This hotel is in a beautiful location with amazing views. We took children aged 8 and 4 and had no problem travelling back and forwards into Garda itself due to the free shuttle provided by the hotel. The pool is huge and there is plenty of space for everyone. It was the same depth across the whole pool so children who are unable to swim will definitely need swimming aids. There were various activities around the pool area every day so if you don't want to be disturbed too much by the music etc, maybe choose the sun beds which are set back on higher levels away from the pool. Sunbeds themselves were easy enough to find at any time of the day as long as you're not too picky about where they are. There was no rush for sun beds when the pool opened at 9am, which is quite rare! All of the staff were extremely helpful and we found Fabio to be absolutely amazing, going above and beyond in everything he did for us. Our room was set back a bit and was a bit of a walk from the Hotel Reception and the pool, but Fabio was always on hand to take us to our room or back from it in his golf buggy. When we told him that we were considering visiting a nearby waterpark he told us everything we needed to know, getting us a bus timetable and checking himself with reception staff that he was giving us the correct information so that we could navigate public transport easily to get there and back. This was our second visit to the hotel as we visited 9 years ago before having children and after now having visited with children, I would recommend the hotel to anyone. Whether you are travelling as a couple or with children, Poiano caters for everyone brilliantly.

The small children's pool was always very cold so we stuck to the main pool.

The hotel is so much more beautiful in person than these images show. The staff were so attentive the second we arrive, the daughter of the founder/owner showed us the site as our room wasn't available and talked us through how the site has developed over the years. The pool is beautiful, and there was not a day that we didn't all get a bed together as a family of 4. Activities for the children were plentiful, and we are sorry that there was so many we didn't have time to do in out 4 day stay. Breakfast was perfect. The hotel is beautifully presented, as is the restaurant. We stayed in a junior suite, and it was very spacious and airy. The aircon was very effective, and the view was beautiful. There is a trek up the hill, but after all the ice cream, pizza and pasta, we had no excuses! Maid service every day. Fresh towels and clean bedding - the whole hotel is immaculate. Lastly, the shuttle bus, which, after reading reviews, we had concerns about but wish I had not worried. MAURICIO is an absolute legend and ensures everyone gets to garda town as quickly as possible. He is so happy all day (despite his very long shift). We never had any problems getting on the shuttle, and their system is very effective. Some people are not accustomed to queueing like us English do, but that is more an individual issue and not a reflection of the hotel. You will get this experience all over for trains, buses and ferries.

Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds. With lots of sporting activities available. Staff were really attentive and made sure we had a good stay. Lovely breakfast and traditional Italian evening meal. A half hour walk from Garda. We hired a car to see the local area. Pool had only just opened and was unheated so a bit chilly but we are used to this so we did enjoy some lovely swimming. Pool was 50m which was great for training.

The Shuttle bus does not run throughout the day, its stops running at 1.15pm in the afternoon and restarts late afternoon and then stops running again in the evening at 20.15pm for the night which is far to early and it’s a long walk from town so definitely not ideal.

Variation in breakfast and overall quality was bland , I play tennis and was looking forward to that being part of the holiday but wanted lesson or game and know coach ? As 4 courts are available I never saw anyone playing?

The property was in a beautiful location with amazing views. The hotel was very clean and had a large pool. The terrace area was lovely. The staff were helpful and very friendly. The shuttle bus service enabled easy access to the town although the last bus coming back could have been a little later.

The only thing I would fault about this property was the breakfast slots. They were every hour rather then half hour. The 9.30 slot felt very rushed and the staff were more concerned about getting the tables ready for lunch then the guests having a relaxing breakfast. IParts of the restaurant were not accessible as the tables were being prepared for lunch.

The view from the resort over Lake Garda is fantastic. We watched the sunset one night from the spa & our room also was up the hill and had a fantastic view of the lake. The spa was also great quality for such a low cost.

The property decor is a little dated however this did not affect our enjoyment of the property.

The only area for improvement is the wonderful swimming pool that was in bad conditions, the floor was not repaired, and the water was full of small pieces of floor

Limited breakfast Rude staff - made to feel you were not welcome in reception and dining room Too many rules!! It’s Rules rules rules ! You can’t do this - put this here - don’t go there etc but they don’t tell you then tell you off afterwards in a rude manner It’s like a holiday camp. They need to relax a little and smile more

Lovely Resort with lovely big pool. Large suite big enough for 4 people Good breakfast and good pool snack bar

30 to 40 minute walk to Garda town. Good shuttle bus but it's a little small if there are a lot of people waiting. ( Queuing etiquette among guests not very good) No cushions on pool loungers so they are quite uncomfortable
