Breakfast was great, continental style. Everyone was friendly and it was a quiet location within an easy walk to transport and the Colosseum. I would recommend it as a safe place for solo travellers. It’s run by Franciscan nuns, bear this in mind if you’re looking for a different vibe.

Location is good! Breakfast is good!
Breakfast could be much better if there are hot food for breakfast like fried egg instead of hard boiled egg or hot sausage, or hot bacon or ham.

As a solo traveler, I couldn’t have asked for a better place! Everything was spotless, the location was perfect — just steps from all the main attractions — and the staff were unbelievably friendly and welcoming. It was so peaceful and quiet, and the simple breakfast served every morning was absolutely delicious and the perfect way to kick off the day. I felt energized, comfortable, and truly at home every time I came and went. If I ever come back to Rome, I will be staying here again — no question about it! Don’t even bother looking anywhere else!
Everything was great.

Giving this place a 10 because it's what it deserves for the price. Clean, tidy, quiet, air con can be turned insanely low to combat the Rome heat. Staff were amazing too. Personally loved the neighbourhood, lots of cool bars and places to eat. If you're expecting Hamptons level of service and amenities then perhaps book somewhere else for triple the price.
It is quite far from the centre. 30 mins brisk walk to Colosseum. An hour to Vatican city. I booked knowing this so no biggie. Fridge in room will turn off when you leave, be mindful. Size of fridge and safe not the biggest but adequate. Finally and most of all, no option to connect YouTube or Netflix to TV. Only Italian channels in their language. To be expected but would like the option to link apps

The breakfast was great ! Not a traditional American or English but it had boiled eggs, ham and cheese pie, fruit, desserts, juices, coffees and a lot more. They allowed me to leave my luggage at 7.00am as I had a Vatican tour at 8.30. Only tiny issue I felt was that the luggage room did not have a locked door but my stuff was fine. The hotel is a part of an active convent, I believe, so it was very secure and calm, which I appreciated as a single traveler. The room was clean and restful. The bed was very comfortable, with pristine white sheets; and the bathroom was also nice. There was AC, a small Fridge and a safe. Nothing to not like.
The location for me was slightly less than ideal because it is in a residential area and to go anywhere, first you get a bus to the subway and then onwards. However, the bus-stop was quite close and travel was easily manageable.

This is a newly refurbished property. I was impressed with how clean it was. Impeccable and comfortable. I met a few different staff and there wasn’t one who wasn’t kind and helpful. A real model of humanity.
The breakfast could have more variety especially some hot food options. Transport is not very easy (the Metro is about 15 minutes walk. The buses to centre of Rome are closer but quite busy and spend a lot of time in traffic). For this reason I found the stay a bit pricey as it wasn’t right in the heart of Rome. However, the downsides were not a big deal and the good parts were definitely greater. I’d stay there again.

The place was super clean, with a nice fresh Italian breakfast and delicious homemade cake. Super friendly staff. I missed the cutlery in the room (spoon to mix sugar in my tea) but that wasn't a big problem. If you don't like someone touching your bed and towels (used just once) better tell it as they come and make it look nice every day. I couldn't sleep well in the morning (7am) as the noise from the building came with a loud echo (troley and talking)into the room and talking and building works from the outside too, it's better to have earplugs if you are not used to the noise I leave in the village where is absolutely dark and quiet at night ;) Beautiful area. 30-40min walk (along the Aurelian Walls) from the train station Ostiense, 33 minutes to Termini train station. Shops with cheaper souvenirs, and a nice shop "Penny" close by. I walked 30 km in Rome and am glad that I stayed at this place as I would probably have missed this beautiful part of Rome. I would book it again when back to Rome. Thank you.

We found staying at Casa San Giuseppe perfect for our stay in Rome. All the staff are very helpful. They helped us out by WhatsApp when we needed information on which metro station to use to get back to the premises. The breakfast was perfect to start the day. We also found it a quiet and spiritual place stay. The beds were comfortable with a soft and a hard pillow for different needs. We will stay there next time we go to Rome and we will recommend to our friends
We liked everything

I had a lovely stay at Casa San Giuseppe. The room is as described, and is clean and comfortable. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The hotel itself is well connected. It is easy to reach the center via public transport. There are a also lot of restaurants, cafes and shops nearby that don't have inflated tourist prices.
It could get a bit loud. The sound echoes, so I could hear conversations on the floor below. Also there was a lot of noise coming from the street at night. But this was easily fixed by closing the window.

For the price you pay this place is a fair deal, it's super clean, I liked the location although it's a bit far from the city center but I prefer this better as it's quiet, safe, and has shops a d restaurants around. The staff was kind, bed sheets very clean. The room was very big for a single bed, breakfast was ok nothing fancy but will do. Overall, I'm happy with the place.
The only thing I didn't like was the air conditioner, it's loud but if you lower the fan it gets better, and the blanket was not like regular hotel blankets so I didn't use it.
