hotels I stayed in in Sicily the pillows were quite hard and this may just be a personal preference, but I would have liked softer pillows.

Its a small b&b consisting of two rooms with private bathrooms and a shared kitchen. Very family like atmosphere. Beautiful interior of the old building, comfortable beds and despite some noice from the street (room facing the street) we managed to have a good nights sleep. Angelo gave us great information about where to eat in Catania which made our experience valuable and if traveling with a car there is a good possibility to leave the car parked safely in the private garage of the house. The location is absolutely great just a couple of minutes on foot from the center. We recommend cordially.

Some minor stuff like the broken shower head, the bulb in the bathroom or the weird constellation of the water-flow that is either too cold or too hot but nothing that can not be fixed and definitely didn’t bother us too much.

Angelo greeted us with a smile, took time to explain and was attentive to our needs. We would warmly recommend Palazzo Speciale to anyone coming to Catania. The location is very close to everything interesting in town, good restaurants too.

Angelo is the perfect host! Always helpful, and makes a great breakfast too! Thsi B&B is located only two minutes from Catania's famous fish market, yet our (very spacious) room was very quiet.

The facilities and the host were superb, no issues at all. The location was great in terms of proximity to the city centre.

This is hardly anything that the host can influence, but the streets around the accommodation were incredibly dirty. The path from the centre to the accommodation is lined with old rubbish that has an incredibly awful smell. You could literally see heaps of trash (not in bins) from the window.

Room was large and comfortable. Bed mattress very good. The host Angelo was very helpful in providing information on local transport etc. The kitchen was useful for snacks or making a cup of tea.

The drain in the bathroom shower was badly blocked up, this definitely needs fixing please! The door to the entrance to the B & B is very loud on closure.
