I live in Southington, CT. (Two miles away from IHG ), so I am familiar with the good and bad hotels. My wife was ill, so she was unable to participate in my grandson's school vacation activities, so my grandson and I stayed in your hotel ( first time )to keep him healthy during his short school vacation stay with me. I was quite pleased with the inside appearance, and cleanliness of the hotel. The room was very nice. The staff was friendly and not robotic. For the included price, breakfast was very good! I used to have guests stay one exit down 84 at the other big name places, but I will now recommend Holiday Inn!. Thank you!

The rooms and bedding were very clean. The room smelled extremely clean when entering. Very pleasant. Also, they’re very accommodating when arriving early and needing to check in. Breakfast was also very good. All the items were displayed very nicely and dining area was also very clean.

The property, does need a bit of updating, guest rooms wise. Looks dated. But the property is extremely clean so that makes up for the aesthetic. Also our only real complaint, about how thin the walls are, it’s like your neighbor is in the room right along with you. You hear every conversation clearly.

Brkfst was very good.

We were offered the first room on the bottom floor near brkfst area, check in. Thought for our age, this is perfect. Well, every nite workers were talking very loud in these areas. They started at 4 or 5 moving chairs in the brkfst area and setting up coffee pots ect. I understand that this is something that has to be done but dont put anyone in that first room. Listening to people at 11, 12, 3, 4, 5, we were very tired.

The parking lot! Understand that there was apparently drainage work done and it needs to be paved … what it really needs is to be dug and graded first. AND the parking spots need to be wider and more clearly marked! So much wasted space because people couldn’t squeeze into the spots. Also, the room smelled like Febreeze; so what did it smell like before? Better to actually clean the room!!! Very cramped getting in the doorway - and we’re able bodied and not overly large! The wallpaper in the bathroom was applied badly. No worries - with no exhaust fan it will be peeling and moldy soon enough.

Property was fine.

8 needed a second night stay and when I called front desk to do so. I was told I'd have to check out of my current room and rebook. I tried to rebook on the phone, but the staff told me to book through Booking.com as that's how I booked my first night. I booked again through Booking.com, received a confirmation email and when we arrived back at the hotel later that night we were told there was no reservation and that the hotel was completely booked. WHAT! . The night staff states that front desk reps are not allowed to recommend third party agents. Well that was a lie b/c that's exactly what I was told to do. We we offered a biz card to call a.d compkain and we received a bottle of water for our troubles. Thanks so much!

The breakfast provided by the hotel was very good. The hours are 6:00 - 10:00 am is more generous than in other similar hotels I've stayed at.

Get rid of cable television! My stay would have been much better if I could have cast my TV favorites from my phone. Way too many sports channels. Replace cable TV's with smart TV's.

Great location near I-84. The facility was clean and welcoming upon entering and that continued into our room. In the room there were plenty of USB ports available. The walk-in shower was a definite plus for us. The commissary in the lobby is much more convenient than vending machines that require change. The breakfast area was clean and well stocked with a pleasant staff member on duty. This was a welcome change from our bad experience the night before at the Holiday Inn Express in Hagarstown, MD,

The room was not well insulated from sounds from outside and within the hotel. Plumbing noise from other rooms, doors that slam shut, outside traffic noise, and the heat/AC unit made horrendous noise when in use. Had to turn it off in order to sleep but then the room was overheated.

We were nervous when we saw 2 stars. But were very haplpy when we came in. Our room was clean, smelled good and the beds and pillows were comfortable. We even loved the pillows were embroidered with soft and firm. We LOVED the Dove showering products that were available. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We loved breakfast the options. On Saturday they didn't have oatmeal, pancakes, yogurt so that was a bummer.

I so enjoyed staying in Southington at the HIE! The staff members were extremely helpful, friendly and went out of their way to make my stay as perfect as possible! My room was so clean and quiet, and completely furnished with frig, microwave, coffee, toiletries and more. I would definitely stay again! And last but not least, the morning breakfasts were excellent. I’d rate this place 10+!

I liked everything .

I came here for the first time and it was very good feel, the rooms were very clean and tidy, the staffs were friendly, the food was good and I am very happy with the experience. I like the seating area at the back entrance, Good place to chill out with a coffee and relax.
