Location was great as there are transport options, restaurants and a supermarket located nearby. Staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and as expected. Whatever additional things I needed, iron for example, the reception provided.

Breakfast for me was a bit of a let down. If you're not a fan of sausage, bacon and eggs everyday, then the hot options are limited. (I'm mildly allergic to eggs) Lots of sweet/cold options so if that's your go-to breakfast then you won't have a problem. I ended up just getting some items at the nearby supermarket and had a hot cup of tea in the breakfast room.

We moved to this hotel after a terrible first night at a different place. From the moment we arrived at Hotel San Giovanni we were warmly welcomed by the reception team. All of the staff couldnt have been more helpful or friendly for the entire stay. The room was immaculately clean with housekeeping maintained everyday including fresh towels and bedding. The breakfast service had a lovely varied selection and the staff were accommodating and attentive to all guests. Being located in a residential area made nights more quiet and restful, but you are only a short walking distance to the colusseum and city centre. The next time we return to Rome we will definitely be staying here again.

<Good>1.It is a great option for pilgrims as it is very close to the San Giovanni in Laterano Cathedral, which has been used as the Vatican for a thousand years, and also close to St. Paul's Cathedral outside the castle. 2. It is much safer than Termini Station, where many tourists stay. 3.It is a little far to go sightseeing on foot in the tourist center, but if you use the subway or bus, it is not a long distance. In particular, you can reach almost all tourist attractions in about 30 minutes by subway. 4. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel, and there are many bus lines . 5.It is cheaper and quieter than hotels near tourist attractions. 6. Cleanliness, facilities, breakfast, and security are all excellent enough to match the level of a four-star hotel. <Sad>1. Since it is located away from the tourist center, night tours are difficult. 2. The bus ride to the tourist center can take about 30 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes. 3. There are no airport buses and it is far from the tour package meeting place.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable, with everything well maintained. The breakfast was good, offering several options, and the staff were always kind and helpful, which made our stay pleasant and easy. Overall, the atmosphere was nice and the service felt professional.

For a 4-star hotel, I expected a bit more. The location is quite far from the historic center of Rome, and the nearest metro station requires a long walk (no super long, but still). It’s a decent option if you don’t mind the distance, but I wouldn’t really consider it a full 4-star experience.

Quiet, nice area (non touristic). Super clean.

The staff are so kind and helpfull. Especially Luka Giovanni (might not have remembered the name right) and also Roberto and all the other staff. When I arrived early before the check in time, the receptionist welcomed me and gave me the room regardless. I had only eaten breakfast one time because I get out early, but the breakfast was rich and tasty and you can take it with tray to your room. Excellent staff and excellent hotel, the location is a bit far from the center and you have to walk alot or take taxis and metros or busses. But its near a local neighborhood where you can get to see rome at a local point of view. 10/10

Distance from the center

It was a 20 min walk from the colosseum and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. It was also very close to a bus stop. The ac worked great and was awesome to come back to after a hot day in the summer sun. The breakfast was standard- eggs, bacon, coffee machine and variety of pastries. The bed was extremely soft and comfortable too.

We had a rental car and the parking for the hotel was expensive.
