Due Gemelli is positioned high and romantically in the hills of Cinque Terra, the Gulf of Poets. Each well-sized and well-appointed room has its own balcony affording beautiful 180° views of the sea, and the Unesco-protected pine and oak forests below. Our room had an ante-room for boots, luggage, dog bowls, etc. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were fresh and delicious, and the parking was great. The shuttle bus runs from just outside the hotel, and Le Spezia is an easy 10-minute drive away with masses of public parking just as you come into town. Staying here was a totally wonderful experience.

The only improvement we could see would be some amenities overnight. A vending machine or the bar opening a bit later with a wider range of snacks and drinks perhaps. We stayed in September so perhaps in high season it is different but visitors at this time of year are advised to bring some snacks and drinks for the room so they can spend as much time as possible looking at the stunning nighttime skies over the sea.

The room was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful view of the Mediterranean with a balcony as well. Breakfast was fresh, healthy and more than adequate.

The only negative was the location of the hotel, which was 3 miles, up a mountain, from the town of Riomaggiore, so a taxi was needed each time we had to catch a train or get back. Property could benefit from shuttle service. But we caught the only bus into town one day, walked down the mountain another. We made it work. Even though the property was a bit out-of- the- way. This was also a plus- because we were not struggling through crowds. It was a peaceful oasis.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The location on the hill with on-site parking was very convenient. From the accommodation, you can take a bus to Riomaggiore and then a train to explore the beautiful Cinque Terre villages. We bought discounted tickets directly at the property, and the host even gave us a map, bus timetable, and explained everything clearly. Thanks to that, we ended up discovering much more than we originally planned. The host was fantastic – he spoke English very well, responded quickly to our messages, was friendly, and even recommended local wines which he had available for purchase. Breakfast in the form of a buffet was delicious and filling. For some, the location might seem less convenient since the property is up on a hill along the road. However, we found the quiet setting, the tasty wine, and the breathtaking sea view to be the perfect retreat after the busy crowds of Riomaggiore. Overall, this was a wonderful experience, and we would gladly stay here again.

The only minor downside was the shower cabin, which was a bit worn and required some care to avoid water spilling into the bathroom.

We loved staying in this hotel. Both hosts (2 gemelli) David and Luca are incredible owners, very welcoming, always available and helpful. They were sincerely willing to meet all our requests and gave a lot of useful information and directions. We did not take breakfast as we wanted to sleep longer, but still were kindly offered coffee and croissants at our check-out before we left. The location is great, easy to find, it's right on the road. It has a safe nice parking. The view is incredible both from the room balcony and dining area. Our room was nice and clean, with nice balcony and breathtaking view. Mostly very quite and peaceful. The only thing that could be improved is the soundproofing with other rooms.

Location is ideal away from the crowd of cinque Terre. The view of the Ligurian sea from our room is spectacular! You can take the shuttle bus to take you to Riomagiorre and back, just right in front of the hotel and costs €2,50 per person per way. You can take the train from Riomaggioree and visit all villages if you like. Restaurant is only open during breakfast. If you wish to have dinner, you’ll have to go to Riomaggiore or La Spezia.. David was very accommodating with our questions.

Property is outdated or at least our room. The balcony door drags when you open it and it’s loud. No kettle or fridge in the room. No lift, so in case you have heavy luggage or have trouble walking, perhaps you can request a room above the restaurant or at least one floor down.

The view from the room is breathtaking, and pictures here don’t do it justice, you have to see it. Everything was perfect at the hotel, room was very clean, great view, the two gentlemen at the reception were a pleasure to interact with. Very helpful and explained how to get tours, get discounts and use public transport. One of them even lent us 5€ for the bus as we only had cards! The location is good - you can take the ATC bus (station is right next to the hotel) to Riomaggiore. The schedule is accurate.

Breakfast is nothing to write home about but it gets the job done.

The view of the ocean was very nice. Not only do you have a view out of the window but our room was on the first floor with a large deck shared by two other rooms. The views from the deck were very nice.

There is very little public transportation from the city to the hotel. If you do not have your own car, walking to the hotel should be well thought out prior to making the trip on foot

This place is perfect especially if you have a car. Right before you get to Riomaggore from la Spezia. It has plenty of parking which can be a problem if you stay in one of the 5 villages. If you don't have a car, there is a bus stop only 15 metres away. It would feel isolated though if you don't have your own vehicle. Staff are helpful and it's family owned We loved that it's a 5min drive to Biassa which had small shops and restaurants.

A bit far from town but reliable bus in front Lots of stairs. But we are fit.

Amazing views! Spacious, comfortable room with balcony. Great breakfast. Staff were very helpful. A short drive to town where we parked to car to visit the villages. The staff recommended the ferry which gave a fabulous view of all the villages.

A mini bar fridge and kettle would have been great so we could have a drink on our balcony.
