Fabulously located just across the road from the lake. Casa della Capra describes itself as a restaurant with rooms which is probably true though it does have a comfortable small lounge. The rooms are beautifully appointed and very comfortable. There is a hot tub on the shared balcony which we used when it was too wet to go in the lake. We enjoyed using the paddle boards and rented bikes for half a day. Breakfast was sublime and dinner was really excellent too.

Nothing really, though service at dinner was significantly more attentive on our second night than the first when we got a bit bored waiting to be asked if we wanted pudding but that was down to the serving staff.

The staff was realy friendly, our hotel room was also very nice for the dogs with airconditioning❤️ the food was also realy good😋 I would like to come back another time for a longer time

The only thing that was missing in my oppinion where trash bags, there where trash cans but no bags in it, I think it would be easier with bags in it.

Good location, opposite the lake. Excellent welcome on arrival. Rooms were clean and modern, loved the shower! Guests should definitely try the restaurant, the food was first class.

Parking was a problem during restaurant opening hours. It would be great to have reserved parking for hotel guests, or if that’s not feasible, maybe mention parking isn’t guaranteed. We returned from an evening out and it was impossible to drive into the property due to the volume of parked cars. (We’d actually passed on other hotels due to lack of parking facilities.)

My partner and I loved everything. The staff were wonderful, super kind, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. The restaurant and food are fantastic. The view is heavenly. It's a very peaceful space. Fast wifi. You can hire equipment (bikes, SUP, etc.) for activities.

Awesome choice for cyclists and foodies alike. Amazingly friendly staff, delicious food, great beds… and all of this at the shore of a clear blue lake. If you’re cycling in this area it’s the best place to stay. Highly recommended 💪

Really nicely located, well maintained property. Rooms are spacious, views are amazing, just outside the town of Mergozzo but close enough (10 min walk). Super friendly staff, nothing to dislike!

Absolutely adorable, cosy, stylish, comfortable place, surrounded by fantastic nature views. Friendly welcoming hosts and all the staff. Tasty breakfast and splendid restaurant to have a dinner. Great location to create unforgettable memories.

We loved our stay here. The location of this delightful restaurant with rooms is wonderful, overlooking the small but perfectly formed Lago di Mergozzo with a chestnut forest-clad mountain backdrop - especially beautiful in the still of a spring morning with a slight mist rising off the mirror-like lake (we also spent three nights on Lago di Maggiore but frankly I thought Mergozzo was prettier). Without exception the owners and all the staff are very friendly, always helpful, considerate, and thoughtful. They're lovely people individually but also work really well as a team. The cooking in the restaurant is often outstandingly good, inventive but not showy and with great respect for the quality of ingredients. Mergozzo itself is a pretty, historically interesting, and perfectly maintained lake-side village with some good restaurants. There are good walks in the mountains and above the lake opposite the hotel. In better weather than we had (in the first week of May) sitting in the hotel gardens and eating on the terrace would be lovely.

We'd originally booked the 1st floor room with its own terrace but relocated to a 2nd floor room because we were a bit worried about the potential for restaurant noise to travel via the atrium in the lounge next door - a problem which will shortly be eliminated via the installation of sound-deadening glass between the two floors.
