The staff at the restaurant were very careful to all the small details. Even though they may not be fluent in English, they tried to understand at their best and show strong hospitality. Their baked breads were so fresh! They have special menu with fusion over Japanese and French cuisine! Some were quite unexpected in a good way! I love my room which is very spacious, there was a private onsen and the balcony area has a superb great scenery of the lake and the mountain. Gorgeous! Serene! The green tea pack tasted really well with strong sense of green tea. Coffee machine is available in the room too!

Staff at the lobby can be more prepared and friendly. The lobby were not always clean as previous travellers might have left over their cleansing towels and drinks unfinished. It will be better if these are cleaned ASAP, not wait till other guests arriving. With a not-so-good first impression. The transportation is not convenient if you go by public transportation. While after taking bus, you need to take quite a number of minutes walking towards the hotel. It might be quite tiring to carry a heavy luggage with you.

In a beautiful location with a great view of Lake Ashinoko below. Delicious French cuisine ( but set times for dinner and breakfast) All the staff was very friendly and helpful, but especially Misaki, the front desk receptionist . She speaks excellent English, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome there.

It’s a little bit of a climb to walk there from the bus stop, especially with luggage, so one has to be physically fit Otherwise better to take a taxi. But in the off season taxi service is not always easy to get.

The hotel was fantastic. Every staff member was very attentive and the food by Chef Sinozaki Yusuke was absolutely amazing. The private Onsen on the balcony was very relaxing and had an amazing view of the lake and the mountains. The hotel is a short walking distance from the bus station so you can get around fairly easy.

The customer service was excellent. The staff tried extremely hard to speak with me in English. The in-room and spa facilities were exceptional. A lot of attention went towards the French dinner. Very thankful for the hotel car pick up at Odawara!

Understanding the public transportation schedule would have been helpful - but not a showstopper.

View of lake was spectacular especially from private spa tub. Service was impeccable--at every turn even though there were a few gaps in language skills everyone tried really hard to make sure our questions were answered. One of the staff Maseki spoke good English and was very helpful.

This location, at first blush seems far away from anywhere one might want to go. This is really not true once one understands the bus system. I would have like to have bus line information routes, times and what is needed to prepare ahead of time in terms of coins.

Wow what a nice hotel, perched above the lake in Hakone. Best way to get here is by taxi -- it's a steep climb. Each room has an individual private wooden tub on the porch, overlooking the beautiful valley and lake below. The English-speaking staff sought us out and were extremely solicitous. We got the half-board, and dinner (in formal pajamas) was sumptuous. Breakfast was also excellent.

this hotel is great if you want genuine Japanese experience, the staff is lovely and helpful and facility immaculate.

trransportation can be challenging plan on a car service or renting a car, there is bus stop nearby.

Amazing view with new and clean facilities. Food was excellent. Super friendly staff who went extra miles to meet our needs, deeply impressed!
