The building and architecture itself are stunning, rooms are clean and spacious (we had a corner room overlooking the RjR smoke stacks). Sink wasn’t draining (stopper was stuck) when we checked in and someone came immediately. Everyone was really kind and helpful, and the downstairs playroom as perfect with kids! Would certainly book again!

Not property in particular, but tricky situation with kids - the expensive snack tray my kids devoured when I was in restroom. Might be good to advise families of this or to offer to remove in future. I didn’t even realize it was there in all honestly! $45 of snack devoured in 15 minutes lol. If you’re a family with small kids, you might want to hide it!

Everything. Our stay at the Kimpton Cardinal Hotel, an IHG Hotel, was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in a luxurious and welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the entire experience. The Kimpton Cardinal Hotel truly exceeded our expectations in every way. It’s a plush, luxurious escape that we can’t wait to return to. Valet, I would prefer to park my own car.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. The view from the room was great from the fifth floor. There were several large windows and multiple layers of window coverings, which was nice to have privacy, but still have natural light.

The parking is not easily accessible unless you choose valet parking. The deck across the street is a fair rate for an overnight stay; however, it’s not easy to access for re-entry to retrieve your car. You have to circle the block and go in on the other side of the deck. Other than parking, we had no concerns.

Justin from Catherine’s bar was just incredible. He came to check on us, made sure we received excellent service, and personally took AMAZING care of us. When we returned for dinner he visited us and asked about our drinks and food; and when we prepared to leave he expressed HIS appreciation for having us there. He made us feel so welcomed and really special. We all fell in love with him and even if I were just passing through W-S I would think to stop at Catherine’s to have a drink and a meal for the excellent food yes! But especially to see him!!!

Amazing architecture, stunning room design, gracious and really upscale service from professional front desk and valet attendants! And the amenities!!! Upon prior request our room had all of the additional features we requested. Our ongoing satisfaction was monitored by text message, which was super pleasant and convenient. The game room was awesome! If I had to be critical, I guess I would say some of our housekeeping requests were incomplete and needed to be re-requested twice. The 2 lane bowling had one lane with technical issues. Besides that, very minor, we had an absolute blast!!

The staff was amazing! Their care for every detail during our stay made all the difference!

Lots of pets in neighboring rooms. A poor dog barked for more than an hour after 9 pm.

An awesome building with lots of character and great amenities. The game room was awesome. The rooms a comfy, clean, and very nice. The hotel is perfectly located to enjoy the restaurants and nightlife of downtown Winston Salem.

Check your bill at checkout and then check again later. Our bill had a valet charge at checkout even though we didn't even have a car with us and didn't use the valet. And then a couple days later some mini bar charges showed up even though we did not touch the in room mini bar.

The hotel is situated in the center of Winston-Salem, making it an excellent location for leisurely strolls and enjoying the neighborhood. The rooms boast lovely interior design and offer comfort. The gym is well-equipped and has plenty to offer. The bistro food is delicious.

There wasn't much I disliked, except that there was a fee for TV watching and the bar was too bright and less cozy.

Nice old looking building! Big nice bathroom! Some staff was nice and friendly some were stuck up and acted like they didn’t care about their chosen career.

Under the bed was completely nasty! You could see the line where they stop vacuuming! It’s not what you want to see when you spend 300$ a night and it was very expensive for such a small room! Same size rooms at the Hampton and holiday inn for less

It was clean. Didn’t like I had to call front desk for late checkout. The following day. The whole point of late checkout is so you don’t have to get up early to get one. I think. Also they need Netflix hbo on demand etc for the price of the room. And none of that. It’s Winston not a hopping city.

It is an historic property: the RJ Reynolds Tobacco headquarters to hotel. The conversion has been gracefully done: Respectful of this exquisite building. City views are very nice. Decor is very nice.

Car parking is virtually valet only. Your only other choice is street parking, and it’s not in a park-on-the-street kind of neighborhood. The room was not particularly large. The bathroom was not memorable.
