The most important item in away from home lodging is having a comfortable bed, at B & B Alexander, the room with the balcony, the mattresses was either new or recently purchased, it was VERY comfortable, not too firm, not too soft. At many vacation rental places the owner is never around, you get a code to let yourself in and you don't ever see the owner. Alexander is a young man, very kind, this is his business, he is there every morning with at least 1, and usually 2 women who serve breakfast and clean the rooms. We were there 7 nights and Alexander was there every morning right around 7:45am. It seems like he is there through late morning. Breakfast was very nice, fresh ham and cheese and yogurt and various pastries every day. Fresh blood red orange juice and also 2 other juices. There is a small refrigerator in the communal dining room which we used to keep some beverages cold. We were easily able to walk to everything except this one big market, that is okay there is another big one that you can walk to. The farthest was walking to the Norman Cathedral, which was just about 1 mile, if I remember right the map said it was a 26 minute walk, but all over Palermo the ground is mostly flat or at most a slight incline as you are literally at sea level so walking without going up step hills and stairs is not tiring. The walk to the luxury street with the designer stores is a 12 minute walk, plenty plenty of restaurants in the nearby area. Our room fronted a very busy street, it seemed like it was a main through street, so lots of cars in 2 or 3 lanes in part. However we were not really bothered at night, the glass door to the balcony is quality and really blocks the traffic noise. We bought a big bottle of beer and drank it on the balcony (Alexander loaned us a bottle opened and we had kept it cold in the refrigerator) around 6pm, yes it was noisy but on the other hand it was interesting watching all the scooters and motorcycles weave in and out of traffic

There is nothing we didn't like. Alexander B & B is a good value AND no bed bugs! Trust me I inspected.

Clean, spacious and modernly furnished room with a modern and large bathroom. In total, the accommodation has about 6-8 rooms. Our room had a window to the courtyard and its own air conditioning. Breakfast was in a room with a nice view of the morning street. Breakfast was sweet pastries, mini pizzas, and the like, coffee, juice. You could park comfortably in the blue zone on the street nearby. It was only 500m, an 8 minute walk to the very edge of the historic core of the city (to Porta Carini with its great daily market).

The mattresses are unnecessarily about 10 cm smaller than the bed frame, but that was a small thing.

Very good location, a lot of local places nearby and reasonably near tourist spots too. Beds were comfortable but on the narrow side (narrower than a regular single bed). Room size was quite big. Breakfast area is a convenient place to hang out (e.g. buying local produce and eating there)

Ventilation in room was bad. Staff could be difficult to contact sometimes.

It was a short 10 minute walk to the opera House square, very comfortable bed and very clean. Breakfast is continental and plenty. The shop across the road on the corner sold bus tickets for the local bus which we used to catch the 102 just down from the Opera square to catch back to the train/bus station. The welcome was friendly and helpful.

If you are a light sleeper it may be a problem as the ambulances use their sirens no matter what time of night but we love being amongst the lively streets.

everything! from the guy at the entrance to Alessandro the host and cleaning lady, they are all very nice! the place is always clean. great breakfast! close to everything! no need of a taxi at all. very secure! i loved that my room had a window so I kept it open!

Excellent , quiet location. The historical centre is within walking distance. The cleanliness of the room is absolutely superb, and the shower is fantastic! The beds are comfortable, and Alexander, the proprietor is extremely kind, helpful and accommodating. Thank you Alexander!

Merely a suggestion regarding breakfast. It included cereal, yoghurt, jam, and a wide variety of sweet pastries. Perhaps an addition of something savoury, like slices of cheese and ham, and less sweet pastries would make the breakfast perfect.

Great location, easy walk to most of the main attractions and dinner locations, AC/wifi worked well

Nothing really, without instructions could go up the wrong staircase

The host is nice and friendly, would like to visit again if I have to opportunity to come back to Palermo.

Maybe the beds could be bigger and better.

Very clean, good bathroom size with towels cleaned every day. Comfortable bed. Great location in the city center. Good italian breakfast with coffee, tea, juices, milk, cereals, pastries, cakes. Good WiFi connection.

Room was a bit noisy as you could hear people in the corridor but it was not a big deal for us. We had a nice stay!

The breakfast is not attractive. Improvements are welcome.

Fresh bread is much better than packed crackers.
