The location is unbeatable, and the decoration is lovely! I chose this place because of the Nebuta inside the lobby! The breakfast has a lot of good options in regards to local food! My room (705) smelled kind of dirty, so we had to constantly open the window. The parking situation is also a bit disappointing, the closest lot next to the building will mark as full although there are many spots, and even then, all the designated parking spots for the hotel only get discounted to 700 yen per night. Other than that, I had a really good time here. It's fun to walk to the lighthouse from here.

Everything was great about this property! The bed was comfortable, the staff was helpful, and the breakfast buffet had so many options. The bed had two pillows per person which is rare to find at a hotel in Japan. The lobby was beautiful and filled with artwork. It was overall, a very comfortable stay. Most of the staff speak English, and they were very accommodating when we asked to leave our luggage so we could explore before check in. There are no nearby convenience stores, but it’s about two blocks from many restaurants and shops. The bus stop that can take you to both Aomori Station and Shin-Aomori Station is also nearby, which is great.

The walls are a little thin, so any time our neighbor opened or closed their door, we could feel it in our room. Luckily, we were in the corner and our neighbors weren’t too loud or noisy. The room is also on the smaller end, but you get what you pay for and this feels typical to what we’ve experienced in Japan.

The nebuta art in the lobby is pretty. The staff are helpful. Check in starts earlier at 2pm compared to most places. Room is clean. The staff do daily cleaning (bathroom quick clean, change towels, make bed). Hotel breakfast is ok but pretty basic for the price. You’d have to eat a good amount of the seafood to make it worth it.

There’s no individual air conditioning unit. You can only control the air flow. Luckily with it off my room was only 21-22C. I just used the humidifier and set it to fan only to help keep cool. I also used the first washer closest to the door. It does not dry clothes properly even with extra drying cycle. It needs maintenance/lint cleaning.

Choosing Art Hotel as there are quite a number of KOLs mentioning the buffet breakfast of this hotel. And it turns out really amazing as what others shared. Though the restaurant isn’t very big, the food choices are various. Mutsu Bay Scallops, Fukaura Maguro Steak Bowl, apple curry rice and apple sorbet are highly recommended. Aomori apple juice and apple pastry are also nice.

The room is small, and the setting isn’t very user-friendly. For a couple with 2 luggages + 2 hand carry suitcases, we spent some time on packing stuff.

Really nice Hotel, that was clean and nicely presented. Friendly, helpful staff, and located close to some good izakaya. Buffet breakfast was excellent - definitely worth it

The Aircon was really hot, and you cannot change the temp. Had to open the window to cool it down, but the snow ploughs out on the street were also quite loud.

We really enjoyed the hotel and thought it was great value for money, and a really good location for the city. The room was comfortable and staff were very friendly. We didn't really enjoy the breakfast. I'm gluten free (and also only enjoy a western style breakfast,) so there was only a couple of things I could eat. If you enjoy having dinner for breakfast then I'd highly recommend the buffet breakfast!

The hotel itself is beautiful, the nebuta in the lobby give it so much charm and a luxurious feeling. Breakfast was spectacular, plenty of options to choose from and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Front desk and cleaning staff were also very friendly and professional. Check out was hassle free and fast and the location is great, it's such a short distance from the station and close to the main attractions in Aomori city. I can't think of anything I didn't like, I already know that I'll be staying here again when I visit next time!

Staff were very friendly and service was excellent. The lobby was also very pretty and there's art sprinkled throughout the building. Rooms had some extra space so we weren't cramped and layout made sense. Facilities were generally very clean. Breakfast was excellent but it is the same spread everyday. Some local specialties and a good selection overall.

The worst part of this hotel is the location. While it may be good for the Nebuta festival, outside of that, it is about a 15-20 minute walk away from the train station and all the attractions, including most really good restaurants. The beds were also unreasonably stiff and the AC only had one temperature setting essentially (fans are available to borrow to remedy this). Aside from that, the facilities are a bit dated.

Location is great for discover Aomori, we are able to get everywhere easily. Lobby is very nice with all the traditional Nebuta. Free apple juice is delicious.

Hotel car park is full most of the time, so we had to pay extra car park fee, as the closet car park is not partner with the hotel. No indoor car park, so we had to dig our car out of snow about 40 mins every morning before we go.

Beautiful view of the bay! Staff was so accommodating as we’re English speaking. Fully stocked amenity bar with high quality products. Parking is on site. It snowed very heavy the night we stayed and the front desk staff offered us a snow brush/scraper to borrow during checkout to make sure our car was clean and accessible. Within walking distance of Lawson, train station, and Shin-Machi shopping district.
