The Khalisah is a remarkable B&B which seeks to integrate a rich history with modern comfort. The fact that anyone dared to restore these ancient buildings and ruins deserves our highest respect. The result is a charming place with courtyards that invite to linger, narrow staircases that remind of Arabic origin (?) and a spacious and very quiet room - in our case - with a super nice and spacious bathroom on two levels. The staff was super nice and also catered for my celiac friend with some gluten-free breads for breakfast.

I've stayed at Khalisah several times and always like to come back. The place is work in progress (in a good way!) and has expanded quite a bit over the past few years (there's now a walled garden and a roof terrace). The rooms vary in size and comfort, from the more spartan to pretty swish - I'm a fan of the big beds and big showers in the more expensive ones. That said, some rooms are on the second and third floors, up steep stairs - so if that's a problem for you, check beforehand! The area may feel a bit dodgy at your first visit, but I've never had any unpleasant experiences and have been happy to come and go at any time of the day or night. It's also a very handy location for exploration, as you can reach pretty much all the sights and a good selection of eating places on foot (some - like Palazzo Abatellis, Palazzo Steri or Palazzo Butera - are literally round the corner), and it is quiet at night. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Very good place to stay with great localization. Staff is really what takes this B&B to the next level. We have a lot of fun memories thanks to visiting this place.

A lot of steep steps to higher floors. For me that was not a problem but if you have any disabilities its good if you consult the staff before booking a room.

Fantastic staff. A comfortable bed and a clean bedroom. Friendly and safe atmosphere. Located in a quiet neighbourhood. As someone who struggles with sleep, I can recommend this hotel; I had a good night here, and it was also quiet at night. I was travelling alone as a woman and arrived late in the evening, when it was dark. The streets outside the hotel were dark, and I felt a bit scared being alone at night. I would recommend trying to time it so that you arrive before it gets dark on your first night. I still highly recommend this hotel and would love to come back, even if the streets are dark.

Excellent communication by the host in advance of our arrival, and valuable transportation tips as we were making our own way by public transport from the airport hire car return station. Breakfast was standard Italian. Very nice coffee. The decoration, individuality, design and layout were exceptionally good.

No lifts so climbing 4 steep and narrow flights with suitcases was a stretch for us and maybe beyond the capability of older guests. No bellboys were available although the quite slight receptionist kindly suggested she would help but it didn’t seem fair to ask her to do so. Next time we’ll know to ask for a ground floor internal courtyard room or maybe first floor room. Alternatively a sturdy bell hop to assist where necessary.

Aurora (and all other staff) was extremely helpful with any query or request. She gave us a great overview of the area and what was worth visiting. The room had a balcony with a small outdoor pool to soak your feet, it was absolutely wonderful to soak our feet in the evenings after long days of walking around the city. It was extremely clean and tidy and we felt very comfortable there. The design was very good with every detail being thought about in detail. The location was excellent for tourism. We were less than 6 minutes from every restaurant we went to in the evenings.

The hotel is very nice and very very clean. The garden was amazing and there is a lot of attention to the details. The two girls at the reception were very nice, they suggested different city attractions and they let us keep the luggages in the hotel after we checked out. We were a bit disappointed by the breakfast, there was nothing typical and it was very poor. Overall a very nice stay.

The location was fantastic. Antonella was extremely helpful. There is an extra courtyard space which is lovely to use.

I booked 2 rooms with the same description and price as was traveling with my sister & her husband. My room was quite different and better set up. My sister had an attic style room & my brother in law kept hitting his head. To be fair each room is very individually styled and I understand that. And we did want rooms near each other. So we just accepted it for what it was. We still had a great time staying there. But the fridge is definitely not cold enough.

The location couldn't have been better - right in the centre of Palermo just a couple of minutes' walk from the main streets, but in a slightly secluded and quieter area. The lady who runs the accommodation (Antonella?) was absolutely fantastic. She helped us so much with parking, and arranged for us to park in the car park right next door. She was incredibly helpful with everything, and took the time to explain how to get to the main sights in Palermo. The room was light, airy and very clean. It had everything we needed and it was comfortable. We didn't have breakfast because we were saving our calories for the amazing street food that Palermo has to offer.

There was nothing that could be improved upon!

This is my absolute favourite place to stay in Palermo: Located in the lively Khalsa is the house very quiet and the rooms so beautiful. You can feel and see the love that the owners have poared into it with a lot of art and cosy places to stay in the court yard, the garden and the terrace. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I will definately com back again. (This was my third stay already).
