The Megna really is a tranquil spot after the noise and pace of Palermo , the gardens and pool were wonderful. It is charming , clean and quiet. Great AC . It seems to be family run. Staff were all lovely. Ten minutes walk to train station, we didn’t hire a car but we managed to travel around easily. 35 minutes to Palermo and about same to Airport - not much in way of pavements but we managed ok 👍 . Plenty of restaurants in Sferracavello to choose from. Lots of seafood . It all felt authentic A couple of mini markets in town and a bakery or two . A bit off the beaten track but we really enjoyed our time there ( 5 nights)

Sun beds could do with cushions to be more comfortable but that is a minor issue

lovely redecorated & modern room and bathroom! we loved having two terraces which caught the sun most of the day and having a fridge in the room was an added bonus. the breakfast was tasty & filling. the grounds really are the stand out - so beautiful, a genuine paradise. the pool is giant and nicely maintained with plenty of loungers to relax on. the view from the pool of the cliffs is special too. we didn’t have a car and found the location ideal - 10 mins walk into the village where there were a decent selection of restaurants and 10 mins walk to the station which got you to Palermo centrale in 25 mins. they’re only every hour but no issue if you plan ahead! we also took a bus from the village to mondello beach with a 10/15 min walk on the other end so it is well situated for those without a car. would definitely recommend!!

bed was very comfortable but mattress rather dipped in the middle

We travel very often, I like atmospheric places, unusual hotels. The villa met our expectations - mainly its garden. I visited the whole place, believe me, it is big and beautiful. It even has a fountain with water lilies.. The room was clean, the mattress was comfortable, the bedding was good but I liked the leaves painted on the wall the most - it was beautiful. The villa is atmospheric, has some good accents and decorations, it is tasteful. We liked relax at the table by the pool, is the impression of a Chinese garden there. In the bay window there is a piano.. Very nice Host and all the Ladies. The pool is wonderful, big and deep. Breakfast was very good, seasoned tomatoes with olive oil, ham, scrambled eggs, nicely prepared fruit, good coffee, and the croissant with pistachio cream was the best in Sicily. Parking and good directions, closed property. We felt safe there. The area by the sea is pleasant, we didn't do much sightseeing there because our destination was the beloved San Vito lo Capo. Fasten the legs of the chair by the dressing table better. The bed had loose legs and was unstable - my husband fixed that.

We enjoyed our stay here very much! The swimming pool and the garden is really nice and perfect during the hot days. I also want to emphasize that the staff was really helpful. The first night I slept on a very hard mattress, we asked if there was any solution and got helped right away. Within an hour the mattress was swapped for a softer one.

This has nothing to do with the accommodation itself, but I wanted to give a heads up about the roads around. The accommodation is an oasis and really nice, but the roads around were not always as comfortable being on foot as there is quite an amount of cars passing, its sometimes narrow and there is not really a footpath.

EVERYTHING! All was wonderful, the place itself was a green oasis in the middle of the older town. We enjoyed it a lot. It can easily be noticed when a place is loved and cared for, this was absolute true about this villa. The host, Gianfranco, was super nice, he sent all the instructions on how to get there, where to eat, explained everything. We had a flight the next day, so he kindly let us stay at the pool after check-out. We regret staying only one night there. Oh, the view on the mountain was amazing!

Our experience in Sferracavallo, particularly our stay in Villa Megna, was nothing short of exceptional. The apartment's location is ideal—peaceful and conveniently situated. It offers both functionality and a captivating ambiance: as per its name, it really is a green oasis. It was difficult to leave the garden and pool, as they offer a dream location to relax and recover. What truly set our experience apart was the outstanding communication and service with the manager, Gianfranco. His recommendations were spot-on, and he went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. His friendliness, helpfulness, and professionalism made a significant difference in our visit. In conclusion, the combination of a wonderful place to stay and an exceptional host has left us with a strong desire to return for more adventures on this beautiful island.

The place is truly beautiful and very cosy. Our room was really nice, with our private balcony and terrace. Room gets cleaned everyday so it feels like you are in a hotel. Also, secure parking!

I guess breakfast was the only thing we didn't enjoy.. The lady who works there doesn't really speak English and is not very friendly...There is no menu, but the first morning I have seen people eating scrambled eggs, the next day I have asked the lady if she could make it for me, she said yes, but because it's an open space I could see that she wasn't making them... I have asked two more times, but then just gave up.. You can see that she is frustrated and doesn't want to be making you anything, even when you ask for coffee.. so we have decided to buy ourselves breakfast from the shop and have it in our room.. I understand her, because she is the only one who serves everyone, but still, people are on holiday, they expect to be treated more polite.

Fantastic green gardens/grounds. Secure property with electric gate and plenty of private parking - this is an absolute gem as parking can be a nightmare in Sicily. If you have a car to park then the property is highly recommended. Fantastic views. Friendly welcoming staff. Umberto is very helpful and the lady that looked after us at breakfast was very attentive and kind (sorry I didn't get her name).

There is nothing about the property that I did not like. For anyone else staying here, note that the access to the property is down some pretty narrow side roads that may give you the impression that you have gone off the beaten path and took a wrong turn. Don't be put off by this, once you are inside the beautiful grounds you forget about its general location.

The host was fantastic!! He was excellent at communicating with us the entire trip, and made sure we had directions to the property. The breakfast was delicious and the hosts so kind to us. I was blown away by the views of the hotel!!! This exceeded expectations, and I would highly recommend this to groups of friends, individuals, couples, and families. Thank you! This is walking distance to good restaurants and beautiful beach views.
