This hotel is a gem. We loved our stay here. The private beaches with crystal clear water. The picturesque location. Wonderful breakfasts in the morning. And very friendly staff.

It's not well set up for families that want to self-cater. We weren't allowed to 'picnic' in the open air lobby so had to go back to our room to eat - the restaurant wasn't open till 7:30pm and our kids go to bed at 7pm so we needed to get them fed around 6pm. Also the pool towels were completely out one day which was inconvenient. We would still choose to come back though - this place is magical!

Everything! The location is exceptional- clear blue water for lots of swimming in a large inlet that (at the moment) is not too busy with boats etc. The hotel has two beaches where guests have free access to sun loungers and umbrellas and where you can glide off into the wonderful water. Our room was comfortable with a beautiful view- it had all that we needed. The breakfast was buffet style, with the addition of cooked eggs if desired- it was all delicious and plentiful. The staff were so pleasant and helpful. We fully intend going back!

The hotel is much better than you might think from the photos here. It is some kind of hidden shelter - you are out of reach, out of buzz. With a private beach, cleverly designed so that it is more like a few spots scattered around the cliff so that there are always only a few guests so they don't disturb each other. There's also a lovely pool with a pool bar (although it was basically closed when we visited in mid-September, there was still something for us). I must also admire the staff, who were very helpful and friendly. There was very convenient parking on-site (We flew to Olbia, rented a car, and took a ferry to the island of Maddalena).

We visited at the end of the summer season, in mid-September, and encountered a few complications with the availability of the pool and beach access towards the end of our stay.

Excellent breakfast choices with option to order as well as buffet, dinner options varied and fresh, great beach and pool with fantastic views, lovely cocktails, rooms clean, soundproof with good air con and toiletries.

Just watch out for high charges for water in the minibar (we have never stayed at a hotel where they charge for water in the minibar and were not told about this on check in). Otherwise everything was great!

Staff were super helpful and kind, gave us a free upgrade which was really appreciated with our 20month old who had the space to run around ! Restaurant was great with good amount of choice, beach bar and pool setup lovely, and the private beach had several different areas so never felt remotely busy. An amazing base for anyone wanting to explore the Maddalena archipelago (which everyone should - it's stunning ) and seriously good value for money in high season compared to NE Sardinia mainland hotels

Not a problem for us but obviously you would need to drive everywhere at night / in the day from here. Tbh in all of Sardinia it's better with a car anyway - we spent a day exploring Maddalena/ Caprera and then a day on a boat around the rest of the islands - thoroughly recommend

I loved the place where the hotel is (magic) and the privacy of the beach...the accommodation was clean and with nice amenities. The employees of the hotel are very kind. I will come back for sure.

I think that you should have room service and a coffee machine in the bedroom... It was necessary to go till the restaurant to have a little coffee. The hotel shouldn't have music in the pool bar..It doesn't match with the beauty of the place.. if we want to rest in the sun and read a book it is annoying ...it so much better to be connected with nature and the song of the sea...

We loved our stay at Hotel Cala Lunga. The hotel’s secluded location was a fantastic getaway from the crowds of mainland Sardinia, while still being very well equiped with 2 smaller private beaches and a pool, along with a third beach (Spiaggia Cala Lunga) close by. The hotel’s staff were very accommodating and welcoming throughout (especially Robert and the maître at La Terrezze), which made the experience extra pleasant. Highly recommend the boat excursion to the La Maddalena archipelago, which departs from Porto Massimo (in front of the hotel) and can be organised via the hotel. Because of the secluded location, hiring a car / moped is beneficial for exploring the rest of the island’s beaches.

Minor thing: the air conditioning struggled a little (still tolerable), but we stayed during the middle of an extreme heatwave.

Great Hotel/Resort with private beaches around it. The room we stayed was spectacular with a nice view to the marina. Room size is more than enough for a couple, the bed is super confortable, AC is super powerful. Bathroom is also very good with a proper good size shower. The breakfast is amazing. We wish we stayed much longer at the Hotel Cala Lunga.

Sometimes the restaurant staff was inflexible. Not possible to change table (without even trying), not possible to cook rice instead of pasta (gluten free, without even asking the chef)…too many ‘No’ that could have been said differently.

This is a unique venue set on a private peninsula with 4 private beaches, swimming pool, 2 cocktail Bars, a nightclub at the end of the peninsula for the jet set. The GM - Robert James was amazing. He is professionalism personified. Our degustation dinner 38 euro pp was excellent. 5 courses spread over 3 hours on the outside terrace under the stars. The Terrace was phenomenal. Service is first-class. A very special destination. One of a kind.

I didn't like that we didn't stay an extra 2 nights.
