This is not a typical review, this is a story. A Sicilian story that started the moment I saw a Booking ad with a picture of Torre don Virigilio. That moment in November 2022 I said to myself I have to see where this place is, if there's any chance I will visit it someday. And there I was, with no summer vacation plans for 2023, instantly researching and tailoring a Sicilian tour (island that I had no intention to visit in the near future otherwise) just to reach this destination. Nine months later, when we stepped into the castel's garden, it felt like everything is possible. Needless to say it exceeded my expectations, from the type of room we received, to the fine dining we experienced in such a lovely and unforgetable scenery.

Very pleased with our 9-night stay here, very good price/quality. Staff were very friendly and accommodating to help with any request. Breakfast was varied and good , the on-the-spot made coffees were very helpful to start the day. The room with 2 bedrooms upstairs was large enough, the daily make up of the room was much appreciated. The location of the hotel is somewhat remote - a rental car is a must - but provides for a good basecamp to visit surrounding towns of Ragusa, Modica, Noto, and coastal towns/beaches. The option to have dinner (on reservation) is a welcome possibility which can ease things.

only suggestion to equip the in-room-kitchen a bit better, eg with a microwave, some cooking utensils, etc

We found Torre Don Virgilio to be an exceptional place to stay in the beautiful countryside outside of Modica. The buildings in this historic establishment are charming and beautifully restored. We loved the wonderful and peaceful atmosphere created by the gardens, olive trees, and potted plants. The only sounds we heard were birds singing! The pool area is lovely, and we enjoyed relaxing there. The staff were friendly, kind and helpful. We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant, and the breakfast was fantastic - so many great choices to choose from. We hope that one day we are able to return to this amazing property!

Everything was wonderful!

Torre Don Virgilio was such a great find. It’s tucked away in a quiet, natural setting—really peaceful and perfect if you’re looking to unwind. The place was spotless, and everything felt really well taken care of. The food at the restaurant was excellent—we enjoyed every meal. The staff were super friendly and always ready to help with anything we needed. Our kids had an amazing time too, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I’d recommend for a chill and comfortable stay, especially for families.

Wow where to start. For our honeymoon we choose this fabulous hotel. Believe me if you are mesmerized by the pictures on Booking the live situation is even more stunning. We will have to start with the staff. Big thank you to all of you guys! The personal attention and the service level is something that made our vacation. Everybody Housekeeping, Restaurant, Reception you name it, it is just like you are visiting your own Italian family. So special we will never forget this for the rest of our lives. After they heard it was our honeymoon upon arriving they put a lovely bottle of Prosecco with 2 glasses in our lovely room. Then the hotel/resort itself. Stunning, peaceful, quiet, beautiful, authentic, luxury we can go on and on and on. Enough towns and cities to explore within an hours drive from the county club. Believe us enough to explore and try. If you don't feel like driving you can have a fabulous meal at the restaurant of the country club. Believe us fantastic food and even the locals from the nearby villages think the same. There is enough traffic from "outside". Last but not least the breakfast. This is unbelievable. Freshly baked cakes (yep multiple), big selection of savory Italian specialties and of course proper Italian coffee. What a fantastic start of the day. If you had the slightest doubt, which is unimaginable to us, book an go. This is simply the place you will have to visit. A must go.

This property is super. We are still enjoying our vacation here. We travel a lot in Sicily and this was by far the best property we have ever stayed at. The place is very well kept. Very clean, super silky, the breakfast is amazing. The owner and his wife are very nice people. We loved everything about this place. The pool is so refreshing. The rooms are nice and clean. Ac is very good. The restaurant is delicious. Good pizza pasta and meat. Their olive oil is really good. (On the house) We will buy a bottle. Perfect stay. We will be back! Thanks to all the staff for your super service.

This property was beautiful, a converted farmhouse with large spacious rooms. The outside area was also lovely, with a delicious restaurant that spilled out onto a great courtyard and intimate garden, beautifully lit up at night.

There wasn’t really anything I didn’t love about the property. The only vaguely negative things were:- the restaurant was very popular, therefore sometimes it was hard to find a parking spot if you go out in the evening. Also, the suite we had was fantastic but for the size of the room, had a very small shower.

The place was like a home, and it was very clean, everybody was so nice and friendly, and whatever you asked for they gave it to you with a smile. It is a place in the country very peaceful and there is so much to see and walk around. The owner was very friendly and tried to help and guide us in every possible way. Will visit again.

The only thing that I expected better was the menu. It was a very good choice of menu and we tried almost all the food, it was all delicious, and well done to the chef! However, I would add a few more things to the menu, especially different types of pasta and burgers. Worth Visiting!

Cleanliness was impeccable, breakfast was a great selection. Pool was lovely, gardens very well maintained. Restaurant was lovely, we ate all three nights and one lunch (due to being a little far out to go to Modica and nothing much local but was lovely food). Staff were friendly and very attentive.

We were given 2 double rooms, however one was absolutely wonderful but the other very different being very small and hot, the air con went up a high stone wall and did not really help with the August heat. Hotel very kindly gave us an extra fan. It wasn’t comfortable to relax after a long day, luckily we were all able to relax in our other room until bed and the rest of the hotel had lovely areas to sit in.

Very charming property, well maintained and was perfect for our needs to relax a bit. Beautiful outdoor area, with beautiful garden and swimming pool. It was great that other guests usually left the hotel during the day and returned in the afternoon, so the pool was mostly empty throughout the day. The breakfast was great, with variety and tasty food. I also noticed that they were kind and generous in preparing the recipes, especially considering our food allergies, details they asked for at check-in, and they took care to put up small signs reminding us that the recipe did not contain cheese or mushrooms. By the way, their olive oil produced there is delicious.

They frequently (two days we were there) offer dinners in the restaurant located in the center of the property, which can be quite noisy with lots of conversations. My room had thick stone walls that kept out some noise and faced the restaurant area. However, the bathroom window overlooked the restaurant area and was only covered by a semi-transparent curtain, which made us a little uncomfortable. Luckily we arrived late both nights so it was ok, but I can imagine it might be a bit annoying if you want to sleep before 11pm when the restaurant closes.
