Il galleone is excellent. Great location. Well presented. Quiet. Great snack options in the kitchen. I was so impressed with what I had to choose from. Thank you. From the initial booking until the morning of check out I was so pleased with the level of contact that I had from the hosts at Il galleone. It made the experience even better that I could have expected. I would definitely stay again when visiting Messina.

My only minor comment is that the bed was far too soft for me. That’s just a personal preference and I know that you can’t please everyone when it comes to mattresses.

My one regret is that we only had one night in this lovely B&B. Our family began our trip along the northern coast of Sicily in Messina, staying at Il Galleone for one night. Antonella and her staff were very welcoming and accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed, including great dinner recommendations. We had two rooms, both beautifully decorated and appointed. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen area had everything we needed for a quick morning tea and espresso. If you are looking for a place with warmth and charm, Il Galleone will not disappoint.

Location is fantastic. People are very nice. A few stairs but not many. not really a first floor. Very clean. Arranged taxi very well for our departure.

We had to call when we arrived to get instructions for the lock box. It took about 5 minutes to get through. We would have preferred to have a text with the lockbox instructions but they seem to have had problems with people not knowing how to work those in the past. Perhaps could ask the guest, ahead of time, if they would be happy with the lock box instructions in a text message rather calling. We are kind of used to using lock boxes!

A great little place, just up the road from the Duomo, and a shortish walk from the train station. Handily located for buses and amenities. Nice to have a kitchen supplied with various breakfast items and coffee to help yourself to. Nice clean room. Antonella, our hostess, was friendly and super helpful. And Messina is a great stopover - the museum is well worth a visit (with 2 Caravaggios among other things) and the beach at Torre Faro is one of Italy's best. Don't just change trains here!

Very convenient for town centre,bus and train station, but in a quiet area of the town. Plenty of restaurants, take outs and ice cream parlours, small supermarket 5minute walk. Accommodation was very clean, contact via phone or what's app and daily visit if needed.

You could hear other guests in the other rooms,but there are only 4 rooms, I think and it was never noisy. For the money, it was very good value.

A quite small but lovely room in a B&B apartment with more guests. It has a bathroom with a great rain shower, a small fridge and in fact everything needed for two days. To get in, the host advised us by phone and gave the code t oget hte keys. The rest followed smoothly. Antonella was very friendly and helped with booking taxis and gave advise about restaurants and bars. The area is perfect, close to the cathedral square, a pedestrian area full of restaurants and bars, and the taxi stand nearby.

Really high-quality accommodation! The host provided good instructions on how to find a place to stay. It was easy to find the place and we could easily park the car in front of the house. The room was really clean, big and beautiful. The shower had good water, the bathroom was clean and the bed was very good. The room had air conditioning and we slept very well. Breakfast was served in the shared kitchen. Breakfast included croissants, coffee and juice. The host couple was really helpful. The location is great, right next to the Duomo and restaurants almost next to the corner. You can get everywhere by foot. The Duomo is incredibly beautiful and comes alive every hour! You have to go to see that! Messina was really beautiful, I will come again!

Absolutely beautiful, immaculate property with all the furnishings throughout sympathetic to the architecture. In addition, the owner Antonella has thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible ie. a small refrigerator in the room containing water, a safe, a map of the city, umbrellas etc - she also sent details of sightseeing and restaurant recommendations and we took her advice on three - all were excellent. The location of the B&B also couldn't be better, literally two minutes walk to the Piazza del Duomo.

Really centrally located and easy to find. Our host Antonella made sure checkin went smoothly and explained some of the sights to see and where to eat in Messina. Breakfast was really well done with plenty of choices. If anything stood out the shower was amazing, great pressure and well regulated. Room was very clean and well appointed and bed very comfortable. Would stay again if we ever return to Messina.

Stayed for three nights in mid-September. Four rooms available. Location on quiet street, near Duomo and many dining options. Clean, comfortable accommodations, all the facilities work. Comfortable bed, and A/C worked fine. Remote check-in with instructions on checking in from ‘What’s App’. Quick response from proprietor. Basic breakfast: cereal, croissants, coffee and juice.
