This place is absolutely dreamy. It was our first time in Tuscany, and we did travel around a bit, for example we went to see San Gimignano. However, in the end, no place we saw was better than Panzano in Chianti, and the views from the back of the Pensione were the best of what we had anywhere. The Pensione is part of the Vignamaggio estate, but is location-wise completely separate - it's located in the center of Panzano. Other parts of the estate, such as La Fattoria, are a short drive down the hill. Located in an old building, there are certainly some quirks, such as a lot of up and down stairs to get anywhere within the hotel. Breakfast is served differently than I've seen anywhere else - they bring out an individual tray to each person, but besides asking you how you want your eggs, you can't really customize it (though for younger kids they do customize). It was a mix of sweet and savory items. If you come here, make sure to visit La Fattoria for lunch or drinks, and maybe for one of the arts classes (or wine tastings) that they offer. We did a cyanotype printing class which was so much fun!

The one thing that we didn't like about the hotel was that the beds were pretty hard. I've seen some other reviews with people complaining about the pool being a walk - it's down the hill a bit, but no more than a minute or two from the hotel. The upside is that the pool feels secluded. It - like everything else at this hotel - has amazing views of the surrounding country side.

This is a gem and a half of a hotel, so much so we didn't really leave it for 3 days! The staff were all friendly and helpful. Great touch of having an honesty bar and wine machine! The decor is just the right side of contemporary to fit in with the surroundings. And the views are like oil paintings! There are a wide variety of restaurants just outside, recommend to book though, or within walking distance. The beds were comfortable and room regularly cleaned. Breakfast was just right, served on individual trays outside and very lovely staff. The pool is perfect! Right amount of sunbeds and seating and the right temperature and perfect size. Views are to die for!

Our room could've done with a bit more natural light but for the little time we were in there it was fine. Could do with a few more pillows in the rooms but you can ask for these.

The staff, the pool were amazing and the room was clean. We felt really relaxed after staying for 2 nights here and it's definitely a great place to stay if you're Chianti. The free parking is a plus. Also they gave us complementary water and a bottle of wine made in-house.

I won't give it a 9 because of these 2 things but please consider 1. Adding some vegetables to the breakfast, a bit more bread and maybe a 2 egg omelette instead of just 1 egg 2. Give 2 extra pillows to every room, my fiancé and I are used to sleeping with extra pillows as it helps us fall asleep better. The bed was also a bit uncomfortable because it was made out of two mattresses.

They had everything you basically are looking for. Rooms are big enough. Breakfast was really good and they made additions to what you personally like. Location was right in the center of Pandazo and had a parking very close by. They had a great swimming pool with great views. I swam in the middle October and it was considerably cold. Still enjoyed it.

La Pensione was an amazing property. The staff were incredible and prepared the most delicious continental breakfast boxes each morning on the terrace that overlooked the rolling hills of Tuscany. The pool was beautiful and relaxing. They gave you a pool towel in addition to your hotel room towels which was nice. The room was spacious and had a nice sized bathroom which was nice as well. The little town of Panzano was super cute and quaint as well had some really nice restaurants nearby.

Amazing hotel. The photos just don’t do it justice. Great breakfast, good rooms and a nice pool. Located right in the middle of the town, on the main market square.

Nothing. Best to ask for a ground floor room if you have heavy luggage.

The staff were fantastic and very helpful. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and heritage but with all the modern touches. The location is amazing right off the main square of Panzano with a bar across the street that plays music filling the square with a fantastic atmosphere. The pool, rooms and terrace have stunning outlooks across the valley.

The breakfast was so nice! it had everything at the right portion, so Italian! thank you so much! the girls that served the breakfast were so polite! the coffee so tasty and the view amazing! everything so clean!

We loved everything, there is no single complaint. This is one of the best hotel we have stayed. Once again thank you so much!

Lovely hotel with a beautiful view and pool. Staff were lovely, and room came with a complimentary wine and included breakfast. Walking distance to Casaloste winery and across the street from Chechini and other great restaurants. On the weekend there were markets right outside the hotel too. Hope we can visit this region and stay here again soon.
