Pros: - very glam - amazing building and beautiful decor, feels like a palace - lovely terrace for sitting outside on a nice day with a drink - super comfortable bed and large rooms - the restaurant food was as good as fine dining gets - staff were lovely, both at restaurant and reception - the head waiter at the restaurant was very attentive and professional Cons: - no direct lake access from grounds - 20minute walk up/down hill, from main piazza in the town, difficult to get home at night after dinner unless you have a car or are okay with walking back all that way in the dark - the town streets are extremely narrow and minimal parking, so would require a confident driver to navigate this situation even with a car - limited room service options/times for “lazy” meal if can’t be bothered walking into town - restaurant closed on Mon/tues - no pool for those wanting to relax by the lake - shower was on the smaller side and low pressure and sometimes had only warm water - room temperature was set by the building so unable to regulate this if too warm/cold. I was warm so would open the large windows to let the room cool down during the day.

Beautiful villa with stunning decoration , great location, lovely team at reception, complimentary car, luxury bedlinens and towels.

Music a little too loud at breakfast starting at 08.00 hours and unfortunately most servants in restaurant didn’t speak English , which led to misunderstandings, confusion and long waiting times even for a cup of coffee.

The outside design and garden are unique and beautiful. The inside design is old fashioned (it is supposed to be in old Arabic style), although comfortable. Breakfast is excellent with many kinds of cheese and home made cakes. The staff members are very polite and friendly. Free Parking.

A lot of uncomfortable stairs everywhere, without a banister, making it very difficult to manage in the hotel for someone with any mobility issues.

This hotel is breathtakingly beautiful! Feels like you're staying in your very own private castle. Stunning architecture, lavish rooms, a relaxing atmosphere, superb views of Lake Orta, convenient but secluded location, a world-class restaurant, delicious breakfast and faultless service from the staff!

A proper shower in the room (the bath was beautiful but a stand-up shower) would have made it perfect.

The property is amazing, a piece of art. I have book a room on this property only because of this Villa and i had not search anything about the area around, But this was another surprise. We visited with our two dogs and our dogs was totally welcomed as well.

1. Price not value for money 2. the Michelin restaurant is over rated. Its fine but not spectaculare - 1 dish (frog legs) we send back 3. nice garden - but no pool, even not a "dip in" 4. propterty is NOT on the lake, no acceee to the lake 5. trees have to be cut down - tiny view only to the lake

Fantastic dinner. Fantastic staff. A special call out Matteo who helped in everyway imaginable and to Sarah. Betty in the restaurant made our dining experience a memorable one.

The breakfast experience! This was the most disappointing part as we were told we could only eat breakfast in our room or in the bar. There was no logic or adequate explanation as to why we could not sit in the dining room given that area was being used to serve lunch and dinner.

Rooms were comfortable and the staff were all very lovely.

Service standard and elegance were perfection. Every effort has been made to provide a beautiful historic building with modern conveniences. The town of Orta San Giulio is magical.

No pool or gym.
