Antica Locanda Leonardo came highly recommended by Rick Steves’ Italy guidebooks; and it did not disappoint. Located on Corso Magenta, this family-run hotel is steps away from Leonardo Da Vinci’s Last Supper, 7 min walk to Cadorna train/metro stations, and easily connected to Duomo by the tram #16, that stops across the road. Easy walking distance to monastery of St. Ambroggio; Church of St. Maurizio with breathtaking frescos by Luini, often called “ Sistine Chapel of Milan”, and La Scala/ Duomo. Hotel occupies part of a beautiful 19th-century building, surrounding the quiet courtyard; locked gate keep the noise of the city away. Air con, elevator, beautiful antique furniture, comfy beds, tea/coffee maker in the room. Delicious breakfast could be enjoyed in the delightful common areas inside or in the garden. Hotel staff recommended us superb place for dinner, filled with locals to bursting and run by another family. We felt so lucky to get in there.

2 nights were not enough

The location of the hotel was surprisingly fabulous for walking the vibrant city of Milan. Everything you might want to visit is walkable and if you don’t want to walk there are Metro stations and trams within 5 minutes walk. The beds were super comfy, the staff helpful, in particular Carole gave us great local knowledge and helped us plan our days, including restaurant recommendations which were just brilliant. Breakfast, while tight for space at busy times, was an excellent spread with a huge variety on offer.

The room/bathroom was well appointed but neat and it felt like a lot of money per night, however, the location was so good it was worth it.

The location is great, the area around the hotel is beautiful and close to the tram and the metro station. The premises of the hotel are very nice. It has a nice yard where if the weather allows, one can have breakfast or a drink. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. I didn't like the fact that the breakfast for our room was extra even though for another room it was included. So we had to pay an extra 15 euros per person for breakfast, even for kids. Also, the rooms were very small, but convenient, cozy, and clean with a nice view, especially the ones over the back yard.

Everything, and I don't say this often! This place is truly a hidden gem right in the heart of Milan. If you see it available, Book it Now! - The location is literally the building next to the church where the Last supper is. Very cozy place, super quiet and yet walkable to everything. - The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I was in touch with them both through messages and emails, and they gave is detailed instructions regarding parking, driving directions from airport, how to avoid ZTL areas and times. - We arrived super early in the morning. We were hoping to just drop the luggage and go explore, but they luckily had a room just open up and they were kind to let us check in as early as 930am. This was we could relax a bit after a long flight and go explore. - Staff gave amazing recommendations for places to eat, and where NOT to eat to avoid tourist traps. - The Breakfast. You should probably stay here just for the amazing breakfast in the morning. That's all I will say about it.

Really nothing. We just stayed for a night. I guess it is a very popular property, and so we could not find it during our return to Milan. We had to stay at another place which just did not compare to this.

We had a lovely large bedroom off a courtyard which had vintage vibes in terms of décor. The bathroom was quite spacious. Breakfast was fine with plenty of cereals, fruits and breads as well as eggs, bacon and sausages. The coffee was great. The hotel staff are all very helpful. The hotel is located in a business district but next door to an excellent restaurant and only a few minutes walking distance to the refectory of the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie. This is where The Last Supper, a mural painting by the artist Leonardo da Vinci, dated to c. 1495–1498 is located. The Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci is also a short walk away. There were lots of other churches to explore on foot. A Tram stop is well located near the hotel entrance.

A minor issue was that it was not easy to find the hotel as the entrance is via a large bolted door on the street, with a bell to ring to gain access to the hotel. The taxi had to double park so as to allow us to unload our luggage. The hotel reception was a little difficult to locate as it was off a quaint inner courtyard. The bathroom could do with some updating.

Beautiful Boutique Milanese Hotel I booked Antica Locanda Leonardo for three nights as a surprise for my girlfriend. Not knowing anything about Milan I chose this hotel as it looked clean and had a generally good central location. We were absolutely blown away by this little gem of a hotel. The hotel is situated a stones throw from Leonardo Da Vinci’s Last Supper and nearby Santa Maria delle Grazie. It is one of UNESCO's World Heritage sites. The hotel is situated in a picturesque courtyard with a rear garden and outdoor seating patio. The reception is lovely and intimate with a beautifully decorated lobby and lounge area (where breakfast is served also, there is also a small bar area). The decor was very aesthetically pleasing and felt very much like a contemporary rustic boutique hotel. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and in particular a lovely male concierge member gave us a lunch recommendation of a nearby pizza restaurant which was 10/10. The room was ready early which was a great surprise after having traveled early in the morning. The room was spacious and clean and decorated very nicely. In particular, the bathrooms were very nice and modern with very good powerful showers. We found the hotel to be always cozy also. We had turn down service each day. We were also allowed to leave out luggage in reception following check out as we had a late evening flight on our last day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would 100% recommend it.

Hotel is located next door of Last supper painting church. Very quiet garden and you will not hear a sound. 25min from Milan Doumo. Great location.

Breakfast - it was ment to be until 10:30am and we arrived at 10:05am waiters ignored us. Luckily we grabbed quick plate of some leftover eggs and last pancake. Pick up on croissant and straight at 10:10am all foods was removed and first cakes and croissants, not even asking if we want anything. Then they kept doors open to cold countyard moving in and out. We left 10:23am because was so cold. Reception personnel is very polite and super nice. We supposed to have double bed and we had two singles - no problem.

The location is great, very close to Santa Maria delle Grazie. The hotel is like an apartment building, it was nice to have a set of keys to enter the building, it felt like I was a local resident. The room was clean, there was a power outlet right next to the bed. The room was equipped with a TV and a kettle. The staff was very nice.

My room was on the ground floor, it was a weird L shaped room with one window, so there was no natural light. I didn't mind it since I was only using the room for sleeping but I think it's worth mentioning.

Great location within walking distance to the metro, train station, and tram stops. 200 meters away from the Santa Maria delle Grazie monastery. The hotel is very clean, and my room was spotless. The staff is very kind and helpful. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Milan, but next time, I’ll probably choose a bigger room.

The single room too small -even for one person. Despite being slim, I felt that the bed was also quite small. Additionally, the room was quite dark due to the very small window.

This is a gorgeous, boutique hotel which offers a real Italian City-Villa style of stay. We loved our spacious triple room, its warm and modern decor and the lovely courtyard. Our room was quiet, well-equipped and had comfortable beds. The excellent location is an easy 20 minute walk from the Duomo and the city-centre sights and a 5 minute walk from the Santa Maria delle Grazie - the Church with The Last Supper. Hotel staff were professional, polite and attentive. We only stayed one night due to our itinerary, but would've loved a longer stay at this very comfortable and affordable property. Will definitely stay here again if we have another opportunity to visit Milan.

Nothing, it was all great.
