These last four days will always be remembered as very, very special. Our stay in this unassuming small hotel in the heart of Tuscany, left us feeling a bit sad when we checked out - we loved it so much. The facilities were great, the sumptuous breakfasts presented with love and care, delicious!! The pool area was like a magnet in the Tuscan summer and heatwave - big, bright, sparkling pool and stunning shaded area on one side as well. But best of all - the passionate pulsating heart of the hotel was it's staff. The hands-on owner, Max, the professional, passionate and warm-hearted Stéfano, timid Didar, the friendly cleaning ladies, gosh ... Unforgettable!!

The reception area was uncomfortably hot, day and night, and could maybe do with some air-conditioning.

We had an exceptional time at le Volpaie not only because of the beautiful and very well maintained place, but mainly because of Maximiliano and Steffano who manage the hotel with great passion and hospitality. The rooms are very clean and have everything you need. The breakfast is a perfect mix of Italian sweets and everything you would expect from a European breakfast. Max and Steffano make sure everyone is satisfied and the buffet is full throughout breakfast time. For dinner, the nearby osteria with handmade pasta and great secondi piati is an absolute must. Since we came by bike and there was no bus to San Gimingano, we were also able to experience the beautiful pool area, which is great for relaxing. But as already mentioned, the exceptional service from Max and Steffano made this stay perfect. As the Osteria was closed on Wednesday, Max prepared a lovely lunch for us in the pergola by the pool with a selection of wine. When we had to leave the next day to go riding, they even provided us with a lunch box and ice cold water for the ride. It really felt like we were leaving a good friend's house. All in all, we can only recommend a stay at Le Volpaie as it is a beautiful place with a truly exceptional service that goes the extra mile for the customer. We will definitely be back!

It is a wonderful small hotel, run by very friendly and lovely staff. The room was very comfortable, clean, with airconditioning, small fridge, it had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious, the pool area very nice and clean, with both the shade and sunny spots, and the pool is quite big. We had their cold cuts platter (different kinds of local cured meats and cheeses) for dinner one night and it was delicious, paired with lovely wine recommended by the staff. Would definitely stay here again!

Everything was perfect!

This place exceeded all expectations. A rural property that seems to be run by 2 young men that take turns in reception. They are very nice, helpful and have a very personal approach to clients. You don't feel the distance ebtween staff and guests usually found in hotels. Room was great and property is pretty. Located conveniently for a roadtrip around Toscana. I got food poisoning from a raw sausage in San Gimignano and the hotel was helpful getting me better. Price was great. Breakfast is good. No pressure for check out. Highly recomended.

Wi fi is not great.

Breakfast was fantastic, with a great selection to suit all tastes, from delicious sweet treats, to mouth-watering tomatoes, mozzarella and roasted courgettes. All extremely beautifully served. And with a real Italian cappuccino, espresso or whatever one orders. The location is also very good, a convenient base for visiting San Gimignano, Volterra or other Tuscany towns. We chose it to attend a concert in Lajatico.

We liked the beds the least, they could have been a bit more comfortable. We also ran out of parking spaces the night we got home late and had to park the car on the street. However, this was not a big problem as the street is quiet, almost traffic-free and extremely safe.

Two young men are running this hotel, with a high scene of hostility and a rare touch of familiarity. We were happily surprised over this lovely gem, and will definitely both recommend this place to everyone and will absolutely come back. Stay here in this lovely little village for a more authentic experiece in the San Gimignano area and let the hotel owners bring you to the local restaurants and bars! Italian hospitality as it’s best. Thanks Max and Stefano for a great stay.

The staff was very wecoming, lovely pool, We had a meat and cheese platter by the pool, which was all locally sourced, very delicious with a great selection. Great local wine served, too. No dinner options there are restaurants within walking distance which served very lovely traditional Italian food. The contnental Breakfast was delicious with a great selection to choose from. Our accommodation was very clean and comfortable we slept very well.

Hotel is in a marvelous corner of Tuscany! We spend wonderful days here. Hotel stuff is very friendly. We field here as at a house of a friend. We came as guests but leaved as friends. Thank You so much! Gyuszi from the P. team! :)

It was just a quick drive through, nothing fancy. I would not stay there again, rather choose A place in Volterra. Nice balkony, quiet surrounding, could go for a walk in nature, amazing birds……

It was too far from San Gimignano, when i booked it, i thought i would quickly Go there for food in the evening, but i was tired driving and just wanted to walk. The little town had one restaurant and that was not good.

The happy and helpful staff...offering even to carry our bags....having a drink there before going to a wonderful restaurant within a few minutes walk. The excellent breakfast with such a variety of locally sourced food. We had a car so the parking there too was a bonus. Congrats Max and Stefan for a well run and very clean establishment.
