There is an eco cleaning provided everyday, so every time we get back to our room after travel, the room is very clean. There is a vending machine inside the hotel and also coin laundry and dryer. We also liked that the location is around 10 min walk from the Funabashi station since my wife and I like to take a stroll around coming from the station. There's a lot of nearby restaurants and convenience stores. There's also a Don Quixote and Daiso nearby. The staff are very polite and helpful. They always greet us when we leave and come back in the hotel. There's also necessities included like toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, bathrobe, slippers, and tea. It was a very exceptional experience.

It's a minor thing but I wish we had an outside view. Our view was blocked by a neigboring building.

- The hotel seems just got renovated and renewed, so everything in the room feels nice, clean, and in top condition. It even includes a fairly large smart TV, even in the single room. The building is however is a bit old. - The hotel is located around 10-minute walk from the nearest JR station, Funabashi station, and 9-minute walk to a private railway company station, Keisei Funabashi station. - It has coin laundry you can use at a particular floor. It also has a restaurant at the 1st floor. - The bathroom is clean, and the toilet is just what you would expect from a Japanese toilet, which includes automatic flush and a bidet. - The bed is fairly large for a single person. The room is quite small, however you can still freely lay down your medium-sized luggage inside the room. - The staffs are very friendly and helpful and give exceptional level of hospitality. - Smooth check-in process, however there are some fees if you want to do early check-in as I did at the time of staying there.

- The only downside of this hotel that it is located far from the city centre, around 25 km to the Tokyo Station. There are some options to get to the city centre, one is using JR trains directly from Funabashi Station to Tokyo Station, and the other option is to transfer to Tokyo Metro at Nishi-Funabashi station and get off around Nihombashi. The JR trains is faster (around 25 minutes), while using Tokyo Metro can take up to two times longer journey. However, for tourist, taking the Tokyo Metro is a lot cheaper since you can get the Tokyo Subway Pass. Also do note if you tend to do a lot of shopping, since you can't drop your items or take a rest in-between your journey as you can do if your hotel is nearby the city centre.

Compared to the other hotels in Japan I have stayed with, Quintessa Hotel in Funabashi surprised me with how good it was. It lacked some things compared to bigger hotel chains, such as a microwave on every floor or at least one in the lobby, but for the price point, it was well worth it. The strongest point was the customer service. The staff spoke very professionally and explained things well. The room was indeed comfortable, and the cleaning schedule was not intrusive. Another thing I personally really enjoyed was the selection of tea offered because I really love tea. Other hotels only had basic green tea, but Quintessa offered an apple tea and earl grey as well. I would stay at this hotel again in the future.

Although they did their best to provide a quiet room, I could still hear the guests above me walking around and the guests next door to me sliding hangers, closing/opening doors, and banging things around. I could also hear whenever people were talking in the hallways. So it was a bit noisy compared to other hotels I have stayed with in the past. Another thing is although it's not a very far walk at all to the station, the location is a bit awkward. I would not recommend walking large suitcase/luggage from the station to the hotel. Save yourself the time and energy and use hands-free luggage delivery services. These are all minor things though, and I would still recommend staying with the Quintessa.

The room is neat and clean with air purifier if someone needs it. Also the tv is a plus! Can watch Netflix Hulu prime and all those stuff . It auto logout once switch off, so no hassle afraid of security issue And 7-11 & a restaurant open 23 hours is just downstairs are awesome

Location, it’d be great if it locates near the stations (but that couldn’t be changed so it’s all good 😂, expect 10 mins walk. Flat and no stairs involved, so it’s ok)

Great breakfast. Rooms and hotel were great. Easy to use laundry service and vending machines. Reception helpful with any queries. Room was great bed and pillow very comfy.

Nice neighborhood. Lots of restaurants nearby. Room had everything you needed.
