This property is absolutely gorgeous. I’ll admit the town isn’t much to talk about, so it was really nice to have a beautiful place to stay and come back to. The buffet breakfast was great. The room was spacious and clean, and they did a great job of mixing modern amenities with timeless classics. For example, the AC, the shower. The beds were comfy too. We went up to the pool and had drinks made my the guy at the bar named Tommy. He crafted his own cocktail menu and was really helpful and patient in helping us find the best drinks for our mood. We didn’t have much interaction with the rest of the staff as we were only there for 1 night, but the check in / check out was quick and smooth. Also free on site parking which was great.

The gym was a bit outdated. For the price of the hotel I think they could have invested a bit more in the equipment. However, most hotels I’ve stayed at don’t even have a fitness center so it was nice to have something ! Also, the pool area is pretty busy and even as a hotel guest you need to pay for a chair which seems a little unusual. They do have one only for hotel guests but it’s an indoor pool and you have to wear a shower cap. The one at the top of the hill is open to the public too.

Breakfast, friendly staff, outdoor pool and sunbeds/parasols, historic hotel building and artefacts, hotel location, quiet relaxed ambience, peaceful garden, comfortable large double bed, invigorating and powerful shower in ensuite that stayed at a constant temperature!

Dinner menu - not enough variety, especially the dessert menu, and was same throughout holiday, which got a wee bit boring when you're staying 9 nights on half board basis. Hairdryer in bathroom wasn't great - hadn't brought my own, so spent whole holiday with hair looking a bit of a mess. Would have liked some tea/coffee making facilities in room but that's the British for you!

the hotel has many positive sides. The surroundings are beautiful, the food is excellent, the staff is kind and helpful and the overall vibe is great. Despite the minor issues, it’s a lovely place to stay with a lot of potential. 100% will be back! This review balances the critique with the positive aspects, giving constructive feedback in a respectful tone.

First, I was disappointed to find that water in the minibar was priced at €3 per bottle. For a hotel of this standard and price, I believe water should be included, especially considering it’s a basic necessity. Additionally, the body lotion provided contained a lot of chemicals, which isn’t ideal for those who are conscious about what they put on their skin. Another downside was the cold temperature in the bathroom, and unfortunately, the towel heater was not working, so the towels did not dry. The showerhead also needs replacing as it barely allowed water to flow, making it difficult to enjoy a proper shower.

This place is a paradise on earth! I’ve been traveling alone with my three kids and a dog and we were blessed to stay in the family room, with the garden, which was so beautiful and authentic , right opposite from the spa area. Hotel is a small castle, beautiful and calm. Perfect to recharge your mind and soul! I can’t wait to go back there asap !

I didn’t like that we had to pay for the spa towels. It’s only 5€ per towel but still, I disagree with any additional cost. If you go to the outside pool, the charge for the sun bed is 7€ each. Also , not a critic but rather suggestion: in the rooms with the kitchen, there should be some cleaning equipment for the dishes. We were gladly using the kitchen but didn’t have any way to wash them after use.

The age of the property made every day an enjoyable exploration. Perfectly maintained and beautiful. Al fresco dining, delicious food, breakfast buffet was opulent. Pool was lovely and poolside view is stunning.

Our only difficulty was the trip from the train station to the property. Rest room at train station and at bar next to train station were both non functional. We had no cell service to call a taxi. Thus, the walk with luggage was unpleasant. Pre-arrange transportation with the property if traveling by train. They are wonderful and accommodating.

The rooms can use some soundproofing. We had very loud neighbours having conversations at 4 am and intimacy during the day and it was as if the walls were like a piece of paper so loud. Staff was verz professional about it and asked them to keep it down, but our sleep was already screwed up.

The staff were exceptional and friendly. They made sure that our experience was as close to perfect as possible. We went on Easter weekend and the entire city was very busy with locals and tourists. The staff helped us get into various wineries for wine tastings, including their own, even though they were fully booked. The room was comfortable, warm, and clean. The spa was relaxing and we felt so calm and peaceful for hours afterward. Lastly, the restaurant was delicious and affordable. Everything about this place exceeded our expectations.

Beautiful property with outstanding architecture. Pools good - although why they charge for a sun bed or cap is beyond me. Restaurant excellent and the rooms and staff outstanding. Took train to Florence to the heart of the city in 35 mins on fast train. Lovely little town with great market but not a tourist spot itself.

Charging extra for pool stuff (including pool towels).

Unfortunately, the Spa was not open due to renovations. I did see inside the spa and look forward to having the opportunity to come another time. It looks beautiful. The wine tour was very interesting, and it gave an impressive history of the Villa Residence portion that is not open unless you are on the tour. It had museum worthy art and furnishings and historical significance for that area. The restaurant was fantastic in both atmosphere and food offerings. I would definitely stay there again and will refer it to everyone!

The Spa was not reopened as estimated. The weather in December does not allow for use of the outdoor pool but that is understandable.

Tranquility of the surroundings, comfortable and beautiful rooms, good location and decent breakfast. Small group spa sessions were an absolute bliss. Location is good near the town and train station going to Florence

I loved everything, especially for the price we paid. Would be good to have tea/coffee in the rooms though which is the only criticism. They were still available but outside at the reception
