An exquisite 400 year old mansion in a quiet residential neighborhood, with a gorgeous private, shaded garden with hammocks, great cocktails, and an excellent breakfast. Very tastefully and artistically decorated- has an old Havana vibe. Rooms are spacious and very clean, private bathrooms and AC. Fabio, the owner, is exceptionally kind, funny and so helpful. He made a terrific restaurant recommendation, a three minute walk from the B&B: 30 Denari. Bonus: A cafe one block away open all-day coffee, drinks and bites to eat, with friendly staff, if you need something to hold you over until the trattorias open at 7. You won't want to leave!

The location is nice, seems family managed.. they have private parking which is very useful. They are located under 5 min away from a bus stop from where you can easily get to the train station, port or city center. They have a very nice garden where you can eat, read or relax. The location looks like a cozy traditional Italian home. It is very nice.

The internet didn't work properly, but this seems a general problem in Italy. The property is located around 2.5 km from the city center so if you decide to stay late in the city you will have to walk (the last bus is around 20.45). The area seemed pretty safe.

Locanda dal Moccia is a very pretty property with a lovely breakfast space. The room and bathroom were very clean. The staff was wonderful and the free breakfast was delicious. The on-site free parking was a huge plus, as long as you have a little car and are a good driver!

The distance to the train station (1.5 km or 1 mile) would not be bad if it were not for the summer heat. It would be nice to be closer to the town and port, but that's probably why the price was so reasonable. The bed was reasonably comfortable but the pillows were hard as bricks. I think they should invest in softer pillows.

Staying at this hostel felt like being in a charming, rustic village home in Italy, with its antique hotel ambiance and beautiful garden reminiscent of a cozy countryside residence. The hotel owner was hospitable and served his guests a distinctive Italian breakfast, making you feel like you were in an Italian countryside home.

I didn't like the room we stayed in at this hostel because the ceiling was slanted and there was only a small window, making it unsuitable for spending long periods of time. Thank God that we stayed in that room for only one night.😅

Not far from central station (less than 2 km), convenient for those who would like to take the train to Cinque Terre like us, free parking, with garden, clean, breakfast included, accommodating host (flexible to let us check in earlier than the normal check in time), responsive host.

Wifi not very well (we can only have access to the internet with 1 phone from our room), rooms are not sound proof (you can easily hear the water running in the bathroom, if someone pull the chair upstairs and people talking in the corridor, maybe because it’s

This is a magical place. The house itself is a fairytale, the old with the new combined in a perfect balance, preserving its spirit and authenticity. We headed to La Spezia in order to visit Cinque Terre, but besides the trip itself, we received this wonderful bonus, having the chance to spend a couple of days at Locanda dal Moccia which was an experience by itself. A great experience really, because we fell in love with the place. This is the magic of traveling, discovering places like this! Also, last, but definitely not least, Fabio, the host, is the most sweet and kind and helpful person, a perfect match for the place, they coexist and complete each other perfectly. Ps. Also, loved the garden. The only regret that we have is that we were here in february and I imagine that the garden must be at its best in april or may when all the plants are lush. Nevertheless, we did see some lemon trees in the garden that were so loaded with lemons that from some distance they looked painted!

Not the case, we absolutelly loved everything.

The breakfast was extremely delicious, the rooms were comfortable and we had the option to park for free on the property which was really helpful and made us feel more calm. The property is a 20 minute walk from the centre in a pretty calm area. We would like to thank the staff for being extremely attentive and kind.

Position of building. The age of building was fascinating as was the furniture all looked they had been there forever. Breakfast was good. Garden lovely to relax in of an evening. Staff friendly and willing to listen to limited Italian! Gave information regarding buses etc.

A few more hangers in the wardrobe would have been useful.

The Locanda dal Moccia is a down-to-earth, honest and decent proposition for a brief stay in La Spezia. Its greatest advantage is of course the parking. The rooms were perfectly clean and breakfast was simple but in adequate quantities. WiFi and airconditioning were fine as well.

It is a pity that even in the summer the beautiful garden is not used. Also the 400-year old building could have been an expensive boutique hotel if everything was not maintained at the simplest possible level, nearly spartan (for example our room did not even have a fridge).

The owner stayed up to greet us and helped with parking, beautiful, traditional house and garden. Room was airy and good size, extra blankets and pillows available if required, housekeeping daily. Breakfast was lovely quality and flavoursome.

Unfortunately we had some questions about the local area but nobody to ask who was English speaking on both mornings of our stay.
