Paolo and his staff did a wonderful job of greeting us, helping us park our car, arranging for a transport for our luggage, and then walking us down to the apartment. We enjoyed the introduction to Riomaggiore and information that Paolo shared as we walked. The apartment was right at the harbor overlooking the water and was very convenient to the train and restaurants next door. It was fun opening the shutters in the early morning and waving good day to the locals. We also got to watch our teenage son cliff jump from across the water, which made this location quite thrilling as well!

Riomaggiore is a very steep and hilly village so you have to be ready to "work your legs" and not be afraid to hike and climb. But that's all part of the experience in the Cinque Terre!

A Fantastic location - right at the water's edge in the gorgeous village of Riomaggiore. Paulo the host, is wonderful; very efficient in his communication, very friendly and, having grown up in the village, full of knowledge about its history and of things to do in the Cinque Terre. He helped us plan our itinerary and organised hiking passes for us. Nothing was too much trouble. He also organised secure parking for us, met us at the top of the town to escort us there, before guiding us to our room. The room was very clean and simply furnished with some original features. Like everywhere in the village, the climb to the room is steep but well worth it for the view. The tea, coffee and biscuits were a nice touch! The village is built into the side of a steep hill, so you need to be very sure footed, and happy with steep climbs and lots of steps. Tip: If travelling by car, take only want you need for your stay and leave the rest of your things locked in the private garage. the gradients make wheeling suitcases a challenge.. but.... this is a magical place and well worth the effort!

we loved it all

Fantastic view which exactly facing the heart of Riomaggiore shore with boats. Stunning ocean view as we stayed at the second floor. The location also good, just 7 mins walk(without luggage) to train station and 10 mins with luggage’s.

The stairs are high with rocky roads and the guest house we stayed no lift(I think the others are the same, that ‘s what the style of the village). It’s pretty difficult for heavy luggages. Highly recommend only with light luggages or if you are strong and never mind to carry the heavy luggages. That’s totally fine. About the room, 1) I have mosquito bites in the room. Remember to bring your own mosquito repellent spray. 2) The cleaning person didn’t vacuum the floor. 3) The last day 2 hours before we checked-out, the guesthouse power outage, so that we informed the owner by text and around 30+ minutes later, power came back. We guess that it happens sometimes in the village.

It’s location on the harbor was ideal. We ate at the Next door restaurant recommended by Michael that was excellent. Michael met us at the train station which was ideal as it would’ve been difficult to find the apartment without his help.

I had booked a two bedroom apartment for two people. I later added a third person who I thought was added to the original reservation. However, the staff booked an extra room without me understanding that they did so. It all worked out in the end because the third person didn’t mind paying for the extra room. Include instructions on how to operate the coffee machine . The locks to one of the buildings is incredibly hard to open, which is a problem late at night.

Paulo was a wonderful friendly host. He kindly met me at the station (without me asking) to take me to the property, which was a few minutes walk away. Provided gudiance on my travel plans for walking between the local towns, and offered to store my bag on the last day. Very large room with a significant volume of complimentary tea, biscuits and drinks in the fridge (both juice and bottled water).

The room overlooks an alleyway so a little bit of noise from tourists/neighbours, but not excessive, and you're going to get that in a central location like this

Scorch Di Mare was one of our favourite accommodations in the Cinque Terre. With its location right on the glorious ocean with sea views and the magic of listening to the ocean was a highlight. The facilities were all we needed . A kitchen with fridge , Coffee Machine, Stove comfortably beds delightful toiletries etc can’t fault our stay.Michele the host was very helpful and informative and helped us with our luggage up the stairs . As with all accommodations at Riomaggorie the buildings built on the side of the cliff have steep stairs to your accommodation but that’s to be expected . We all agreed we highly recommend this property and hence the high rating. Such a beautiful location and so handy to great restaurants and cafes. Hope to return one day in the future.

No complaints

The view of the rooms (there was a downstairs and upstairs) was wonderful. You are looking at the harbor and the views are out of a novel. The location is perfect to see the ocean and see from the patio all activity in the little harbor. The staff was wonderful. They kept in contact before arriving to ensure we knew where to go and they took us to the room and sat down to explain everything to know about restaurants, how to visit the other cinque terre cities, and what to do. Very dedicated staff. Also the cleaning crew made sure everything you needed was available.

If you are older or have difficulty with balance, this is not the place for you. There are a lot of stairs to get to the room and the last stairs are narrow and do not have a railing/banister. Also the bedroom had a ladder going to it which did not have a railing/banister either. I think it would be an easy fix to have add to the stairs to the front door some railing. Also the ladder to the bedroom could easily have a rope or something hanging on the wall and next to spanned from the ceiling to the floor above the ladder so it would be less "scary" to get up and down to the bedroom.

We loved this property. The view from the window was amazing! The place was so clean and they had water, coffee, & little snacks for us in the room. Communication with owner was good. Keep in mind that they take about a two hour break/lunch from 12:00-14:00 (12:00pm-2:00pm) so plan accordingly if you are arriving around then and trying to store luggage till check in. The owner did try to work with us on this but we missed our train anyways haha! Overall, we had a great stay and wish we could have stayed another longer.

The location of this property is amazing it is right above the inlet at Riomaggiore. The view is spectacular. It is very close to the train station so access to the other towns in Cinque Terra is very easy. It is also very close to the Ferrey Boat which can be used to visit the Cinque Terra towns from the sea.

It is a smaller room. It is airconditioned, has a small refrigerator and a small bathroom with shower. Just be aware that there is a lot of inclined walking.

One of the best accomodations we have stayed in. Highly recommend for all the helpful tips, information, and activities the hosts linked us up with - all with discounts when mentioned where you were staying! The location is great and the room super clean with everything you need. The best part about this really was the helpful advice, they created a hiking route for us and with local knowledge allowed us to see everything in the most efficient path.
