This is not a typical review, this is a story. A Sicilian story that started the moment I saw a Booking ad with a picture of Torre don Virigilio. That moment in November 2022 I said to myself I have to see where this place is, if there's any chance I will visit it someday. And there I was, with no summer vacation plans for 2023, instantly researching and tailoring a Sicilian tour (island that I had no intention to visit in the near future otherwise) just to reach this destination. Nine months later, when we stepped into the castel's garden, it felt like everything is possible. Needless to say it exceeded my expectations, from the type of room we received, to the fine dining we experienced in such a lovely and unforgetable scenery.

Highly Recommended! We were genuinely impressed by how well-organized and professional the entire hotel team was. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. Our room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and cleaned daily—something you don’t see often nowadays. The lush garden was not only well-maintained but also mosquito-free, which shows the hotel has truly thought through every detail for guest comfort. The on-site restaurant was a real highlight—authentic Italian cuisine with delicious dishes served in a warm and inviting atmosphere. It’s also very family-friendly, making it a great choice if you’re traveling with kids. Despite the restaurant being open until 11 p.m., we never experienced any noise issues. Both hotel and restaurant guests respected each other’s peace and privacy, making our stay all the more enjoyable. We had a fantastic time and will definitely return.

Peaceful and remote location. The hotel was stunning and we had 2 junior suites so we had a lovely outside seating area and sun loungers. The pool was perfect to cool off during the heat of the day and there were always enough sun beds. A car is must staying here as the nearest town is 15 minutes away and the beach is just over 30 minutes. Was my first time driving abroad and the roads were very easy to navigate. The restaurant is extremely popular with the locals so you must book in advance to reserve a table but they do squeeze you in if you decide to dine last minute.

We had a slight ant problem in the kitchen but reception gave us some spray to use which helped. Other than that we had no complaints.

Very pleased with our 9-night stay here, very good price/quality. Staff were very friendly and accommodating to help with any request. Breakfast was varied and good , the on-the-spot made coffees were very helpful to start the day. The room with 2 bedrooms upstairs was large enough, the daily make up of the room was much appreciated. The location of the hotel is somewhat remote - a rental car is a must - but provides for a good basecamp to visit surrounding towns of Ragusa, Modica, Noto, and coastal towns/beaches. The option to have dinner (on reservation) is a welcome possibility which can ease things.

only suggestion to equip the in-room-kitchen a bit better, eg with a microwave, some cooking utensils, etc

This is a beautiful 17th century farmhouse , we arrived late evening the hotel made contact via WhatsApp and offered to stay around to see us to our room at 11pm , which was very kind . We were impressed on arrival what a beautiful place to stay . An Italian family were celebrating in the courtyard and it was a really nice atmosphere. The room was away from the courtyard so was nice and quiet . The pool area is easily accessible with nice comfy sunbeds . This was a great base to visit Noto, Syracuse , Ragusa and Modica . I would definitely recommend a stay here the breakfast was lovely too .

We found Torre Don Virgilio to be an exceptional place to stay in the beautiful countryside outside of Modica. The buildings in this historic establishment are charming and beautifully restored. We loved the wonderful and peaceful atmosphere created by the gardens, olive trees, and potted plants. The only sounds we heard were birds singing! The pool area is lovely, and we enjoyed relaxing there. The staff were friendly, kind and helpful. We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant, and the breakfast was fantastic - so many great choices to choose from. We hope that one day we are able to return to this amazing property!

Everything was wonderful!

Torre Don Virgilio was such a great find. It’s tucked away in a quiet, natural setting—really peaceful and perfect if you’re looking to unwind. The place was spotless, and everything felt really well taken care of. The food at the restaurant was excellent—we enjoyed every meal. The staff were super friendly and always ready to help with anything we needed. Our kids had an amazing time too, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I’d recommend for a chill and comfortable stay, especially for families.

Wow where to start. For our honeymoon we choose this fabulous hotel. Believe me if you are mesmerized by the pictures on Booking the live situation is even more stunning. We will have to start with the staff. Big thank you to all of you guys! The personal attention and the service level is something that made our vacation. Everybody Housekeeping, Restaurant, Reception you name it, it is just like you are visiting your own Italian family. So special we will never forget this for the rest of our lives. After they heard it was our honeymoon upon arriving they put a lovely bottle of Prosecco with 2 glasses in our lovely room. Then the hotel/resort itself. Stunning, peaceful, quiet, beautiful, authentic, luxury we can go on and on and on. Enough towns and cities to explore within an hours drive from the county club. Believe us enough to explore and try. If you don't feel like driving you can have a fabulous meal at the restaurant of the country club. Believe us fantastic food and even the locals from the nearby villages think the same. There is enough traffic from "outside". Last but not least the breakfast. This is unbelievable. Freshly baked cakes (yep multiple), big selection of savory Italian specialties and of course proper Italian coffee. What a fantastic start of the day. If you had the slightest doubt, which is unimaginable to us, book an go. This is simply the place you will have to visit. A must go.

This property is super. We are still enjoying our vacation here. We travel a lot in Sicily and this was by far the best property we have ever stayed at. The place is very well kept. Very clean, super silky, the breakfast is amazing. The owner and his wife are very nice people. We loved everything about this place. The pool is so refreshing. The rooms are nice and clean. Ac is very good. The restaurant is delicious. Good pizza pasta and meat. Their olive oil is really good. (On the house) We will buy a bottle. Perfect stay. We will be back! Thanks to all the staff for your super service.

This property was beautiful, a converted farmhouse with large spacious rooms. The outside area was also lovely, with a delicious restaurant that spilled out onto a great courtyard and intimate garden, beautifully lit up at night.

There wasn’t really anything I didn’t love about the property. The only vaguely negative things were:- the restaurant was very popular, therefore sometimes it was hard to find a parking spot if you go out in the evening. Also, the suite we had was fantastic but for the size of the room, had a very small shower.
